Neither do I, but this isn't the first time the comparrison has been brought up so wondered why it was so important to use that comparison.

But it's ironic because you could also use that relationship and compare to Des ending up with Chris S....you could say that Des (like Jason) falls in love with the wrong person (Brooks/Melissa) and then realizes s/he should be with Chris S (Molly).

you are so spot on treshicas!  . the only difference is Des realize it before FRC/ATFR, unlike Jason. thats maybe it referred to `half` mesnick..LOL..

I know people are allowed opinions, but I have to say this. It saddens me that some people would derive great pleasure out of the thought of Brooks and Des breaking up. Snarking is one thing, this is different.
I hope Des is happy....be it with Brooks, Drew, Chris....or no one.

I agree with you nutty... this will be their life when this show is over, they will make the best of it or not.  I hope they have a great life together with a gaggle of kids if that is what they want. and if they stumble once in a while, they will get themselves up and continue or call it quits.  relationships and marriage is hard enough without someone sitting on every corner and saying this wont work.  

now, to get back to our final, I have been assured that Brooks is F1, and that they are together still and happy.(no nothing new atem, just what I was told on wednesday night) that's all that matters in the big scheme of things and no amount of doom and gloom predictions is going to change that.

My take on Brooks –

I think Brooks does love Des as evident from all the crying, confusion and regret immediately after…

I think the show and the situation has messed with his brain and made him question things that normally wouldn’t be questioned. Especially with the pace of the show and a proposal looming, it made him make a decision that was premature.

He keeps saying he has to have this I cant live without this person feeling but sometimes love doesn’t come like that and its hard for him in this situation because the show lends its self for the quick head over heals kind of love.


My take on the finale –

With that being said, I think he will realize all of that and come back quickly!

All the spoilers and ep details etc out there are saying there are two guys who propose to her and we can almost certainly say that drew was let go from the beach clip and a clip of him looking sad, not to mention she has been a pretty open book about not being in love with drew.

Also to fall out of love with someone and fall in love with someone else and get engaged in a number of days is highly unlikely, but either way it’s not ideal for Chris in all of this


But we will have to wait and see...

I haven't seen one post where anyone has acted as though they were deriving pleasure out of the thought of Des and Brooks breaking up - not one.  But let's just say that I do derive pleasure from that thought - so what?  Am I not entitled to state what I think about the contestants of this show without receiving less than nice posts in reply, or being constantly reminded of the spoilers, or called a hater because I'm not a fan?

I've always been fascinated by the sleuthing and speculation.  Even though I have never had the time or patience, the sleuthing of screen caps can be simply amazing to watch.  For years, I have watched as people speculated about what happens during these shows and many times have thought - "that is so far out, no WAY does it happen" - only to be amazed when speculation turns into the reality of what we are shown.  I admire and am a little jealous at the imagination of so many posters who can come up with some of these scenarios and do enjoy reading them.  What saddens me is when these people don't post because they are labeled "haters" and being constantly reminded about our rock-solid spoilers.  For many of us, the spoilers take the fun out of the game.

I make no secret of the fact that I don't really care about the outcome of this show.  I watch it for entertainment.  It's not that I'm a hater of these people, I just don't know them and I never will.  I enjoy laughing at them and with them.  I laugh out loud sitting here by myself at the computer at several of the snarktastic blogs.  I giggled when Mia posted about the renewal of the vows of Team Tin Foil - a post made in fun but responded to with negativity.  Being a founding member, I can say for sure that Team Tin Foil was and is all about laughing at ourselves and making fun of our dedication to this silly show. It has nothing to do with hating on contestants or other posters as was implied by the response.

The contestants made a choice to go on a reality dating show and personally, I doubt the sincerity of most of them.  I think most of the relationships fail because they don't really sign up to fall in love.  I think many of them believe they are in love because of the bachelor bubble and the manipulation of the producers.  I think they are auditioning for singing parts or acting parts or dancing parts or simply for the adventures.  I'm fine with that and even enjoy following the ones who do stay in the public eye like Melissa Rycroft.  I think she's a doll but I don't personally know her or know why she went on the show in the first place, but I suspect it was for more than falling in love with Jason Mesnick.  I love watching Michelle Money's acerbic sense of humor and her sarcastic best friend in their videos, and I have learned a thing or two about make-up brands and how to apply them.

This is the F1 thread - a place for sleuthing and speculation.  Now, since I'm really bad at both things, I shall shut up and watch the experts do their thing.

I think they messed with him. I think he had reservations about the process (smart guy), and they led him to believe she had connections with all 3 guys. They played mind games with him. When he broke it off with her, I think he was devastated. Only my speculation, of course.

Of course, now that they will begin real life together, time will tell. All Bach couples say the relationship really starts when they are out of the bubble.

I wasn't addressing you. I knew this would cause issues. But I do believe what I said. I could care less if people snark all they want. I consider snarking different than wishing for the demise of a relationship.

Still ruminating…trying to make sense of the spoilers/Des’ choice of Brooks… and interesting that Jason/Molly are being discussed.  I woke up thinking about them as well.

Earlier in the season CH put out there that there was going to be a MESNICK… and everyone agreed that it meant crying over a balcony.  At the time I said, to my understanding, that it also included a crazy change of heart, a 180, dropping the F1 for someone else…

So I’m thinking: Is it possible that Des left Antigua engaged to Brooks and has since had a crazy change of heart and now is with either Chris or Drew?  How a scenario like that went down would certainly be out of left field!  To all-you who have received spoilers, is this possible?

Funny how if you're a fan or even mildly like the lead and their F1, you're considered to closed minded and have your head up somebody's butt (yes, I did read this lol ) but if you ridicule them and call them all kinds of names for their decision, you're level headed and realistic I sit here and read and shake my head ...... 

I really like the sleuthing times better than these finals days. Hopefully they will announce the new lead soon, and we can concentrate on that. Even better, I wish I had the willpower to stop watching altogether….but that will never happen.

Back to the F1….do you think we will get an TV Grapevine videos with any hints of the outcome?

From the information from sources relayed as recently as yesterday, Des and Brooks are the couple that is still together and happy.

But at this point, in time, I believe the spoilers.

I wanted to respond to the Mesnick situation--and this is not in response to any one post, but to some of what actually went on that season.
This was a particular season where I was lucky enough to find out about a lot of the manipulations that went on behind the scenes.
Jason was very, very torn most season between Melissa and Molly. It was never being all about Melissa, he leaned toward Molly.   Manipulations "encouraged" Jason to make a final choice of Melissa. Immediately after Jason rejected Molly at the FRC, the audience witnessed his anguish (I also tend to believe his gut reaction of regret, but that would be my interpretation).
Following the FRC, we all now know what went down between the 3 cast. So despite TPTB, gut and hearts ruled.
