I don't think they have actually reconnected a lot. Although Nick has given Vanessa his reassurance at that moment in time, he is still exploring his feelings with the other girls....and, anything can happen as well as his feelings towards Vanessa...it may also change during those time periods...
Nick has previously been given reassurances and full attentions from the other parties, but yet has still lost out in the end....thus, he really wants to make sure that he is giving his time and attentions to the other girls in fairness to them ....before he picks his final choices...giving them their fair chances to interact with him...these interactions have made him realized later on that it has caused him to struggle more with his emotions...thus, feeling drain and helpless in the end...

I don't think Vanessa has any clue on what is happening with Nick and the other girls...she is probably just grasping the situations through what she sees and what people say about each other...

How many times have it ever occurred wherein the girl is so confident and would still be blindsided by incidents that can cause the relationship to fall apart...Nick's reassurance is not an indication that Vanessa is his final choice, but it is an admission that there are sparks or magic in their relationship... sparks that definitely make him feel differently comparing his feelings to the other girls...but, sparks could gradually diffuse with less contacts...thus, the only way Nick knows on how to sustain that connection is to let Vanessa know that he wants her to be honest with him...to let him know her anger and pain any time she feels it...so that he can react to those scenarios as they take place...and, with that he can always find his way back to her again whenever and wherever it may be...that is when you can feel the authenticity of how they feel for each other.... the trueness of those feelings--their frustrations, anger, pain and their happiness most specially when they are alone together....

Vanessa has mentioned her happiest or most memorable moment is when she receives her promise ring...until that actually happens nothing is set in stones...in regards to her relationship with Nick...

It is natural for Vanessa to feel sway at times on the intimate physical connections she sees from Nick with some of the other girls...that may have also resulted to arguments/fights creating the scenarios on confrontations that have taken place with Danielle L and Rachel partly...Vanessa may have spoken to Nick later on in her attempt for clarity on their relationship to sort things out between them...

To be fair, we are talking about Nick here. He's the guy who was super into Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe. So obviously the girl he is REALLY into is probably going to rub a few people the wrong way.  Thats his type. He's polarizing. So he's probably drawn to the polarizing.

I like (what we've seen) of Vanessa so far. But then again I like Nick. Mostly I like Vanessa because (albeit the few) moments we've seen of Nick with Vanessa, she brings out my most favorite version of Nick to date. And seeing Nick like that (and at this point we "know" Nick pretty well) is basically why I personally watch this crappy show.

A lot of time has lapsed since their first date and that newness of learning each other's lips.  Since then, I hazard to say, Vanessa has valued herself enough to not be particularly keen to partake in assembly line advances on GDs. Good on her for knowing her worth.  She has mostly progressed their relationship with talk. The guy can either check out or ask the lady out on a second date if he wants her full attention.  Yes, that's how I see it.  
So.... anticipation builds. I think he will be in for a surprise.  Love the way she palms his solar plexus and gently rocks her bosom to graze his chest as he bites her lip in the gif posted. The woman has game. Note he doesn't have his arms around her...yet.  Love that.  I think he's finally met a woman who's needs & wants he needs to discover rather than expect his usual A-game to automatically put him on the honor roll. IMO Nick is going to have to cram for this exam.
 Love him laying on his side (him still being curious as to what she will permit) but carefully pinning her down with his hands resting on her neck (territorial) as he notes her smile. IMO she is unique to his experience and he may have had a lapse in confidence as to whether, wait for it, she was really that in to him as she says the darnedest things and takes him out of his comfort zone.  Example: she mentions Andy's season then, "surprise", her take away from the last few epis is that she likes how close he is to his family.  Most peeps take away is his question at the ATFR.  When he talks to her after announcing sex with Liz she asks the unexpected, asks if he knew Liz was coming on the show rather than expressing any concern about his having a 1 night quickie. Just 2 in a series of the unexpected way she frames events.
Hmmm, what will she do now that she has him all to herself - aside from that cute bum shot - as the crew flies into the clouds and the yacht becomes a speck on the sea?
She really really likes sweets so he better come prepared.

I love Kaitlyn's quick wit. The love stops there. As far as the other comparison, I have nothing nice to say so I'll switch it back to ...This is a great group of girls that includes Vanessa.
