IDK ... maybe this all just proves my point that the relationship isn't as healthy as they are making it out to be. I don't think Sean is gay ... but I do think he cares about his image therefore caring about whatever marketable qualities he might have. If the celibate thing sells, then that is what he's going to go with (or at least his agents or telling him to do so). I can't blame him for the man that he is. IMO he wants $$$ (who doesn't) and his celibacy is what's making the headlines. Whether or not Cat's aware how the tabloids work is still a mystery to me. However, she is still willing to show up to support him at DWTS - for the opportunity... for the $$$, right?

I was such a hater during the whole Jason and Molly and Melissa fiasco, but they went back to normal life, preserved, did the long distance, for over a year and eventually got married. JP and Ashley left their busy life in NY to settle down and compromise in Princeton - and then got married. For Sean and Cat to be proclaiming their love and their wedding aspirations to the world after a few weeks in the Hollywood spotlight is silly to me.

is he the one making a big deal of this though? i think it may be tptb instead. whenever there has been a guy on the show that was a virgin they announce it from the rooftops. i've seen them do it over and over and over. honestly, i think the guys would probably rather not have it advertised as they get pigeonholed into some goody two shoes role.

Obviously everyone has the right to their opinion but think it's sad that gay is being thrown around in relation to Sean being celebate. Haven't we come further in this day & age?

Also, I wondered if they will get married if ABC is not at all involved. If ABC is not involved and they are left to their own devices I don't think a wedding will happen. But since his image is foremost in Sean's mind, he will make sure that there will be a wedding.

I agree that Sean isn't the one making a big deal out of it, however, I do believe he knew going into the season that TPTB were going to make it his MO. And knowing that, he still agreed to sign on the dotted line...

With Brooke.. he said he should not have let her give herself to him. That to me means they had sex. You don't need to feel guilty over just dating someone for 3 years when you are young. It was more than that IMO.

I've read he's been celibate since college too. On the question of Brooke, it was reported in US Weekly that they never had sex, using "a Lowe pal" as a source. So no direct quotes from Sean or Brooke on that one. They do have a quote from his other ex-girlfriend Ryan Ray saying his relationship with her was pure. Great article about his past relationships but highly suspect about the F3 can't wait to pass first base with Sean in the FS, esp not after how we saw all 3 girls react to getting the FS card which was with reservation.

Catherine said how she would expect the FS to be intimate, so she might have been thinking something would happen. It's also odd that in January or Feb. on GMA, when the virgin bachelor cover came out, she said she didn't know anything about that. I guess she was trying to cover for who the winner was, but I found that a little off. Were there any airport sightings of them going to the secret hide-a-way? And why did Shay say he has been back home ever since the bachelor filming ended? I think that was in Jan.

Actually, in a Seattle (I believe) interview, Catherine was asked about the headline and she said she felt badly for Sean that he was having to deal with that. And it was before the finale, I think.

Sean was often in LA during the airing- publicly.... and then he'd do a little disappearing act over the weekend. Sean's home base until WTA (after which he stayed in LA) was Dallas. I'd call that back home.

Precisely and that's probably how the producers got Catherine to use the word intimate - conversations can be intimate - snuggling and / or making out can be intimate (and we did see that they did do that in the FS) and by using that word in questions about that type of intimacy they got Catherine to say it and then edited it to make it look like she and Sean were intimate as in sexually intimate.

Wait...... with ALL due respect to Sean.... they didn't pull this out of their hats or thin air..... Sean HAD to have said this to somebody at one time or another... Maybe he didn't know they would run with it the way they have or maybe he did. That's something NONE of us know, but to say he NEVER said this is a mistake IMHO!!!

I read the same interview. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to take the commonly used phrase "born again Christian" and the word "virgin" and come up with "born again virgin" so it's not hard to see where some tabloid writer came up with it and the phrase stuck. And even the use of the worn "virgin" doesn't fit Sean either because he's not a virgin; he has admitted to "being with" 4 women and that means he isn't a virgin and can never be one again. What he is is currently is celibate until marriage and that's not the same thing - but it also isn't catchy enough for the tabloids who are making a much bigger deal out of this than Sean ever has.
