Decide whether you want reality or a manipulated and calculated love story.  The two are not commensurate.  If, indeed, you want the fake story that warms your heart for a minute or two, then I can be talked into agreeing with his "hero" description.  For a minute or two.

WOW!

LOL.
I don't see Brooks as a hero at ALL. In fact, he should have thought about the possibility of being put in the position for a proposal BEFORE he signed up for the show. To me, having an OOPsie  moment at f3-f1 when the lead is ready for a proposal is poor judgment, and lack of responsibility ( character flaw, FOR ME). I know that the other side of the coin is that it's a quick process on this show and he has every right to PONDER because an engagement is a huge decision. What I'm saying is that a solid person will think about how to saddle a horse to a cart before doing so, and not trying to stop the buggy while the horse is already pulling it. In other words, he should have been ready for a commitment BEFORE going on the show, like some of the men were(Zak). Instead he signed up for the fun of it, not thinking about the consequences. I'm glad he's not my DH....and good luck if Des took him back.
FYI- I like all 3 guys, but unless this whole thing is spun completely by MF, I'm not liking Brooks' behavior. I do know that he said some non-committal things during their cloud date, so there IS something wrong there. It cannot all be just mfg by MF.

Like your post!
Psych testing is done prior to the filming on cast. But besides any testing and their results, this has been a behavior pattern. So it probably took very little manipulation and prodding to get these results from this cast person. Putty--meet hand.

yes  Great point.

clapping!   I think he will because he really took this process seriously.  Him backing away proved that until he found out he made a mistake and wants Des in  his life.

I don't think there's any reason to think that either Chris or Drew did not take this process seriously. It's interesting that the one person who is having the most trouble with his feelings, is now described as the one who is taking it all seriously. I don't think Chris or Drew are faking it or just going through the motions. There's nothing wrong with them because they didn't have to agonize or struggle over their feelings. They are no less worthy of Des because they didn't go through all this doubt and questioning.

True, this. Unfortunately, and not to beat a dead horse, but it may be that Des is most comfortable in the struggle!

If Chris and Drew did not take this process seriously then neither did Des because she fell early too.

Just to be clear, because I don't think I was, I'm in no saying anything bad about Brooks because I was being sarcastic when saying the "hero returns". That's just their theme, so I was being sarcastic about it. It's no comment, whatsoever, on anything Brooks does on this show.

Edit: And, to those who take occasion to belittle him for any reason, I don't think there's any occasion for it.

Exactly. Thank you. I was thinking of the "hero returns" music, which is the theme they put on Brooks.

Once again, just because I used sarcasm does not mean I look negatively on anything Brooks has done on the show. I was just being sarcastic about the theme they put on him.

I agree, I don't think they are taking it any less seriously, nor that they're not worthy of Des. Each person is entitled to handle themselves in the manner they choose. There's really nothing wrong with either way.  Personally, I do find how Brooks is handling it for himself refreshing as far as his thought process goes.  Has he overanalzed as Des has said he seems to do? Certainly could have.  But, at this time, I have no earthly idea what goes down in the upcoming 2-part finale, and because of that, don't feel I should think the worst of each bachelor themselves, but certainly can believe there could be manipulations of all parties by TPTB.  Feed the drama, feed the suspense, etc.

And, I do have to wonder what people will think/do if they split up after. I hope they can be understanding there, too. Just saying.
