Casting was more important this season than most though. You (and a few others) pegged Whitney as F1 in real time after the mural date leaked. I think your crystal ball deserves some credit this season. Too bad, I didn't listen and save myself some time.

There are different kinds of love including lust .. Becca fell into the lust pile .. Whitney fell into the love pile.....

That is the job of the producers/editors in a nutshell...every season. They have to hide the connection with the F1 or there would be no show. They have to show some of it of course, otherwise the viewers would be left scratch

. They have to make sure there is at least one other plausible person the lead could be interested in. That person becomes the F2 and generally, that is the person who is shown to have the "connection" for viewers. It's the same every season. Now some can see through that, but many average viewers who just goes by what they see on their screen, typically fall for it.

Look at it this way. If early on there is someone who you think the lead has a connection with, but all of a sudden, about half way through the season, someone else is being thrust at you and their "connection" becomes the focus while you barely see the first person you thought they had a connection with...but, they are still getting roses and there aren't any real issues going on with (comparing Britt and Whitney here), then chances are the newer connection is F2 and the original is F1. The editors are very good at what they do. Even seasoned sluthers may come to question themselves. I know I often do, but then, I take a deep breath, and remember how the show and editing works and generally come back to my senses.

^That's all very reasonable, but ATFR is live and he still seemed to have more chemistry with his F2. He was checking her out from head to toe when she came on stage, hugged her way too long, hung on her every word while fidgeting with his hands and was so quick to defend their connection that CH had to cut him off before he stuck his foot in too deep.

Just read the US magazine and I think they nailed it. He was crazy about Becca and was very confused till the end . Chris even said he could definitely see the love that Chris had for Becca. But he knew that Becca was not ready for a proposal or wiling to move at that time. He did beg Becca till the end and saw that she was not going to budge. So he picked Whitney the one he knew was ready to settle down and move for him. He has now fallen in love with Whit but Becca did have his heart during the show and the after. Not exact words since I did read it standing in line at the grocery store.

Sprite gave an excellent response above and I do agree. We all view things differently so it doesn't make one person right and the other wrong.

TPTB focused on the Chris & Becca rubbing hands which was a big contrast to his physicality with Ashley I. (the other virgin). I always thought Ashley I. was going to swallow Chris alive when they kissed! The hand thing was supposed to be Chris & Becca's thing, but then they showed Chris & Whitney doing it too. Weird, huh? Of course Chris's "thing" was supposed to be sharing feelings through poetry / secret admirer notes, but he never wrote a single one this season. Oh well. I guess that was just how Chris showed "love" on MeandI's season.

All the contestants and leads know what is expected of them. The contract, phycological testing, producer prodding, etc. make it very clear. Maybe acting is too harsh a word. Chris said and continues to say that he loves Whitney and wants his future with her. He's said multiple times that he just wants to move on - with her. He's also been very considerate in his comments about all of his rejected contestants. We'll see.

I agree with all the above! Thats what I keep saying.......the unedited ATFR! If you watch really close too....after they sit down, Becca says, "its so good to see you." Then Chris started to say something back but couldnt get it out and then swallowed hard/gulped. He was clearly uncomfortable. If he didnt "feel" something for her, he wouldnt have acted like that....he would have been over it by then.

I'm sorry but I keep hearing about the hug at the AFTR...Chris is just a hugger. Every time I see him anywhere, he is hugging someone. Of course he is going to hug his F2. He is not going to act like a jerk like JPab. He clearly cared about her and some of his other longer lasting ladies. I'm of the firm belief that tptb knew this about Chris and told Britt to do the hug thing because he would respond. It just seems to be his normal modus operandi. Nothing really outstanding there for me.

Why is it Juan is brought up so much ? Chris and him are totally two different people. Even Chris H and Sean thought the hug was to long so I disagree that he hugged the other contestants as long as he did Becca.

I just watched the beginning of Becca on ATFR - The Hug….I think she is saying something at the end of that hug as I hear Chris respond right before they part. I think that is why he continued to hug her, to hear what she was saying. I also think that he tried very hard with all of the women both at the WTA and Becca to actively listen and talk to them. He turned his body towards them respectfully, listened carefully, made eye contact and tried to answer as best as he could.
