Bachelorette 14 - Becca Kufrin - Media SM - Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #5

Basically my thoughts on the subject echo Ashley Spivey. Yes, our culture could use more tolerance and working together and understanding. America is kind of in a dark place right now, and so divided, and that is tragic. We shouldn’t vilanize other party affiliations, or cultures, or other ideals the way we basically are right now. 

But to reach across the aisle and try to “understand, and work with, and find common ground” with true hatred and intolerance? Nope. To me, those kind of extreme views ARE the root of problem, and it’s where I draw the line. I just think that kind of nonsense is on the wrong side of history, and I don’t want to support it in any way.  Even if it’s just a footnote in a Bachelorette silly love story, and never is actually part of what we see on screen.

I hope Becca does what is right for her, regardless, and doesn’t end up compromising part of herself. If she stays with Garrett, I hope he surprises everyone and becomes a better person. Idk. Just my opinion and kind of where I stand.

Becca is definitely in LA she posted on her story a song she was listening to and the time said 12:01pm which is PST time. She’s most likely on SHV with Garrett.

Watching all the promotion material of Becca puts a knot in my stomach. IMO the girl is desperate to give love and get love in return. I hope she is not prepared to sacrifice her integrity to secure it. Staying would be easiest, just modify the truth and believe/convince yourself change will happen "he loves me so much""I'm so lucky". B self esteem must b low but can be maintained 'if' he is changing for her. I fear B didn't have professional intervention with Ross and continues to make similar decisions. I hope TPTB stays out of her head and her mother flew to LA as soon as this erupted and will stays with her whilst she navigates this relationship and the negativity. Staying with her F1 also allows B to have her moment, this is her fairytale and I can not unfortunately see her shattering that at this stage. IMO it would take a v brave, confident woman to sit on the couch with CH at the end by herself. She did it last season but had the excitement of the lead as compensation. IMO the only difference from Bs situation and many other women is she is TB and subject to the views of the masses. I'm cynical about G changing, his total lack of respect for minority groups shown in his choice of 'likes' and follows imo is ingrained. The fact he is not owning his actions but trying to cover up also speaks volumes. HOwever I, and I'm sure the people he judges/disrespects would be delighted for him to prove me wrong.

And now I feel even more bummed that we can't feel more excited for Becca's season and watching her love story unfold. Maybe I'm projecting, but I just can't picture a girl like Becca choosing such a meathead.. I'm sure he's not a bad guy really, these politically divided times have brought out the worst in both sides, but it just seems like such a contrast in all fronts! Sure, love is blind, but come on... I have a feeling we're on the cusp of the first Bachelorette season in a while where the couple won't make it. She just seems like she's stuck in the phase where you fall for all the wrong guys before realizing that happiness is marrying your best friend. But okay, I'm getting ahead of myself. Maybe he will surprise us. But gosh I doubt it.

Very disappointed that it seems to be business as usual with Becca. Not even looking forward to tomorrow, tbh.
