Re: Chris Soules - Whitney Bischoff - Bachelor 19 - Discussion
^ Interestingly,Whit tweeted that the interview today will discuss balancing career and love life. IMO,that she is passionate about her career is one of the things that attracted Chris to her, because he is passionate about his farming career.
IMO, that she adjusted her career role to have flexibility is a sign the engagement is the real deal. She's not wearing rose colored glasses that Chris should be the only passion in her life. She keeps her passion for her career while at the same time making an important adjustment to increase the odds that the relationship will last, and allow them to meld their individual lives in a way where they are both fulfilled.

Then they worked out a position for her where she's more of a spokesperson. That's good for business and she can still continue with the job even if the relationship tanks, so they're not risking anything. Not saying I find anything fishy about her work trip, just that even if the relationship hits the rocks, it doesn't really impact her job.
If she had quit the job, which I totally don't think she should do, then I'd take it as a sign that this engagement is the real deal. But changing positions, or essentially accepting a promotion? Not a sacrifice, just smart no matter what happens.
Do we know for sure it was a promotion? It could be a lateral move or she could have taken a pay cut. IMO, the timing of the job switch lends credibility that she was doing it with her relationship with Chris in mind. Chris has said in interviews that he wouldn't have done DWTS unless Whitney was on board with it. I would guess that when they were discussing it her job was part of that discussion and in true Whitney fashion she already had a plan.
OTOH, She may have decided on the job switch before DWTS even offered him the gig. It's entirely possible that the job switch had to do with her move to Arlington and DWTS put that on hold for a bit.

I am missing the logic in the thought that quitting her job would be a sign that the engagement is the "real deal." IMO,it is the exact opposite. If she quit the job she loves,it would suggest to me that she is still in the bubble and rushing to give up her life without time for the relationship to grow in real life. Instead, smart lady that she is,she found a very practical solution to keep her career and balance that career with her relationship with Chris.

They always want us to think they'll pick or want to pick the f2 and/or that they're having a horrible time making a decision. There could have been a bunch of comments favoring the f1 but we seldom see those. If they don't get what they want from manipulation they just Frankenbyte. I've learned over the ridiculous number of seasons I've watched that you can't take what they show without a huge grain of salt. The result is that there's always those who don't believe the f1 is really their pick even when that's not the case. Not a good start in an already unreal situation. The way I look at it is that only Chris knows what was in his head & heart and he appears to be very happy with Whitney. That's all that really matters imo.
I agree the show is over and we can all agree to disagree and just keep beating our own dead horses...
Yes, the edit was misleading but IMO random "frankenbytes" just don't hold water to the actual cutting and piecing together needed to make the outcome more plausible. In fact this is one year the finale edit was balantly trying to lead everyone to one logical conclusion....
Not only did TPTB make it seem like Whitney was the only one to get a full day with Chris and but they also swapped the real order of the LCDs because had they shown the lead begging his F2 the day before he proposes to the F1 it would have completely undermined the outcome, IMO.
Yes, every season they say it's hard but not really. However, I think this season it was. I'll point again to the BIL when he says to the family "all the reasons to go "X" are analytical ones but the reason to go "Y" is love and chemistry" about Chris' decision. Those words aren't frankenbyte or spliced in. We see him say it and I agree it was heart vs. head at the end. Chris chose his head, IMO. That doesn't mean that wasn't the right choice for Chris to make for his future.
In fact, I think, most viewers were left with the general feeling of how could he not pick Whitney - it seemed the most logical and obvious choice based on what he said he came on the show to find and given what we saw both women say to him and his family over the 90 mins. Even to those of us who questioned if he followed his heart could see that.

Re: Chris Soules - Whitney Bischoff - Bachelor 19 - Discussion
any idea why he is doing the dwts ? Sorry to ask but I haven't heard his legitimate reason why he is in dwts ? Except the one i read he did it for his mom . And it seems they are not in wedding planning mood according to them. But of course there is nothing wrong if they will going to get married later . Importantly they need to restart again after all these glitz and glamour are over which is the real test. Because that is everything when things get real. It is easy to do the talking in interviews about the future but most important is to see how you do it like what others saying falling in love is easy and can happened on this show but it takes work every day. That is when the reality will start . I really don't pay attention about others saying these two have a good shot among these couples came out on this show blah blah . To me the only measurement is when his dwts season over and be back to normal life and yet to see if she will be moving in Arlington right away coz she said at their AFTR that she is moving to Arlington Iowa but in the future . So to me that means they might to have a long distance relationship for the mean time while engaged and not married . Until then right now we just have to watch and see. And they are having a good time with being in dwts and in LA . Wish them all the best.

