I have to respectfully disagree with this statement. Perhaps that would work in a court of law, but we're talking about a conversation that no one would even think they are being recorded. I don't think Nick, or anyone else, when in a situation of hurt, or distress, is going to hesitate speaking to family or someone he can confide in, to look up the rullings on the privacy act, before he dials that number.
Except when one has signed an agreement to do much more than HESITATE, but to shut the he@@ up for the next two months.
I will never muster an ounce of sympathy for his loud, boorish take-down of his experience on the show in the first five minutes he had his phone back in an airport / on a plane.
It is shocking arrogance and disrespect to the show.
Really, he is not a 15 year old with a broken heart who chooses to talk to his mom in a public place on the flight home from summer camp... he is a 33 year old sophisticated business man who entered into a contract to appear on a television show, while dating. Sales rep's are bound by confidentiality clauses on sensitive internal business information, sales leads, etc. He was flagrantly and intentionally breaching a very serious confidentiality clause (with real $$$ business stakes for the production company and the network) in that moment, and he absolutely knew it and did it on purpose, and he simply ... GOT ... CAUGHT. I don't have a shred of sympathy for his privacy "rights" ... and he had none anyway.
Nick was thinking of Nick. Period. Nick got what he deserved. He should be apologizing to the network and NZK ... as I am sure he groveled and did more than once. Note he is not complaining of being recorded in a public place.
So, with respect and affection to many board pals, I have strong judgmental views about his recklessness in that moment.
I have handled dozens of trade secret violation and non-compete cases over the years, all triggered by salesman who act just like Nick did here. He was very, very wrong to be on his cell phone at that time, in that way, in that place, and I guarantee he knows it.
Nick himself even said TPTB are not happy with him. I am sure there were many conversations about his "mistake" on the plane. He messed up and he knows it. After listening to some post show interviews he definitely made the decision on his own to "call Andi out." I thought at first TPTB made him do it, now I know that is not true. Not to say they didn't "encourage" him. They know he was hoping for a Mesnick, which imo was absurd, but TPTB ran with that thought in his head.
Nick was definitely being Nick and got what HE wanted. Andi and Josh have moved on and even said in a recent interview that it seems like so long ago. They have made it perfectly clear they want nothing to do with him--I don't blame them--and seems like Nick is finally moving on too. I see no sadness or remorse from Nick, which is his prerogative, but only adds to the "distaste" left in viewers minds.

Not all viewers fell that way. Nick does not need to show remorse or sadness she lead him on till the very end and he had strong feelings for Andi. I am sure he is over that after seeing the real Andi on the AFTR ceremony . He will find a true woman that will love him like he deserves. I would think that the JODI fans would concentrate on them instead of finding fault with Nick who is more popular than this couple at this time.IMO

We can't really gauge that Nick is more popular than the couple of Andi and Josh, and really, it doesn't matter. Grass won't grow under his feet and he'll find someone for him. I hope he's the next bachelor just because I want to see how he handles dating/leading on 24 women to get to the F1.

As you indicated, popularity is subject to personal opinion. However, in looking at numbers on SM, Nick is now at 27,200 followers on twitter and 43,000 on IG. Josh now has 155,000 followers on twitter and 447,000 on IG. Andi just passed the 300,000 mark on twitter and has 688,000 followers on IG.

Re: Nick Viall - Bachelorette 10 - Discussion - Thread #6
I think that discussion Monday has allowed Nick to move on. I think the couple has done the same. I'm glad for all of them. Now, I might have a different opinion of any of them if I'm still hearing about "the talk" come next week. I think they all have some learning and growing to do, IMO. Having said that, other than said comment and how it was said, I don't think Nick has anything to be remorseful about with regard to ette. After all, this show was aired for millions of viewers to watch. Don't want anything to come out, don't sign up for this show. On the other hand, then I wouldn't have anything to comment about.

It tells me a lot about this couple when magazines and media really could care less about them. I think the majority of people just do not care about them. I could careless how many people follow them on twitter or IG.

**Edited**
So, that tells me that Nick draws people in and keeps people talking. People may love him or hate him, but they sure like to talk about him. He is the most interesting contestant I've seen in a long time. As for my personal opinion, I wish Andi well, but I don't care for Andi's personality/behavior after watching her deal with Eric on the show, maybe he had a point calling her out for her fake behavior, she just seemed to go nuts after being called out. I also don't like the coldness (aka cruelty) toward Nick after playing with his feelings, where was the empathy for someone she really hurt? What I saw from Andi was a girl who was cold as ice. I don't understand that. IMO, Nick had every right to ask about why she made love to him if she wasn't in love with him and knew she was going to pick Josh. Before that comment by Nick, it seems that Andi wanted Nick to be perceived as a creeper - a hanger-onner, someone who just wouldn't let go. That is damaging to his reputation. Well, now we know WHY he wouldn't let go, she told him she loved him in the most intimate way possible, through her body and making love to him. So, I have no problem with him asking, it tells the TRUTH of what happened and now people know why he was so hurt. It restores his reputation a bit, and puts the blame of the leading on in the lap of Andi, where it belongs. I'm a fan of the TRUTH. I too would want to know why she would take it that far when she apparently "loved Josh the first time she laid eyes on him" - why play Nick for a fool? It was not necessary.
I hope he is the Bachelor, I find him smart and funny and articulate when not broken and devastated. Some of the funniest parts of the show were because of his quick wit. He is attractive and I think having a guy who has a heart and would really love who he chose, would be refreshing. Let's face it, The Biggest Loser has created more lasting couples than The Bachelor/ette. So, it would be nice to have a Bachelor who really wants to settle down and will take this seriously. Arie - um, watching his antics after his season, makes me think he would not take it seriously.
On the other hand, I think that Nick has taken enough heat from some really mean people - I'd like to see him go live his life without being judged every time he moves, so in that way, it would be nice if someone else were The Bachelor.
Disclaimer: This is all IMO. Nothing more but my humble opinion.

To be fair, pre Bachelorette, Nick only had about 300 followers on twitter. Josh had a lot more, but Josh has Dawgnation and a famous QB brother behind him. It is only logical that he would have a lot more twitter followers than Nick. Andi was the lead and this is her second season, of course as the Bachelorette she is going to have a lot more followers than any of the male contestants.

I enjoyed reading it, Karmagirl.
I agree with most of it, some I don't.
I have been fairly consistent this season--I didn't like MeandI from the start of the season and I don't like her now.
As far as twitter, IG or any of that social media stuff--really who cares? It's almost like 2 teams discussing who's dad is bigger than the other's.

No good deed goes unpunished.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, bye Felicia!
