Going into the season, how were you feeling about Juan Pablo as a choice for The Bachelor?

Any last thoughts thinking about the season ahead?
Harrison: I think it'll be a hard season to pick the women he's attracted to because it's an interesting mix and it's hard to put a finger on his type. I'm really excited to see how people take him and everything that goes on because there was this initial infatuation with him, but there's more to life than a cute accent and good abs and therein lies what we're about to see this season.

Mike Fleiss said similar "stuff" at the start of Desiree's season, in an interview for Entertainment Weekly. Maybe we should take it as clue that the editors and handlers worked overtime with all of their smokescreen? It worked last time. Reality Steve refused to budge from his "spoilers" and we had a ton of footage involving Big Bad Ben, Brian vs. Stephanie, Des blubbering over Bryden, Des telling Harrison that Zack is the best kisser and she's "at the finish line" with Brooks, Des blubbering over James and Des blubbering over Brooks. When she picked Chris after endless poetry sessions, 70% of the viewers went "huh?"

She is more "salty" than "sweet". Yeah, we do have those abc.com "extras" of Clare saying Nikki is "bitchy" with Danielle, Kelly and Renee. That's the primary issue she has with her. At least she told Nikki to her face the whole "you're one way with him and one way to the other ladies" schtick. What was hilarious about Nikki smacktalking Kat behind her back during the Korean group date was that the focus was on Kat being too "fun-loving".

I will say this much for Nikki, though. She is an equal opportunist: smacktalking Victoria, Sharleen, Clare, Kat and others equally with no preferential treatment. Aside from Clare, those mostly at war with Nikki were Allison, Cassandra, Elise ("ewwwwwww"), Danielle ("shouldn't be around Camilla"), Sharleen (barking "Are you kidding me?" when she got a group rose) and anybody who speaks her mind on "Women Tell All". I do have the feeling that a not-present Nikki will have burning ears that night.

Did Litta identify that PI shot yet? It may just be from New Zealand. I think one of Juan's has the same backdrop, but I can't remember where I saw it. Interesting (in the 2nd video) that she is still saying she needs answers in that clip... as if Juan is still withholding the truth about something. I am reminded of Harrison suggesting above that Juan isn't quite letting go with this Bachelor process.

A couple things of interest with the 1st video...

There are a lot of repeating lines this season, more than usual. "Pulling the wool over his eyes" is mentioned by Elise and Clare in different episodes regarding Nikki. Andi tells Sharleen that Clare might be "tick tock". Juan says "tick tock" with Nikki when reminding her of the stethoscope gag out of the limo. (To Andi, "tick tock" means "crazy". To Juan, it relates to the heart.) In addition to the dog photo shot, we have Nikki comparing Clare to one on Monday's show... while Victoria told Nikki back in episode #2 that she's not a dog, but a bitch. Clare dislikes Nikki behaving as one. Everything is in twos this season.

Nikki was the one to start all of the "one way with him, one way with the ladies" business when she was talking about Kat during the group date. She accused Kat for for being too easy going and fun-loving... and wanting to eat guacamole. So... Clare dishes the same lines back to her.

Clare keeps repeating this season that she doesn't care what others think of her. "I am going to Clare." Ditto Nikki. In a way they are kinda alike. Only I think Juan already knows Clare is "crazy" without others telling him, since she is what-you-see-is-what-you-get. Apparently he likes a little "crazy", since in Vietnam " The waves were wild… and we got a little wild too."

This is my whole take on Nikki.

She is very attractive with that "smoking" body. Juan says her limo is "on fire" on Day #1. Yet she may struggle a bit seeing the forest for the trees. She is hypercritical of those she feels are not taking this show SERIOUSLY. She is exactly the kind of gullible contestant Mike Fleiss craves on account of her tunnel vision. Unable to fully relax, it is possible that... like my beloved "Mister Sunshine" Ryan Park, she sports a guide book on "How To Ask Questions Before Starting A Relationship". Only Ryan was a lot of fun... "oh boy oh boy oh boy" was what he chirped often. He provided me with all of the humor I needed in Ashley Hebert's season. Nikki, on the other hand, seems to struggling with the whole "easy-going" part that Juan is seeking. Remember this is the same guy who pulled out a boom box and started dancing after he greeted the ladies.

