For all of you working on this clue....just a tidbit of background. parts of Hunger Games were shot in Charlotte and in the mountains of NC, maybe it's a like hunger games because of where the date is taking place? Dunno..just tossing it out there.

just my 2 cents... I think it's a competition and the winner gets a 1 on 1.

I agree they used to do contests in the early seasons. at least 3 or 4 seasons had physical/sporting type competitions. They were always very hokey. One was gladiator themed one was Olympic type theme,

Normally on night 1 we start with 25, and 10 are cut. That leaves us with 15.

1 went on a 1 on 1 date
13 went on a group date
That leaves 1 for a group date.

So the only thing that makes sense is that she started off with more than 25 guys. Otherwise this makes no sense.

ETA: Another possibility is that she may have not cut 10 guys the first night. Maybe 5 instead?
I just checked Ben's season, and 18 received roses. So maybe 4 go on the group date?

The last two Bachelorette seasons, Ali and Ashley, started with 25 guys. Ali cut 8 night one and entered week 2 with 17 guys. Ashley cut 7 on night one and started week 2 with 18 guys.

With that in mind, Emily could have cut 7-8 on night one and we know 13 group and one 1:1, so that would leave 3-4 to complete in the group date for the evening 1:1. If she only cut 5 night one, there could be 6 on the group date. At least more manageable than 13!

I somehow doubt there were more than 25 to start, no evidence, just gut.
