I see, so past couples that didn't get married fall under bogus, false, phony, sham, unauthentic, unreal. Like you said, it's only real/genunine/authentic/true/honest if they get married. Got it.
Sarcasm duly noted. In the real world ofcourse not but I thought we (you and I) are talking only about the couples from The Bachelor. If you read the previous entry to mine, I used the words 'real relationship' in responding to a previous poster who used it first.
The goal of couples who join the Bachelor/bachelorette is to get engaged at the end and marry. It's not to continue dating indefinitely. So according to those guidelines, if you do not get married after accepting a proposal then the relationship failed. Does that mean their short lived relationship is fake? Of course not. But some were built on fake/unauthentic promises and expectations.

We are talking about couples from the bachelor. It's kind of odd that you'd only consider a relationship real if they got married. No other bachelor (you could include Jason but he didn't marry his F1) has married his F1, so in your words, it would mean that their relationships weren't real/genuine/authentic etc. It's your opinion, it's not wrong. I just think it's odd that you'd only consider a relationship (from this show) real if the couple got married.
Considering The Bachelor is a 'reality show' and its dismal track record of its couples, my expectations were extremely low to start with. Going back to Sean and Catherine, I don't know them personally so I wouldn't know if their relationship is authentic or not. I like them as a couple, and do hope things work out despite my doubts.
Don't break anybody's heart, they have only one. Break their bones, they have 206.

Sean and Cat will make it or not, regardless of any of our opinions, but all opinions are welcome here, I believe.
Sean himself said that most of the furniture comes from china and they just repaint it.
One poster wanted to nitpick what I said about 'furniture making'. Everybody knows he joined the business just before the Bachelor. It may be part of his PR. Who wants to marry a model/ insurance agent? As I posted before Sean hasn't found a niche like Ryan=firefighter, JP- construction manager, or Jason a doting dad. He is still searching for his niche, and for this reason he might want stay longer in LA for opportunities IMHO.

And my point was only to look at what she gave up and what she got from her viewpoint rather than ours. She said she was "expired in Seattle" when questioned about a move to Dallas so it seems to me that what she had going on in Seattle wasn't necessarily all she wanted out of life; it also seems to me that she went on the show to find her "great love" - or at least that was why her friend Crista entered her for the show. I think we need to be open to the idea that from her perspective, rather than giving up everything - she got everything.

Hmmm...Very interesting tidbits on Sean's "furniture" business...

though.
You mean the Bachelorette? Some videos are still in youtube. Just search Emily Sean Bachelorette and you'll some dates. The hometown date is still there.
I want them to work out too. However they probably just need to put showbusiness a break. Which is probably hard for Sean cause you don't know his gameplan after showbiz. Go back to furniture making? I doubt it. But I see them marrying more than I see them breaking up. If they get married, they have no choice but to really work it out.
Lol ... I assume by the bolded quote you think Bill Gates writes code for Microsoft and Jack Welch assembled washing machines for GE when he was the CEO? Sean is co-owner of a company that creates custom, high-end furniture pieces for retail sales; his "furniture making" consists of contracting with actual furniture craftsmen to produce custom pieces based on client's desires. Apparently getting details and facts correct aren't a strong point of this forum, similar to how what Sean and Catherine actually say doesn't really mean much to the regular posters over here. I get it, sceptics are welcomed here, but why not just say "I'm a sceptic" and leave it at that instead of taking half-truths, rumors, and just downright falsehoods and using them to "validate" an opinion already formed?

I respectfully disagree. Found the artlcle that the pieces are made in china and they repaint it here.

Home also means working at The Factory Girl, a furniture business he co-owns in Forney, Texas. “We design everything. We have it made in China and ship it over to the States. We put on a custom finish and paint on it once it arrives to our warehouse. It’s not ultra modern, but it’s contemporary, sleek-lined.
I don't know where you got the idea that he custom finish a high end furniture 'based on customer desire'. And the products are not designed by them too. My mom imports furniture from Thailand and China and she saw similar products although they repaint them. It is pricey but certainly not high end. They're from China.

I don't think Sean is gay ... but I do think he cares about his image therefore caring about whatever marketable qualities he might have. If the celibate thing sells, then that is what he's going to go with (or at least his agents or telling him to do so). I can't blame him for the man that he is. IMO he wants $$$ (who doesn't) and his celibacy is what's making the headlines. Whether or not Cat's aware how the tabloids work is still a mystery to me. However, she is still willing to show up to support him at DWTS - for the opportunity... for the $$$, right?
I was such a hater during the whole Jason and Molly and Melissa fiasco, but they went back to normal life, preserved, did the long distance, for over a year and eventually got married. JP and Ashley left their busy life in NY to settle down and compromise in Princeton - and then got married. For Sean and Cat to be proclaiming their love and their wedding aspirations to the world after a few weeks in the Hollywood spotlight is silly to me.
I also find it odd. Especially since they (supposedly) haven't done the deed so many apparently find dirty. I guess I just don't get why watch this show when the premise is that the lead will sleep (have sex) with 3 different contestants, if not more, before the end. Please explain to me why someone who finds that sinful would watch the show in the first place?
I feel like I am being proselytized to and that's very disturbing. :shocked!:
I guess I have never felt like the lead HAD to sleep with anyone.....and could you point out the many post on here that leads you to say so MANY think it's dirty coz damn if I must not be needing to go back to school coz I sure haven't seen those. Oh and BTW I think sex is right up there with sliced bread and a chocolate sundae....; )
common misconception that people assume those of us who consider sex something to be shared in a marriage only also consider it 'dirty' or something to be avoided. Just the opposite!! That's kind of the point: sex leads to probably the two most awesome gifts the Good Lord could devise as a way to show love for his people by them being able to show love for each other: a means to bring forth children, and sharing The BIG 'O'
The point, from a Christian perspective, is not to abuse the gift. And I don't mean only have sex when you can have children.... That's not the idea. It's all about preserving it for within a marriage. And I'm Catholic so this is by no means purely an Evangelical concept
YES! I tend to thank God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit a whole bunch...especially :shocked!: during the precious heavenly gift of the big "O"

Dunno, that picture of her with Lesley, the bags under her eyes are really obvious. Must've been crying.
And why would Sean and Catherine be in GMA? Doesn't make sense.
Wedding should be the last thing in their minds right now. Bible says we can't serve two masters.
