Theories?  I still don't get what happened from Brooks HTD with him saying he didn't want her to leave to the non-FD with him waying he's leaving!  

If you watched objectively, you would have seen that Brooks was not all that much into Des. Even CH said so. Most of it was in her head. She was running so fast, she didn't realize that Brooks was crawling behind her. Pun intended ;)

I'll give you my theory on Brooks, but his diehard fans will hate it.

Brooks was sure he wasn't in love with Des. He was hoping she was further along with Drew and Chris so he didn't have to face her love assertiveness (for  a lack of better term) in the FS.
Now he finds out that she was going to choose him. He doesn't need any more time with her. For what? All he has to do is continue this charade, and Des will be ecstatic with a morsel of love. There isn't enough time to fall in love with ANYONE, Des, Chris, Drew, Brooks. He could just crash the party at the end.....WHY,  you ask?

Because as soon as he got into the limo his wheels were turning-HE HAS IT IN THE BAG. All the media, publicity, his life will never be the same. I'll bet James' conversation came in real handy now.

All he has to do is play the game with Des for a few months, and his career, love life etc will go up exponentially. As his fans wrote on this board in stone HE IS A DEEP THNKER". For once, I'll agree with this statement.

Exactly why I don't think he comes back...I think he's a decent guy for now...esp if he stays away....he realized he wasn't in love and admitted it. Now if he came back I would totally agree with your theory above.

I think it's an extremely fishy ending. The only realistic, believable thing to do after Brooks had his talk and Des made her confessions was to end the show with no proposals. Let us know the outcome at the ATFR, after they have spent more time together. I get that they have a show to put on but this just seems silly.

sorry, I deleted the blah, blah, blah. but, as far as these 2 points go...

1. how do you know how I watched this show? were you in my room? you make assumptions that any one that does not agree with your dribble is not objective. objectivity is in the eye of the beholder.

2. fact is he didn't find out about her loving him until he was in the middle of breaking up.  so I presume he used his crystal ball and planned all that in advance.  we don't know if, how much or how little time he has left with her on the finale.

These sources don't ever seem to have any details.  That's what makes me mad that people are getting their hopes all wrapped up in Brooks/Desiree being together.

I received confirmation this morning from a very reliable source that Brooks is the F1 and the couple is happy.
Quite sure others will be hearing same and reporting such.

Actually, it makes no difference to me who any of them pick or how long they do or don't stay together. Seriously. No snark there.
Like anyone else here, I wish people happiness and good health, blessings and strength to get through the tough times.
My own personal life is not effected by the show and I try never to involve myself to that point where it could there are too many real issues for all of us.

Yes and that's her prerogative. Some people enjoy the process of sleuthing and analyzing the SC's, edit and other clues.  It's called thinking for yourself. I see absolutely nothing wrong with it and don't see why anyone else should have a problem.  We all watch this show in our own way. It would really be nice if everyone could respect that each of us takes our own path.

This is why I loved being unspoiled for so long this season.... I could come up with my own crazy theories and do my useless research because I really didn't know any better. I would hate to think that the sleuthing threads in the spoiled section have become completely useless, but that seems to be the case in recent seasons with all of the spoilers that come out. *sigh* Heaven forbid someone's analysis goes against what RS says.

thanks for explaining, NNY!!...my English is escaping me right now..LOL.. . barb....its called FUN!! ring a ding??..... and the aim of my "research" is merely to satisfy my personal unstoppable wondering mind. IDC what others think. I share it mostly in Chrisville because my fellows would like to know it..and they do the same. and as its said, its best to share, right?...To sit back, relax and doing nothing (while swallow all of the spoilers pills) is definitely not my style in watching and enjoying a season. It might not make sense that brooks is final 1 but it would make even less sense if Chris or Drew were. The only guy she wants is brooks. Period.

I feel sorry for Des if the only guy she wants is Brooks. she really doesn't even know him that well. I could even call it infatuation or a crush. She'll get over her crush soon and fall in love with someone who really loves her.

What would you say if she wanted Chris or Drew?

If she is not falling in love with Chris or Drew at all then she needs to move on. If she feels like she could fall in love with one of them with Brooks out of the picture she should try to pursue it. These are 2 great guys and they really feel like they could marry her. I mean in real life if a guy liked Chris or Drew liked her I think she would date them and might eventually fall in love with one of them.

And such was not the case. She said Brooks was unlike any other guy she's met before so it's safe to say she met the Chris and Drew types before and it didn't click even then.

She did not really know Brooks that well....I mean come on...she couldn't even tell he wasn't into her. She's known him less than 2 months and they've only been on a handful of dates. She has said several times that she and Chris have a connection. She likes Chris to some degree..you can't say she has no feelings for him. I don't know, if that were me and the guy I liked more told me he wasn't in love with me and I still liked the other guy I would at least try to get over the guy who didn't really like me that much. If I kept going after "my Brooks" I'd still be single and desperate but instead I'm happily married.

Also is it just me or were Brooks and Des's conversations kinda boring. I didn't see sparks fly. I'm even surprised Des said she loved him.

Kasha, I totally understand why people will doubt the authenticity of Brooks and Des, and only time will tell about that. I am curious if you feel that way about Sean and Cat too? I agree that the chances of making it are slim, and Jash was the big exception, but I see Sean & Cat maybe following in their footsteps. I know this  is a bit off track, but just curious!

Love can not exist on sugar alone, it would be great if Yawn/Cat moved out of the bubble, got employment and lived real life as some of the real couples have that are still chugging along, I don't see them as having graduated to real life yet. But again, what I think of them has no bearing on their life.

I was not a Brooks 'supporter' and in light of what we just saw, even less so.... and of course you are entitled to your opinion, but I just can't agree with your perspective. I think it's fair to call Brooks wishy washy or spineless... but personally I don't think he showed signs of being untruthful or cynical ... misdirected, yes, self-promoting, no.

It's so nice this season to have no bias. I could care less if Des ends up with a goat. Riding a goat off into the sunset...now there's the twist CH was talking about.. 

Statistics show no matter how crazy in love these two might be (whoever the F1 is, regardless)...they're probably going to break up give or take a year. If there's anything I've learned throughout years of watching this mindf&$%...its that TPTB can really turn anybody into a villain or saint and that may or may not be the case. We get attached to "characterizations" of real people. Real people who mess up and once outside of an edited bubble don't look so bad or good. It's fun to be passionate about these characters and the drama, but not I think at the expense of others.

Anyway until I get proof otherwise I'm gonna believe what Chris Harrison said...he basically implied Brooks was never in love with Des and that Des "thought" she was in love with Brooks.