Andi is probably as equally "serious" as Nikki, but at least she's laughing at Juan's jokes. Unfortunately, the prosecutor part of Andi's brain is operating a little too much this season and she is instigating Nikki quite a bit. All Andi... or Kelly... or anybody has to say is "yes, Clare is crazy" and Nikki is instantly dictating why-she-is-a-better-match-for-Juan-because-she-has-many-years-of-diaper-changing-and-professional-expertise-and-Clare-is-too-jealous-and-needy-to-play-stepmommy.

For me, i wont call JPab a `tool`, but i dont see him as highly as the Hottie Dimples Latino Roberto either. educated, accomplished, well-traveled and classy. He is so classy that even the Puppet Master with all his tricks - unbelieveble amount of $,etc- couldnt drag him into the mud in the name of `the first non-white Bachelor` of this silly show. (Oh, how i wish he had accepted this gig!!!.. Maybe God knows if he is, i would constantly drooling over my screen..and wasting another valuable 4 month of my life!!LOL..  ). OTOH I dont get the vibe of classy and educated from JPab, tbh.

as for Clare, she is not only an ordinary hairstylist. she OWNS the business (her bio). huge difference. i would rather call her `enterpreneur`, which i highly respect, then. and yes, she is a stunning cutesy for my eyes, more amazing given the fact that she is the oldest among the bunch.

I personally think JuClare are look-alike. an indicator of great match pairing, IMO. much or so like Jason-Molly and Chres. i maybe bias bc me and my DH of 18yrs are so look-alike  :giggle:. They seems on the same page of their life and have similar family background. I too not only can see the physical attraction between the two, but also strong emotional connection. They just seems `click`.

TPTB just need to smack our head with this `lusting` impression and contradict it with this `ideal future mommy`figure, the hot blonde pediatric nurse, the F2.  They really have to push hard for rating this time around with more wacky edits for the F1    : :jelly- crazy edit, Clare-gate, conflict with other girls, Nikki instead of her who get to meet Camilla. :shocked!: .etc

i have nothing bad to say about any of these contestants and JPab&his F1 (i suppose its Clare), knowing (more-or less) a bit of of how this Machine`s work. i just wish the final couple the best. Do i think they broke up by the ATRF? No. Do i think they will last for a lifetime? Also No. After all, we have had Ben-Courtney --the so-called `lusty` relationship--who can last about 1 year (mind you, they surpassed JEM who had only 3-4 mo)  . Welcome to the Fleissian World!!  :sourgrapes: 

Borrowing JBF`s opinion, mind you this silly show`s Golden Rule : TPTB dont give a single care about the lead and his/her F1`s image for viewers/fans.
IMO The final couple literally like a baby giraffe (chuckle2, borrowing Clare`s line   ) sent to the jungle full of wild predators out there post-show. The stronger they are, the more likely they will survive (Jason-Molly, Jash & Chres) and the weak one (pardon me for using this example..cough2 Ben-Coutney, JEM) will be....... history.

Good points. BUT the bolded is still very confusing to me in the light of that interview that Clare gave after Clare-gate. That interview did not come out like someone sounding neutral (to avoid spoiling) but had a tonne of red-flags which don't indicate that they have resolved all and are happy.

^^The one thought, nd, that I have regarding Clare's recent post Clare-gate interview is that she may be unhappy with the ambiguity that TPTB made the edit. She had to play nice with them in order to "clear her name" to some respect; but she can't spoil the season, so they had reins on what she was allowed to say. I could see this irritating her...thus her comments came out with an edge.

I'm not saying that's true...just speculating. I'm simply looking for a reasonable explanation that could explain her tone and still be F1. I admit that interview threw me for a loop, but I can still see the possibility remain that Clare could be F1. As far as I can tell, there is still "great debate" in the general public whether they did or didn't have sex. That fact alone could be contributing to the edge in her comments...and the frustration of not being fully able to explain her side.

