I haven't watched anything with hometowns, I'm going by what I've already seen. I don't have a dog in this hunt. I could really care less who she picks so its not what I want to see. It's brooks she wants and she blatantly said "I am in love with Brooks". I really don't know how she could be more obvious than that.

Yes, she did say that, but it was really early on as far as this process goes.  Most of the past leads don't say it till they have met the families of the final 4, therefore I am wondering if they are leaving that in so it coincides with the spoilers, yet in the end, she picks Drew or Chris??

sorry for this gentle reminder. but Ashley and Ali said the same bolded line about Bentley and Frank.:shocked!: ..its just a usual "formula" in this franchise  

but not about their F1/spoiled F1

yup...commonly the lead use the word "falling" for the F1/spoiled F1.

Well IF Des pics anyone other than Brooks, I feel very badly for them. Watching this season would be heartbreaking if you were chosen after she showed and professed such love to Brooks.

I actually feel the opposite.  If I'm Chris or Drew and she chooses me after her Brooks love declaration, I would feel like she really grew to love me in a more profound way to chose me over Brooks....

Brooks has been her f1 from date 1 till f3. What is that, like 7 weeks?  She's not gonna change her mind in a matter of a few days. If she does, it will truly be a default pick.  

i agree. from the time brooks would leave to the FRC is just a few days so it really isn't possible that she could grow to love one of the other guys more. she'll still be totally heartbroken which is how we see her with drew in that beach scene. her face is so red and blotchy even before we see her speak. she's been crying buckets i bet. poor des.

I dont see Des done-deal with Brooks from their very first date. Instead, i see her done-deal with Chris after their solo Ep.5 date, explained by her poem (last lines) :
As the clock ticks, timing never late
For the connections to form from each and every date

And the rose to one day grant us our fate

I look forward to the unknown,
I appreciate the emotion you have shown
And hopeful to see if in your heart
I have found a home

If she ended up with Brooks, surely she has A LOT to explain to Chris at the ATFR .

I may be wrong, but just like everybody else I'm guessing based on what I've seen. There's no doubt she likes Brooks a lot (loves him, I think, in a crush kind of way right now - not a committed love that comes through experiencing life together). They haven't been in the real world yet - the day to day stuff. It's kind of like a cruise ship or summer camp romance right now. As smart as Des is, she's obviously smitten with what she sees, what she feels, etc. at the time. To me she appears to be in that kind of bubble (not because of the extravagant dates but because of the circumstances). You can't control who you like or love - that indefinable something that makes you want to be with someone over someone else. There's no doubt to me that she's zeroed in on him for future hopes. As far as how she feels about anybody else, I guess we'll wait to see.

Meeting the parents of someone you really like or love (either one) is a reality check. Seeing these hometown previews has made me think back to when I met my hubby's folks. Try flooding somebody's bathroom the first time you spend any time with them!  #notkidding

I don't remember her exact words and clearly she did not say 'I am in love with Bentley' but she did say she was ready to run off with him. In other words - game over. That too, in epside 3 without even having a 1on1 date with him, she was ready to run off with him. There was other stuff she said (I don't remember now) but it really seemed like game over and she cried a lot, even showing JP how down she was when he came over for his date.
The difference was we all knew he was a DB and she allowed herself to be played.
What I was originally trying to explain is that we were shown her frankly OTT emotions. Here too they are leaving her telling CH that she is at the finish line when the show is in episode 7. They don't do that in a ususal season - ever.

I thought so before. But now his room has been sleuthed at St James but the des conversation with crying etc. took place on the pier at the verandah. Why would she go to his room at st james and then drive him a good 15 to 20 minutes to the verandah ? It was possibly someone else. Since the only other person they give face time on this show is CH.

Besides, I still don't get the whole going from St James to the veranda resort to have that crying conversation. If he wanted to tell her something wouldn't he have informed production and had her come to st James and spoken to her there ? Something like frank with Ali where Ali went to his room and got the news. Or if it was actually Des telling him something then wouldn't she go to St james and talk to him there ?
Where does the veranda come into it all ? Because Des crying at the pier and Brooks pacing happened at the veranda.

Good question.  I've asked myself why was Des at the Veranda where Drew was staying.  It doesn't make sense.

There is no reason to meet at the veranda for a date. It is not even that close to st james club. Unless one of our Antigua specialists can suggest that there is an activity that you need to get to from the veranda resort - I'm not getting the sequence at all.

ETA : some of you are going to get pissed with me but I couldn't resist - perhaps she does have a date with Brooks so instead of going there to pick him up,   sent someone to St James club to go get him for her date to the veranada. Meanwhile she went to check to see if Drew was doing ok that morning

This is the preview for the FDs that season. Ali says she's "falling in love with Frank" in a PI. Even during that season I always thought Frank was the guy she was smitten with. Obviously she had a strong attraction to Roberto but was afraid he wouldn't feel the same about her. It seemed like she allowed herself those feelings once Frank left. Could the same thing happen this season after Brooks leaves? It's always possible Des turns to Chris or Drew like Ali did to Roberto. I'm more leaning for Brooks (Frank?) to come back and snag the girl but you just never know.

There is a big difference between 'OTT emotions' after no 1 on 1 in episode 3, and saying you're at the finish line after two 1 on 1's in episode 7.

We knew that Frank was going to leave from the season previews itself. There were no SCs of him on FD at all. It was sleuthed that he was the one leaving Ali and also I think RS confirmed it.
Chris L was (also) hugging guy - identified after much arguing back and forth via SCs. We knew he had an FD because of the SCs.
However that was the year the RS spoiler said she picked no one so no one knew that Roberto was the winner. Till it was found out by super-sleuths that he was moving to CA.
Actually despite hugging guy- many clung to the hope that Chris L was the winner because of his great HTD forgetting that Roberto also had a great HTD other than his fathers reservations.

IA that it's not comparable between Ashley's feelings for Bentley & Des with Brooks. Frank is a good one because Ali was gaga about Frank from the minute she laid eyes on him. He was her type and seeing she's in love with a guy who looks a lot like Frank I guess she was right. We didn't hear her say she was "in love" with Frank at that point but neither had anyone else prior Des saying it about Brooks. There's got to be a reason they showed it.  My guess is that it's not smooth sailing for them and Brooks leaving definitely fits with that.

I know we sleuthed a bunch about the pic of Ali letting Chris L go, Murasaki, but don't think we came up with a definitive answer (nd4reality may remember it better than me). It was a really tough one to figure out and prior to that season no lead had ever been able to do that. Frank leaving was easy based on that preview but I believe it was RS who came up with him seeing the previous gf on his htd. I don't think we knew for sure it was Roberto in the end until he tweeted a pic of himself in the FS in Tahiti. I believe it was taken by Ali after the FRC when they had their alone time.
