The Bachelor 20 - Ben Higgins - Episode 9 - Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Going out on a limb here, but, if that "Honestly, I do love you" in the daylight is to Caila (which I'm not totally convinced it is) and it is followed by something along the lines of "but I just have stronger feelings for two other women" and then he sends her home.. that could cover all the bases of what we know.

He has said ILY to two different women (Caila and Lauren), and he has also admitted to loving the Final 2 women (he may not have said it aloud to JoJo, but it is understood if he said it to Caila and has stronger feelings for the other two).

This would put us into the LCDs with him only having said it aloud to Lauren, but knowing that he also has feelings of love for JoJo as well. It would still put Lauren firmly in the lead heading into the last episode, but I am sure he could do some convincing enough ITMs to get in our heads and let us know he loves JoJo too, even if he hadn't actually said it out loud to her.

Just speculating here, of course. I honestly have no clue how this is all going to go down, other than feeling pretty confident he and his F1 are past all of it and happy.

I don't really get his worry though. They weren't supportive because they figured he's not that into her, since he was giving some strange political answers about expecting to have lots of good conversations with her (say what?). If he was to propose then I don't see why they'd still be thinking he's not into her. Ben just needs everyone to love him. I bet he falls for JoJo just to prove the brothers wrong (in his mind).

No offense, but what a terrible reason to propose! You are right though, if he was in love with her and picks her then her brothers would be fine with him because he didn't lead them, or their sister, on. I worry, a little, because this isn't even as big a deal as Ashley's sister and JP. Ashley fought a little with her sister and still picked the man she loves so.... Man this is really getting in my head.

This is what he wrote about that. I'm not sure what to make of it, especially when most think that the leads don't write their blogs. Although his blogs are really lengthy and sound very much like him IMO

Watching the show now, I hope they can see how incredibly serious I was about JoJo and that I just wasn't ready or in any position to tell them that I was definitely going to propose to their sister. If I was holding back on my answers or being too political that was the only reason why.

What confused me the most was that walking away from my talk with them I thought everything was totally fine. If they had concerns I wanted them to bring them up and ask me, so when I walked into the kitchen and Matt was talking about how I had been coached or had brainwashed JoJo I was really, really confused. But I am glad that he said something and I didn't walk out of there thinking everything was fine when it clearly wasn't. But I will say that I walked out of there with real questions about whether or not that family would accept me or even liked me at all. I knew that my relationship with JoJo was still really great, but I really had no clue with where I stood with her family when that night was over.

^^IMO the brothers know all about coaching - because they were coached by tptb to ask certain questions and be attack dogs.

Ben is just insecure and takes everything personally. JMO.

Hence, the blindside...we all think he picks Lauren - In a weird way, I hope he also tells Jojo he loves her...even though I want him to pick Lauren.

IMO there is no way he is saying ILY to Caila. It wouldn't even make sense. He is in love with Jojo and Lauren and that's why the FRC is going to be brutal. He will choose the one he can't say goodbye to and his heart will break a little for the one he is sending home. i'm really inclined to believe that all the hype this time is real and that he indeed has fallen in love with both. Good luck to him figuring it all out

Even if it is obvious going into the finale that Lauren is F1, tptb had Ben in such an emotional state about the ILYs that there will still be drama. Does he tell f1 that he said ILY to another? (Like Kaitlyn told Shawn re: Nick). How will Lauren take it? Does it put acceptance of a proposal in doubt? (Hard to know with the mag article that says he was "on the fence" when he met with Neil Lane, but hey, the leaks aren't always accurate).

If he doesn't tell JoJo ILY at some point, how will she be blindsided as an F2? If you are going into a possible proposal, those three sweet little words have to be uttered, IMO otherwise F2 kind of knows deep down they could NOT be F1, hence they are not "blindsided."

Ahh, he tells Jojo he loves her erasing some of her doubt...she might begin to believe it's going to happen - he tells her he'll never blindside her...that would be devastating if someone told me they loved me, never would blindside me, and then waited to the regular FRC to let me go... Jojo doesn't seem like a wallflower that is just going to say, "Okay, Ben...have a wonderful little perfect life with Lauren..." Lauren, I think, would be more graceful. Hurt, crying, but more like, Okay, I just need to get out of here...Jojo has a little firecracker in her, and I could see her staying to give everyone a show, making Ben a total MESS!