Btw, did you notice on the picnic when Juan talked about her coming to his room at 4:00 in the morning, he was cracking as smile? It was almost like he knew the statement wasn't fully true (the time), but had to go along with it for the storyline. (You recall Clare denies the time in the interview.) I can't come up with another explanation for his nearly breaking into a smile except to know it wasn't true. It also didn't make sense for Clare not to take issue with the time statement during that conversation...unless it was producer induced.

I get what you are saying I do. But I didn't read frustration with being unable to clear her name effectively at this point in the season (because she can't reveal the outcome and oust a producer setup situation) but rather frustration and still not being clear (confusion) with respect to JPs stance and handling of that whole situation then.
I hope I don't mistype the next paragraph but when we saw the episode, Clare seemed content with whatever discussion they had and decided to move forward in the process. Currently she does not sound validated and understanding of where JaunP came from then. THAT is what is weird with her interview. Seemed like she did not get closure both on or after the show.
Perhaps I am hugely wrong  :Smiley: but thought I'd post the contraction in Clare-gate appears.

When I watched the last episode it seemed to me like he could have said squat and she would have still proceeded. Even CH noted that JaunP really didn't apologize. Seems like Clare wanted to stay in the game more than the principals that she is now trying to defend.

Having said all this I totally see where you guys are reading that she is f1 and perhaps she is. I just don't get the post-show read that they are in heaven.

In all honesty, I don't have high hopes for a happy ending, no matter who Juan Pablo chooses. And for the record, even though I think Clare is F1, I won't lose any sleep over it if I'm wrong. Now if Juan were to have chosen either Renee or Chelsie, then I think I'd be much more invested in the outcome.

Speaking of Chelsie, did you all get the impression that Chelsie was talking about Nikki being the negative one in the Grapevine preview on our media thread? She never used the person's name, but it was spliced in with Nikki's reaction. I remember from the preview that Chelsie was crying in her cover up from the Miami GD. Could she have gotten into it with Nikki? I vaguely remember from the preview that Chelsie says they are the reason that I'm crying. (I did not go back to verify this.) Or is it that Chelsie is upset from witnessing the blowup in the house? I guess we wait to see what comes about Monday night; however, it surprised me to hear Chelsie comment about the "negative girl." I don't recall Chelsie making those kind of comments before. She always seemed like the happy-go-lucky one.

Basically Nikki was really good at smacktalking anyone who wasn't in her core group of four that she could smacktalk the others with.

Did they actually have red flags or if you(as in the reader) were LOOKING for them, you can certainly find them.  Meaning, were they actual red flags or planted ones?  Last season, I mentioned here how Fleiss and company were so eager to "pull the wool" over RS's eyes to make a point.  Could he be doing the same thing here again with us the viewers.  Meaning, put in enough red flags to make us question that Clare could be or if she is, then won't last kind of vibe regarding F1, meanwhile, she is the F1 and all is great in their world.  I just remember being scoffed at last season stating that Fleiss don't care about RS, he just want's to produce a show.  But he did care, and did accomplish the task..could he be doing it again??

I'm slow to getting around to respond to this, but the answer is no we haven't identified the location of this PI. The only other person I have with this background is Juan Pablo. I don't recall seeing Clare wear this outfit and triangle necklace yet. It's not going to be in Miami either as Clare wears green to this upcoming RC. So would your guess be it's in St. Lucia...or could it be back at the mansion? It's been altered slightly with Clare. Flowers were added and the arrangement under the picture looks different.

So, should anything be made of the fact that Clare has changed her necklace? She has worn the gold bar with "CREER" (meaning believe...I think????) all season long. Did the necklace fail her? Is she not F1 and thus came back post season and decided not to wear the necklace? Or could this be a necklace Juan bought her? Would this be a necklace likely to be bought on the island of St.Lucia? In other words, does it fit that island's style?

Interesting, I just checked Clare's IG, and as best I can tell, she has no pictures post show wearing the gold bar necklace. Is this the smoking gun? Is this telling us Clare is NOT F1? Sooo many questions....

ETA: Oops!!!! I spoke too soon. She still wears the necklace as of a post last week...so never mind!

Note that in this PI she is wearing the triangle necklace, different outfit than the one she was wearing on ITM/during episode 4 and to me, she look got some tan in here. The same outfit and background is repeated again in this below vid around 3:27 mark where she explains her intro for her reconciliation with JP after Clare-gate.

