I agree that Shay's silence is curious especially since she has been so vocal for so long about Sean's relationships. In 2008 when Sean was dating Brooke Sorenson Shay blogged:

Note to my brother Sean Lowe...if you don't marry this girl, we are going to kill you. She is WONDERFUL!

Of course we now know that Sean could never see Brooke as his wife and ultimately broke it off with her, so while Shay has been vocal about who she thinks Sean should be with, historically Sean doesn't follow Shay's advice or share her opinions. I think regardless of what Shay thinks and whether she approves or not it doesn't really matter to Sean; Sean is going to do what he thinks is right for him and not what Shay thinks is right for him.

IMO, that quote from Shay you found (good find, btw) - and the repurcussions that likely resulted - give us a glimpse into why neither she nor anyone else related to Sean or Catherine are taking to social media to blab on about Sean and Cat's relationship (that and the modicum of decorum and good sense both families possess ... :Smiley: )

They lasted a few rocky months.... the sexting story came out a couple weeks after the finale....

One thing to remember about the Bachelor v. the Bach/ette is that it is about two months from filming the finale to beginning to air the Bachelor, where they go from filming to immediate airing of the Bachelorette. So Sean and Catherine have already been engaged as long as Jef and Emily were (give or take).

He dated Brooke for around 3 years. I've seen pictures of them on Shay's blog from 2008-2009. His last relationship before going on the Bachelorette was with Ryan Ray. Not sure how long that relationship lasted but there is a picture of them together on Shay's blog as well. Both girls were Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Those are his two past relationships that are most well documented. There are probably more from his college and high school years we don't know about.

I think Sean could have left out that he never was in love with Brooke. That was not for the viewers to know. I felt badly for her. Even if she is happily married, that had to be most unpleasant to hear your ex talking about you on tv!

All I know is that he made that decision to be celibate some time after college. When exactly, no idea and I really don't care to know.
