Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion

I'm almost sure (IMO) that it'll be a tv wedding. Both are so open to the idea, and I see no reason why they wouldn't be offered one. The planing with ABC will be fast and effective. I just hope Ben and Lauren will know early, if they need to plan it themselves, they would know to get on it.

Do they still get a paycheck if they get a televised wedding? I somehow vaguely remember when Trista and Ryan got married that they got $1M? Trista said it is one of the best decisions hey made because they had help starting their new lives together without having to worry about money because money is always one of those things couples fight about in a marriage.

I think that was smart for them. I hope that Ben and Lauren do have a televised wedding because I would love to watch my favorite couple ever from the Bach franchise to get married.

Yes they get paid but I don't think anyone has come close to the $1MM that Trista and Ryan got.

Yes, paid probably, but no where near Trista and Ryan's cool 1Million. Hey, even if they don't get paid at all, they wouldn't have to pay for the wedding. So that saves them and their families roughly 30K (which is the wedding average- and probably more for a more "high profile" BenLo wedding.) Though even if it's not televised, it's possible they can still get a lot of stuff comped. I think Des probably did.

IIRC the reason that Trista & Ryan got $1,000,000 was because the show had not included the rights to a wedding in the participant agreement so when ABC wanted to televise it, they had to negotiate the rights to do so from Trista & Ryan - who drove a hard bargain.

IMO ever since then, rights to a televised wedding are included in the participant agreement for the somewhat paltry sum of $10,000 for the couple (not apiece) per hour of air time. If the wedding isn't televised then the couple doesn't get paid anything.

Yes, I remember these details now too. Though I think I remember that Jason and Molly at least were able to negotiate for a slightly higher sum. Though that wedding was already 6 years ago, they've had 3 successes since, and maybe have locked down on what they are willing to offer through negotiations.

It all depends on MF if they will televise the wedding. The last big wedding they did was Sean and Cat and the ratings were horrible and so was the theme of the wedding. JMO.

I think it depends on whether the network feels it's worthy money wise/ratings.

Well I don't think you have to think it depends at all. To me if the franchise stop doing it . Then it should stop there . But they did with the latest BIP couple.I don't think the big or whatsoever. To me on MF world he could do what he wants to do . I mean why won't they do it let benlo's wedding to be on tv? A lot of people like them.For sure if they won't televise it their millions of adoring fans will be disappointed  and it shows here too at some point now by saying if they don't televise it . They will be disappointed . I am not saying they don't have televise wedding . For sure they will , no doubt plus benlo said they are open to it although they have a long way.jmo.

I agree. I doubt they will get TV wedding and I doubt they care. Maybe a few pictures in People mag. Still have a ways to go. They need to take the time to get to know one another in the real world. Hoping for the best. ;)
