I'm just shocked at Caila's inability to gain IG followers compared to the other girls. In the past week after being booted and spoiled as the next lead (supposedly), she's only gained around 30k followers. In the meantime JoJo's gained around 90k. Even if TPTB don't give a crap, it's still pretty obvious IMO who viewers are interested in and who they aren't. Oh well.

I think part of that is JoJo has a big following who are still hanging their hopes on the fact she is the F1 and that she is part of the romantic couple.  Whereas, Caila is not part of that couple.

I doubt it. Even Becca's gained more followers during this season than Caila even though she was cut weeks ago. And I mean this season only, not even talking about the 400k or so she had before her second appearance.

Maybe people are flocking to JoJo so she can help set them with with those sweet, sweet social media contracts, where they get money for hawking overpriced crap that nobody needs, to people who don't know any better.  Like what Becca does for a "living".  

Caila's going to be tied up, so I imagine the producers will buy her followers if she needs them, and cover all her social media communications like they did for Kaitlyn.  

Whatever "numbers" Caila has either don't matter or can be created by ABC. She'll do just fine.

Someone in the WTA thread said on they saw on the news the bachelor was filming in DFW...

They reported that Roberto would be the Bachelor before and were wrong. At this point I think mags are just going off each other and the fact that she was seen filming. The only accurate source to me, is when it's actually announced by ABC/fleiss.

I don't believe they ever did. They reported that he was in serious talks to do the show (http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/roberto-martinez-the-next-bachelor-2012276), he wasn't interested (http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/roberto-martinez-has-no-interest-in-being-the-next-bachelor-201266), and that Emily Maynard talked to Roberto and gave him advice about being a lead (http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/emily-maynard-made-a-secret-phone-call-to-roberto-martinez-2012137). Unlike RS, they never came out and said that he was the lead and that the contract was signed, sealed, and delivered. Unless I'm forgetting, I don't believe they've ever been wrong about a lead announcement. Because they get their information directly from ABC.

The only two scenarios I see it not being Caila are:
1) They change their mind after seeing the public reaction.
2) It was never supposed to be Caila, this was all an extravagent foiler, and US played along because they were promised special scoop in the future.

I think those two options are pretty unlikely, but fingers crossed! IMO.

Becca was F2 last season and this is her second stint on a reality show. Jojo is still in the running this season and this also is her 2nd stint on a reality show. These two reasons may be why they are more SM savvy and have more followers and these are also the reasons I would prefer to have Caila s the Lead as opposed to people who are a show away from being expert reality tv stars.

Becca or Jojo are slowing stepping into Bukowski's league. IMO

This isn't really JoJo's second stint on a show, her brother was the one on a show before. JoJo was on like a few minutes of one episode, no one knew who she was before this.

IMO the social media following is just that fans are more interested in Lauren, JoJo, and Amanda. Caila having far less followers than all of the top 4 shows this.

Yeah it's a real pity Caila isn't out there paying IG followers so she has more. Just a real shame.

Well it's pretty obvious past contestants have so why should these girls be any different?

Whoever is Bachelorette is going to have whatever they need to "look" the part.  They get wardrobe, hair, makeup, etc.  If they need more attention in the media, those opportunities are created.  If they need photos taken, those opportunities are created too.  Social Media following is included in the package.

I agree this is only JoJo's first real foray into media TV, so if they do change things up considerably and throw her in the ring, I'm sure they'll take care of her too in whatever way "showcases" her perfectly for the story they create for her.
