I hope you aren't talking about me either nutty? I do look forward to the sleuthing every season. How a set of pics can enlighten you to where, when, how a season gets figured out. I have always liked that detective style of work.nutty1 wrote:Chacharo wrote:I haven't seen one post where anyone has acted as though they were deriving pleasure out of the thought of Des and Brooks breaking up - not one. But let's just say that I do derive pleasure from that thought - so what? Am I not entitled to state what I think about the contestants of this show without receiving less than nice posts in reply, or being constantly reminded of the spoilers, or called a hater because I'm not a fan?
I've always been fascinated by the sleuthing and speculation. Even though I have never had the time or patience, the sleuthing of screen caps can be simply amazing to watch. For years, I have watched as people speculated about what happens during these shows and many times have thought - "that is so far out, no WAY does it happen" - only to be amazed when speculation turns into the reality of what we are shown. I admire and am a little jealous at the imagination of so many posters who can come up with some of these scenarios and do enjoy reading them. What saddens me is when these people don't post because they are labeled "haters" and being constantly reminded about our rock-solid spoilers. For many of us, the spoilers take the fun out of the game.
I make no secret of the fact that I don't really care about the outcome of this show. I watch it for entertainment. It's not that I'm a hater of these people, I just don't know them and I never will. I enjoy laughing at them and with them. I laugh out loud sitting here by myself at the computer at several of the snarktastic blogs. I giggled when Mia posted about the renewal of the vows of Team Tin Foil - a post made in fun but responded to with negativity. Being a founding member, I can say for sure that Team Tin Foil was and is all about laughing at ourselves and making fun of our dedication to this silly show. It has nothing to do with hating on contestants or other posters as was implied by the response.
The contestants made a choice to go on a reality dating show and personally, I doubt the sincerity of most of them. I think most of the relationships fail because they don't really sign up to fall in love. I think many of them believe they are in love because of the bachelor bubble and the manipulation of the producers. I think they are auditioning for singing parts or acting parts or dancing parts or simply for the adventures. I'm fine with that and even enjoy following the ones who do stay in the public eye like Melissa Rycroft. I think she's a doll but I don't personally know her or know why she went on the show in the first place, but I suspect it was for more than falling in love with Jason Mesnick. I love watching Michelle Money's acerbic sense of humor and her sarcastic best friend in their videos, and I have learned a thing or two about make-up brands and how to apply them.
This is the F1 thread - a place for sleuthing and speculation. Now, since I'm really bad at both things, I shall shut up and watch the experts do their thing.
I wasn't addressing you. I knew this would cause issues. But I do believe what I said. I could care less if people snark all they want. I consider snarking different than wishing for the demise of a relationship.
I hope I haven't upset too many people with my thoughts and ramblings, just was trying to sort through the caps that we were given, and how they all pieced together. Some of that still doesn't fit IMO, but will wait till Monday to see if it fits better. As I said in another post:
I use to do a lot of sleuthing before the spoilers started coming out, and I was one that believed the spoilers in Brad 2.0 season. I was so determined that Chantal was the F1, I overlooked the obvious clues that were there. We all know how that turned out. I have been determined since to not just go on the spoilers, but to look at all the evidence in the case. This time around, everything that we had been given didn't match up to the spoiler so I needed to keep researching it and figure out what happened.
I can see how sleuthers on here that didn't believe the spoilers(me included) felt as we were trying to make sense of the un-sensible with regards to Brooks being F1 spoiler when he obviously didn't get a FD or a LCD logically since there were no caps for them but there were caps for Drew and Chris for both. At times though, it was hard to do the sleuthing and make posts as the posts that we were making were ridiculed in some circumstances. I understand that it is hard to be on both sides of the coin as I have been there.
As far as "wasting" all the hours trying to disprove the spoilers, that is what sleuthing is about. We try to prove or disprove the spoilers and exactly what happens in a season. I know that some would rather just listen to the spoilers and feel that they are right, where as others want to explore other options. Neither method is "wrong" but it is a personal choice on how we want to find out or know about the ending is all. Ridiculing sleuthing vs spoiling isn't right no matter what side of the coin you are on.
Hope next season we can sleuth again and things will be ok.
Going back to my corner till next season.

My question would be though -
Do we really know Des , Brooks and the others from watching a two hour -11 week- highly edited and scripted dating show ?
Can we really judge what's in their hearts, their true character, and what kind of person they are based solely on how they were cast, portrayed , and edited on reality television ?
Tresch,
I agree with you.
Goldie,
I agree....but then we wouldn't need to have forums and analyze every word.
As to the dumping being scripted. If that part was scripted then I tell you Des and Brooks deserve an Emmy. Move over Meryl Streep...
I'd say that " everything " is manipulated and influenced by TPTB to enhance the storyline of the season
-Everything- even Monday night's "dumping" drama.
There's no doubt that behind the scenes much more went on that we didn't see-"possibly" even Brooks panicking when being pressured to sign the Final 3 contract which says he'd propose if chosen.

I completely agree with the bolded. This season, when someone is sleuthing, it has gotten to the point a few times this season that the sleuthing has ceased as the fangirl love has taken over and when something has been said about the sc's, all you hear is how they are hiding what is obviously happening.nd4reality wrote:atem wrote:nutty1 wrote:I really like the sleuthing times better than these finals days. Hopefully they will announce the new lead soon, and we can concentrate on that. Even better, I wish I had the willpower to stop watching altogether….but that will never happen.
Back to the F1….do you think we will get an TV Grapevine videos with any hints of the outcome?
This season has sucked with sleuthing that's for sure.
Actually it hasn't been that bad. The SCs analysis did tell us a lot of what has gone down till this point. We just don't have anything for the ending.
But I agree that these confirmed spoilers have put the nail in the coffin for real sleuthing and speculating for sure. The boards turn into more a fangirl fest than anything else.
I am sorry, but I do love the sleuthing part of this and it is a shame that the sleuthing/spoilers section gets taken over sometimes by the fangirl love. Wonder if it is somehow able to keep the fangirl thing separate from the spoilers/sleuthing part, then everyone can have their say and enjoy each forum better??
Would that work out better for everyone is the next question??

That is a great idea. I think a majority of the time, most are respectful of others point of view, but there are a few who are not.

Cha Cha,
Have I told you that you are my hero?
Thanks for saying this and so well. You said everything that I have been thinking and wanted to say.
What bothers me is when people twist or distort what some say to make it seem something that it is not. I have not seen one post expressing joy or satisfaction over Des and Brooks not making it. What I have seen and wrote myself, are the thoughts that it's not going to work because of all that has happened. But as you said, what if people are chortling with glee over these two not making it? So what? Why is that a problem for some here? You can still have your fairytale. No one is taking it away.
Oh and for the record, I don't have a magic 8 ball! Neither does anyone else! But it appears that some don't want their personal fantasy spoiled by anyone. That's being pretty narrow minded, IMO.

Given the track record of engagements on this show, I think TPTB are doing more harm than good. JMHO.

Why do you think they haven't shown the last puzzle piece?..

I can imagine her trying to make it work with Chris , and Drew is not having it, one foot in one foot out kind of thing. I personally think that it's over with Drew, but she regrets it...THATH would be shocking..
Your post makes me think about a really weird thing : maybe there will not be one return (Brooks) but two (Drew). I was wondering why magazine's covers are about Brooks and Drew if they were alternativly F3. This could be the answer.
FYI Drew's father and mother seem to just arrive in CA (for the ATFR airing ?).
