I agree, he is hurt and the SM backlash he received all season and the cold reception from Andi he received at ATFR certainly has not helped him to move on. Yes, that guy's tweets are gross, but so is being called a stalker with a pedophile stare.
isittrue you know I love Nick. I do not love the 33 yr old Nick that would follow that weird SM stalker. Unfollow him Nick. Get it together!
No, I agree with you, as fellow Nick fan, I'd like nothing more than to see him unfollow the guy. Like you said, he is probably still hurt and sometimes people lash out in different ways when they are hurt. It's no excuse though and it does him no favors when he is already under a microscope thanks to the show and its aftermath. I do not always agree with what Nick does but sometimes I think people are just looking for reasons to find fault with him even if he did not follow this SM stalker.

All of this speculation about whether or not Nick is bitter (again, we do not know for sure) makes me wonder if there was some grain of truth to that US article that said he had gone through all the stages of grief over the relationship and now was bitter. Again, through his pictures and majority of SM, he appears happy so who knows? We may just be overanalyzing things too much here. We don't know the whole story or Nick, so all we can do is speculate or guess. I am still a fan and if he's hurting, I do feel bad for him.

I don't know if the real life Nick is polarizing with people who know/meet him, but he has certainly become a polarizing figure on this board.
And I agree that even if he did finally get his "closure", he doesn't appear to be completely over it yet. I attribute that partly to what I suspect is a highly competitive nature (salesman not comfortable with losing), and the backlash from the terrible edit he got compounding and further fueling his heartbreak.
Some seasons seem to end with no real "hard feelings" among the cast that a bit of time and distance can't resolve, but I fear that this may not be one of those seasons.

I agree with all of you who say that guys twitter is offensive and just beyond wrong. No excuses.
But I also don't have an answer why does Nick follow him. Anyone of us as the matter of fact.
Because for all we know, we can follow anyone we want, without having to actually like them, think fond of them or agree with them.
We are a living proof of that.
For that little that I got to "know" Nick ... I also noticed that he likes to go against the tide.
He is a maverick.
Top gun anyone?
Don't know if that gives you any answer, but I wouldn't exclude the possibility that he doesn't want to unfollow the guy, because he knows what the uproar it causes ... because in the same few days he started to follow some people and then unfollowed them ... but he left that guy ... and Nick does read this forum (I'm almost certain he does).

Sad. That is why I tell my 15-year-old niece who has aspirations of being on tv one day - to never ever go on a reality show!! I preach the same to my kids but they are all under the age of 8, so I still have time to preach that message!

IA. I think we started noticing something shady was going on in terms of hard feelings when Kelly started tweeting all that stuff about Nick with Andi sitting right there. Definitely they won't be friendly any time soon or ever.ironcat wrote:I don't know if the real life Nick is polarizing with people who know/meet him, but he has certainly become a polarizing figure on this board.

Big: You know, Manhattan has a lot of beautiful women.
Carrie: What an amazing observation!
Big: But the thing is, after awhile, you just wanna be with the one who makes you laugh.

Breakups are never easy and now especially when SM is involved.

This season unfortunately there appear to be a lot of hurt feelings, I think on all sides, and I believe all sides have some reason to feel hurt.
It is unfortunate.

Funny you should mention that because I was reviewing what was written in the US Weekly article last night. It's common for the show to release some "inside information" at the end of the season to a select few tabloids so that they can write articles to highlight the drama that will unfold at the end of the season; anticipation of impending drama gets viewers to tune in to see it. If a tabloid would be consistently way off base they would lose readers and thus usefulness to the show so the show will make sure they are mostly right by giving them inside information. This season I believe the show picked US Weekly to supply information to for an article.
That article specifically said:
"When Dorfman heard her also-ran wanted to meet up she made it very clear that she didn't want to see him"
...
Rebuffed for the second time, he transformed from heart-broken dumpee to bitter ex. "It's been incredibly hard for him. He really thought she was going to pick him" says the insider. "He's almost gone through the stages of grief: believing that she was going to come to her senses then, and now just feeling really angry and upset."
The first statement was I believe confirmed after the finale aired with Andi taking the position that they would meet on the ATFR anyway. And (of course) had they actually met beforehand it would have been filmed (too good to pass up) and would have been aired anyway; a private / off camera meeting was impossible.
Parts of the second statement are, IMHO, very plausible. It's consistent with the plane video (alluding to a Mesnick potential) and also what that same article said about a change of heart and decision similar to what (appeared to have) happened on Jason's season.
Leaving us only to speculate on the "bitter ex" comment and the "just feeling really angry and upset" comment as to whether this article was accurate about that or not. If accurate, then Nick was a bitter ex, angry and hurt before he ever set foot on the ATFR stage (because this article was in print and on newsstands and first commented on here on July 18; well before the live ATFR aired).
To some I suppose this doesn't make any difference and to others it might be a significant difference.

I think the fact that he may still be upset about it shows that he really thought what they had was real. Then he learns that he may have been seriously led on. I'd be pissed too. Plus everything he has gone through in the past that we heard about on the show, supports the fact that he doesn't get over things easily. It doesn't make him a bad person to me!

To me either! Haven't we all been hurt at one time or another - the difference is not in front of millions of people on national tv. I say he has justification to be upset.