"challenges are what makes life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.real love is when you are completely committed to someone even when they are being completely unlovable.a strong marriage requires two people who chose to love each other even on those days when they struggle to like each other.a great marriage doesn't happen when the perfect couple gets together. It happens when an imperfect couple gets together and learn to enjoy each other's differences."

I think I heard him say he was doing it for fun. Certainly the money could not hurt.
This is my thinking: Being a nurse has great flexibility in many facets.
The fact that Whitney is starting this new job description during the time that Chris is working on DWTS is great. It gives them both something to work on and at the same time lets them ease into their relationship. By the time DWTS is over for Chris, Whitney will have synced into this new job.
Whitney and Chris spent xtra time sneaking visits to the farm during their season. This was in addition to safe house visits. So that indicates the desire to live life on the farm as it is.
As so many have stated time will tell as it always does. In the meantime, I think they are doing the best they can.

Last season's ette quit her job to focus on her relationship and get to know her F1 better.
IMO Whitney has done everything right. I wouldn't have agreed with her decision if she quit her job. The worse thing to do IMO is give up everything and in her case, which I'm sure she worked hard for. She has a beautiful condo, and a good secure job. If the relationship is strong, which IMO it appears to be, then everything else can be worked out.
Of course time will tell, we can say that about all the former leads and their chosen F1.

The on-air exposure certainly should have boosted awareness and interest. But I am talking about what's happening 4 months later in real world: Chris and Whitney engaged.
Whitney's employer is a fertility lab ... she's not promoting hamburgers or mascara. It's absolutely critical that any spokesperson in the medical profession is considered trustworthy, knowledgeable, reliable and credible. Patients about to go though in vitro fertilization are incredibly vulnerable and are about to form a relationship with the business that could last a long time. Imagine how those patients would feel if they discover that the Bachelor gig and Whitney's relationship with Chris is purely a sham and that the patients were essentially lured into the business by a ruse. That would totally backfire on her employer.
And, now I am confused ... how would quitting her job make her engagement to Chris the "real deal"? Gosh, I must have missed that memo 21+ years ago when I got engaged. In fact, I kept right on working throughout my engagement, my marriage and the birth of two children. Does that make my marriage and family not the real deal because I am still working today?
Like I already said, I don't think Whitney should quit her job by any means, especially since she doesn't have to to make things work. All I meant was that this readjustment with her job is nothing irreversible or major like say quitting one's job or getting a job where he lives. She is still working at the same place at the same city and if things go sour in the relationship she can go straight back to her old life. That's why I don't take the job readjustment as a sign that they're madly in love. It just means they're trying to make a go of it. Or she just wants to live in LA while Chris is there. I never thought the relationship was a sham. Clearly they are trying, but I wouldn't assume they're solid, just because she can now work from home if she wants to. According to Whitney they haven't spent much time together since the finale and they've only lived together for a week now. Only time will tell if it's the "real deal".
I also don't think anyone's gonna change their minds about fertility treatment just because their coordinator goes through a public breakup. They're not marrying her, just learning what's involved in their treatment. And even if they do break off the engagement in the future, it doesn't make the relationship a sham, so I don't see what the big deal would be for her employer. The lab were featured on the show before she was even picked.

^^ They are still dating, even though they are engaged, which is so backwards, but it's part of this goofy show. The real test is when they go back to Arlington. Then it gets real. Time will tell if they will stay together in the long run, but as Jillian said in MM's spreecast, this isn't real life right now living in LA and Chris on DTWS. Whitney is smart to keep her job, IMO because she might just need it down the road if things don't work out.

Yep...my thoughts too.
I am just a fan who enjoyed their Bachelor story and now DWTS. Everything that I have seen from them in past couple weeks makes sense to me. I don't like to see excess gushing or posting on SM as that always makes me suspicious. I don't think any couple should drop everything to focus on the relationship. ..too much pressure and unrealistic.
I like his family and enjoy seeing his parents and sisters too. I hope Chris & Whitney make it as they all seem like good people and I especially admire Whitney. Chris has been a lot more fun than I ever expected.
All that said...if they break up in May, oh well. .. that's reality TV for you. I will already be onto the next reality show couple with Married at First Sight season 2 and next Bachelorette and whatever shomance DWTS cooks up.
