There are some that think that due to RS's info, and others who continue to sleuth to try and figure out what happened at the FRC since RS doesn't know.
ETA: let me re word that. Others continue to sleuth out what happened at the FRC since RS doesn't know and some sleuthers don't care what he says.

No one can speak for everyone, of course.
What RS has said is simply what he believes due to his source or sources. Just another piece of the puzzle. There are those that will take what he says as gospel. There are those that will refuse to believe him and there are those that will fall somewhere in between.

Not saying I would choose differently either. Sometimes when you think "I wouldn't do that for all the tea in China", you find out your bottom line is really that you'd do it for a paycheck if that's what you need to survive. You might not feel good about it, but you might do it.
My point really was that IMO I can't say that Kaitlyn wouldn't do something because I can't say what pressures she might have been under or even what lies she might have been told. For example - they might have told Kaitlyn after they knew that she was not going to choose Nick as F1 that they wanted her to film a scene where he would propose and she would reject his proposal. And when she balked at doing that, they might have told her "Look - Nick knows you're going to reject him - we told him you were. We just need some dramatic footage because we want him to be the next bachelor so do him this favor and let us get some great footage so he has a great season." Of course they would have been lying to her because they wouldn't have told Nick any such thing - they would have told Nick "she wants a proposal because she wants to marry you. You're F1 my friend. You're going to have beautiful babies - invite me to your wedding."
To underscore your point, Lucas, I am reminded of the famous, or more appropriately infamous but nonetheless classic, research study on obedience conducted by Yale psychologist Stanley Milgram in the early 1960's. What $4 and the call to obedience made these research participants do (or at least were led to believe they did) would make your hair stand on end. I just heard about a recent replication study which unnervingly had similar results.

BKay wrote:Now if only Nick or Shawn would post a pic obviously in a climate like AZ, standing over a grill where food for two is laid out. A little 1F action would be welcome!
AZ would be a perfect place right now to hide out indoors somewhere as the weather sucks. It is too hot, humid and gross this time of year to want to do anything outdoors. I can barely get from through the parking lot to my car without feeling dehydrated. Blegh.
I was going to (insert any productive activity) but then well...........Nick

Doc I was unaware of such a study but at this point in my life am by no means surprised by the results. As I wrote that post I was thinking about many things related to this show and particularly something said by Sarah Gertrude Shapiro (EP of UnREAL) and her time as a producer for this series. A staunch feminist who believed she would not work on a show like The Bachelor for $50M said when push came to shove, the price to set aside her ideals was nothing more than a paycheck when she needed one. Same results I think as Milgram found.
IMO the warped minds that produce this show are all too aware of this aspect of human nature and exploit it very skillfully which is why it's difficult to say what someone would or wouldn't do under a set of circumstances.

Re: Nick Viall - Bachelorette 11 - *Spoilers - Sleuthing* - Discussion #4
Haven't we heard that the producers/handlers are MASTERS in the devious art of psychological manipulation? I don't believe they ham-handedly threaten anybody to do anything, but rather, suggest, coerce, needle, bribe and whatnot, so by the end of it, the "victim" probably thinks it was really their only option, and sometimes even their own idea! And on top of this, we have the whole "Stockholm Syndrome" thing going on, so they actually trust and rely on production and believe they are looking out for their best interests.
If Kaitlyn really did allow Nick to propose and then rejected him, I'm sure she was also given some BS reason why doing this would be good for Nick (who also may have been coerced into proposing when he really wasn't ready). And after the fact, if they truly had been good friends previously, I could see her feeling bad, realizing how much she hurt him, and reaching out to him privately without the producers' knowledge/consent and explaining how she had been misled, resulting in them patching up their friendship. That would explain why he is now so supportive of her on SM, because they realize they were BOTH victims of the big bad producers.

I would agree with nearly 100% of all you've posted with one tiny exception - which is that they have also threatened - probably as a last resort - when suggestion and other less drastic methods haven't worked. I always approach the subject of producer manipulation with the mindset that there's almost nothing that they won't do, though physical torture is probably off the table.
ETA: Docnash14 I just read a synopsis of the Stanley Milgram experiment and concluded that I may have been wrong - physical torture may not be off the table (just kidding). It's a chilling experiment with chilling results to say the least.

I have been a long time fan of Nick and it is so sad that he is being portrayed in a negative light. I for some reason feel like he may be a smokescreen to shawn and kaitlyn relationship. Not sure yet were the edit will go.No denying their chemistry is off the charts thus far, is it love or lust is the question they are asking from bachelor perspective. I hope he gets his happy ending at least he pursued his look for love with kaitlyn and followed his heart.Nick seems to be a very kind and passionate person with strong attributes for any woman to desire. Kaitlyn will have a hard decision until the end and may be overwhelming for her at the final rose. I like kaitlyn when she is with nick being herself.Shawn's edit reminds me of JP, so it makes it hard to decide who will be f1. Wishing nick the best. With the editing of Nick right now and blogs overconfident CH comments game over, makes me think nick will be f2. Things may change throught as the episodes are shown. LOVE THEM TOGETHER.
