@Skates - so are you saying that she was never reassured as speculated, otherwise she would have been 100% confident and shouldn't doubt? Or are you agreeing with me that because it is a competition she had doubts, nonetheless?

Because IA that this is a competition and that she probably realized that in as much as she has been reassured up to that point, there are doubts about his actions, his relationships with other girls - and doubts were creeping in.  Hence the "not shown" reassurance that night with her - because it would have been obvious that they had an understanding.  But this is speculation and not the supposed truth, so just wanting to understand your point

I don't think they have actually reconnected a lot. Although Nick has given Vanessa his reassurance at that moment in time, he is still exploring his feelings with the other girls....and, anything can happen as well as his feelings towards Vanessa...it may also change during those time periods...
Nick has previously been given reassurances and full attentions from the other parties, but yet has still lost out in the end....thus, he really wants to make sure that he is giving his time and attentions to the other girls in fairness to them ....before he picks his final choices...giving them their fair chances to interact with him...these interactions have made him realized later on that it has caused him to struggle more with his emotions...thus, feeling drain and helpless in the end...

I don't think Vanessa has any clue on what is happening with Nick and the other girls...she is probably just grasping the situations through what she sees and what people say about each other...

How many times have it ever occurred wherein the girl is so confident and would still be blindsided by incidents that can cause the relationship to fall apart...Nick's reassurance is not an indication that Vanessa is his final choice, but it is an admission that there are sparks or magic in their relationship... sparks that definitely make him feel differently comparing his feelings to the other girls...but, sparks could gradually diffuse with less contacts...thus, the only way Nick knows on how to sustain that connection is to let Vanessa know that he wants her to be honest with him...to let him know her anger and pain any time she feels it...so that he can react to those scenarios as they take place...and, with that he can always find his way back to her again whenever and wherever it may be...that is when you can feel the authenticity of how they feel for each other.... the trueness of those feelings--their frustrations, anger, pain and their happiness most specially when they are alone together....

Vanessa has mentioned her happiest or most memorable moment is when she receives her promise ring...until that actually happens nothing is set in stones...in regards to her relationship with Nick...

It is natural for Vanessa to feel sway at times on the intimate physical connections she sees from Nick with some of the other girls...that may have also resulted to arguments/fights creating the scenarios on confrontations that have taken place with Danielle L and Rachel partly...Vanessa may have spoken to Nick later on in her attempt for clarity on their relationship to sort things out between them...

Vanessa is so funny and full of life. Her IG videos are so amusing. She actually uses the filters in the most entertaining ways. I truly enjoy her real life glimpses.

^I agree! It's also why it puzzles me when people think she's just being extra or annoying. I think she's so funny and I would love to have her confidence. She pokes fun at herself and doesn't care what people think. I bet Nick loves that about her for sure!

Imo V has a problem with Nicks relationship with Corrine which can totally understand. She thought he would Send her home after pool pArty but she is still there and at the volleyball game it looked like their 'relationship' was in all the girls faces. This is where  'I have been patient' comes from. Plus the crying in the future clips 'I don't know where his head is'. If me I would be also b questioning. I keep thinking about his conv with V at pool party and for V she must start to wonder if lip service. Corinne is so far removed from V personality. V can probably rationalise all the other relationships. Plus I wonder if she feels N and C antics will be frowned upon by her family and friends if she is f1. Amo

Obviously there was a lot we didn't see with how heavily edited this episode was but I actually don't think Nick's relationship with Corinne was in the women's faces on the volleyball date. I'm saying this because there was one moment that stood out to me. It was when Corinne was reaching for him and there was this weird awkwardness because I think he went in for a hug but quickly realized Corinne was about to jump on him, as in full wrap her legs around him and so he sort of pulled back so they ended up having this weird sort of hug/not really hug moment.

And Nick quickly covered up the awkwardness by saying he thought Corinne was about to hit him. I suspected that after bouncy castle-gate with its grinding and leg wrapping and making out and of course getting chewed out by Vanessa for said behavior, he knew better than to have Corinne jump on him like that with Vanessa and the other women to be honest, standing right there.

Pool convo - the VO near the end where Vanessa says she doesn't think Corinne will get the rose, etc  is spliced more times than I can count to make 1 sentence  Anyone up for the count challenge?

That says to me there wasn't anything the storyboard could use to suggest a conflict so the edit just created a fake statement akin to pasting up an old school ransom note.

I really hope they show much more sides of Vanessa this upcoming episode -- obviously she has awesome attributes but what I've seen of her so far hasn't been 100% favorable in my eyes - I've also been let down by what I've seen. they never give the f1 a true showcase so I'm not holding my breath but curious to see what we will learn

I think we'll see a big part of her on her hometown date, since she's such a big family person and loves her job. When she takes nick to meet her students, it will most likely shine some light I'd imagine.

I watch her snaps and instagram stories and the way she is with her students is something special. She seems very joyful.  Very affectionate with others. And the girl is gorgeous!

Nothing I have seen has been negative. She's passionate and wants nick, doesn't want him to act a fool with Corrine and thought DLo wasn't right for him. I think she's right on both accounts. Looking forward to see them progress in the coming weeks.

Co-signed times three. My only issue regarding Vanessa is that I hate that they have clearly edited many conversations with her and Nick since I don't believe there was ever a group date where they didn't spend time together at all. But I have seen nothing on the actual show that makes me think anything negative about her or her character. She's cried, well so have others. She's been frustrated, well so have others.

Agreed on all counts on all the positives. Along with those nobody is perfect and...
Unfortunately for me, my own pet peeve has me picking up some scenes/behaviors that I've found annoying and suggestive that she comes off as wanting to be the center of attention, hyper-emotional, whiny, entitled and dramatic. Hopefully, we shall see something very different in the next episode.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion as I have every right to express it. I realize many people have a differing perspective in this thread and that's fine.

I don't think anyone was saying you don't have a right to express your opinion. You've seen negatives as you've stated. Others have not. And no, I don't think Vanessa is perfect just because I haven't seen these negatives in her. Frankly, as I noted above, I don't feel like I've seen enough of Vanessa to this point to have seen these negatives even if they were there.

There really is no doubt in my mind that it was Vanessa when she walked out of that limo. I think they both felt the same and that is why we have not seen much of Nick and Vanessa because it would be way to obvious. I bet she knows that he is having to keep Corrine around due to TPTB . I have not seen him act the way with any other woman the way he does with V. He knows very well how the process works and is just doing his job. I can't wait to see the hometowns and the final episode when he does pick Vanessa. JMO