Did Litta identify that PI shot yet? It may just be from New Zealand. I think one of Juan's has the same backdrop, but I can't remember where I saw it. Interesting (in the 2nd video) that she is still saying she needs answers in that clip... as if Juan is still withholding the truth about something. I am reminded of Harrison suggesting above that Juan isn't quite letting go with this Bachelor process.

I'm slow to getting around to respond to this, but the answer is no we haven't identified the location of this PI. The only other person I have with this background is Juan Pablo. I don't recall seeing Clare wear this outfit and triangle necklace yet. It's not going to be in Miami either as Clare wears green to this upcoming RC. So would your guess be it's in St. Lucia...or could it be back at the mansion? It's been altered slightly with Clare. Flowers were added and the arrangement under the picture looks different.

So, should anything be made of the fact that Clare has changed her necklace? She has worn the gold bar with "CREER" (meaning believe...I think????) all season long. Did the necklace fail her? Is she not F1 and thus came back post season and decided not to wear the necklace? Or could this be a necklace Juan bought her? Would this be a necklace likely to be bought on the island of St.Lucia? In other words, does it fit that island's style?

Interesting, I just checked Clare's IG, and as best I can tell, she has no pictures post show wearing the gold bar necklace. Is this the smoking gun? Is this telling us Clare is NOT F1? Sooo many questions....

This PI has been annoying me for a while now. The first time they used it was in epi.3 and they have been using it in every episode since then. How is it possible that no one has even noticed that we are yet to see her in those clothes?! Anyway...

I just noticed that she is not wearing her gold-bar necklace, but the one she is wearing is a Forever 21 necklace, according to Posessionista. She was wearing her standard necklace in the other post-filming PI's though, and is still wearing it in the pics I saw on her Instagram account.

Soooo... are we saying this necklace is like Rikki's picture on Emily's fridge during Brad's season? Or the Barcelona poem that Desiree wrote for Chris with the line "And hopeful to see if in your heart / I have found a home"?

None of us have a crystal ball, but Juan does seem pretty happy post-show. I would wager that he is with somebody and is content, despite what struggles the relationship has had. Am I absolutely certain? No.

He looks happy here. Then again, this was before his interview blunder and the naughty episode #5 prompted an avalanche of negative comments on twitter and elsewhere. My guess is that he'll look more tired by "Women Tell All" time.

Renee... a slight smirk followed by a "no" nod. Jimmy: "I'm doing good so far?" Juan gives a small "no" nod, but says "I wish I could say yes." (Meaning: he would have liked her to be in the final three but she probably wasn't.)

"The winner, I believe, will be Nikki." Juan instantly rolls his eyes (classic screencap there!) when Jimmy says "Nikki is a pediatric nurse". The audience starts laughing immediately and Juan is again nodding his head "no" (much as Desiree did for all of Jimmy's top three last time... these leads can't help those quick "no" nods). Juan then pats Jimmy on the shoulder as Jimmy almost busts out laughing.

When "caught" in his tweeting about Kansas City, he brings up Atlanta, Tampa and... Sacramento. (No pictures of Sacarmento girls in Jimmy's trio.) Juan brings up Sacramento three times this interview. When he brings up the city that third time, he backtracks and adds Chicago as another city. Jimmy eyes him "don't try to smokescreen this. We know who you're with." Huge grin on Juan's face.

Haha! Yes, I actually figured that out right after I posted. I went back to her IG and saw that I hadn't bothered to check her shirt pic from last week. I edited my post, but you must have quoted it in the meantime. So, agree, no necklace-gate...all is good...Clare is still F1, IMO.   

Btw, the Juan/Clare cap was posted a week or so ago, but as of yet, we still can't identify when/where it took place.

I have just a thought on the Jimmy Kimmel interview.  A lot have speculated that Nikki is the F1 due to his reaction to when her picture was shown.   I find it interesting that during the deliberation time for one of the rose ceremonies that Chris Harrison was giving JP a hard time about how he can read Juan Pablo face.  TPTB made sure to put that in the show to maybe keep deflecting that Nikki is the F1. I am new to this.  You guys are above my level in detecting. :Smiley:
