Ha ha! I don't think anything in this silly show is completely "unexpected". Since we hear nothing about it in the promos, I wonder if Nikki even mentions it to the others. The only two who actually stated on screen that she might be "negative" for Camilla were Elise and Danielle and both are gone.

You're right. I got the two switched by accident. Lauren is the piano player... and Juan doesn't want his daughter seeing him kiss piano players. Sharleen the opera singer gets the kissing, but it often is a trifle sloppy. Andi twice told Juan to his face that he's a terrible dancer, but both Sharleen and Nikki are honest saying their best dancing is when they are drunk, which makes you wonder how serious he is about his future wife having that trait.

I love doin’ surprises, so being El Bachelor lets me give a lot of surprises… so it is gonna be great to surprise Clare. She’s gonna freak out.

When I first saw Clare in the limo I remember her being very funny, clever, happy, easy going… so I planned this spectacular date tonight and I can’t wait to see her reaction… because (impish smile) it is gonna be a great night.

I’m lovin’ it because her reaction was great. Looking at her smiling is better than a million bucks.

I think Clare is very cute and she’s fun and she jokes around. I can see myself with Clare having a good life with Camilla.

Tonight Clare talked to me about her dad and things that I would like to know about her. I’m glad that she’s here and that she’s able to open up a little bit and I want her to feel like she is safe and she can open up more. / If you had a father who treated you like a princess, you want a man who treats you like a princess… though. Why would you not have that standard? We have high standards. Clare and I definitely have high standards on relationships, so… I want her to stay because I enjoy being with her. Just feels like it is right.

Love is very important to me. I want to have that person I can wake up every day with. So I am looking forward to see how this adventure will keep growing because I feel happy with Clare.

(Have to toss in Kelly’s very tasteless line here: “Clare’s the most dramatic person I’ve ever seen. Her piece was literally this big… and I KNOW you’ve swallowed BIGGER things than that.”)

As a dad, the hardest part of this process is that I am always missing Camilla. Last week, I got in big trouble with Clare. I made her upset. This is a learning process for me. In this case, I’m LOST here. I’m still figuring out my boundaries… ‘cause it not just me. It’s gonna be me and my daughter. Now, today, it is Clare’s second 1 on 1 and I’m looking forward to talking to her.

Do I ‘know’ Clare? Yeah, I ‘know’ her, but do I need to ‘know’ her more? Yeah, I need to ‘know’ more about her. Tonight I just want to make sure we reset. That’s all I want.

Clare just has something going on that is so attractive to me that I don’t even know what to say.

Dah---ham! Whoooh! I get hot talking about Clare.

Clare is just something else. I love to see her change. I love that she didn’t bolt ‘cause I see a future here and I want to know more about her life. At the end of the day I’m gonna end up this adventure with somebody. She could be the one.

She could be the one?? He is not sure at all. She is one of the possibility, not the one for him yet. He is still digging deep. Remember, he doesn't want to make a mistake, you know....

IMO- The story line here is that JP usually go for the infatuation and sexual physical attraction/passion (what he wants), I mean, have you seeing his baby mama? gorgeous!!!yet didn't work. However this time, this time he is ready for a serious commitment, he will go for more than just the physical attraction/outside(what he wants), he is going to make sure it is what he needs (comparability, the inside) as well.

See, it's Ok to go for the physical attraction only if all you want to do is play around without commitment, (may be that's all he is looking for, don't know....)but when it comes to a long lasting marriage, there has to be comparability and connection too, or it won't last.
In addition, I think MF has a message here; long lasting marriage is based on both the physical and comparability. All of those unsuccessful couples were simply based on the physical, the lead didn't know what they needed, hence couldn't recognized the right fit for them. I remember Alli's season, all she keep saying how good looking Roberto was and that she couldn't believe it! Comparability is the key to lasting relationship. So, we'll see!!!

You may be right that Clare is F1 going by all what JP said. But we also heard Des say many things about brooks...she even outdid herself by using the L word. I still think he said things about Nikki that is being hidden. The clare story is way too obvious and they just wouldnt hand it to us on a platter like that

just thought that i have to share, since i have spent 3 much-needed days (and counting??...gaaaah..) for catching up and finally wrap up an analysis of my silly investigation. (damn you Mr. Fleiss!! you had me crawling out my cave by putting a `bait` named Clare-gate of Episode 5...LOL... )

Let me warn you that this will be a lengthy post, so I make it in parts, so please bare with me  :Smiley: and apologize if something I post has been posted/discussed/analyzed before since I really cant catching up all the previous pages on this thread, and also bc my post will be kinda a `hit and run` since more likely i cant response back to you all. TY for letting me share!!  :Smiley: 

Let me start with saying that i suspect MF has just seen too much Frozen Movie. I wonder whether his mental state is on the same level as my 3 yo niece who had seen that Disney movie for the 58th times   (and counting!.. ).FWIW, its actually based on an original story titled the Ice Queen  (ring a ding??...) by Hans Christian Andersen.

JFYI, my method :Figuring out the big picture (Storyline) by the Season`s Preview and Episode`s Preview as well as `filler VOs` in the end of the episodes and then dive in into details (VOs and PIs) where I especially looking for VOs referring to REAL LIFE  (daily life after the show) and PIs, presumably taken after the fact  which needed to fill the main storyline. ..AND..comparing those with last season.

After my conclusion,---JP had done-deal with Clare after Episode 5 or 6 -  I seriously wonder, what that dude MF thinking : is this Juan Pablo`s show or Clare`s show?..LOL. Like, seriously!!  :shocked!: 

Ok. Let me drop the first bomb :

Last season`s storyline : poor-upbringing Des the Cinderella finally found her real Prince Charming, who will never ever break her heart

Juan will be dancing with Andi on episode 7. and was dancing with Chelsie and Kat

boy oh boy!!..they still hire the same editors don`t they??...(PS : dear MF, pls dont fire those predictable editors, we promise we wont sleuth and tell .  )

Little tidbit editing from past seasons that I can recall, which is interesting to me  :
I still scratching my head as to why peeps dislike Claire. Have we forgot the now-happily-ever-after Mrs. Ashley Rosenboum once was the jelly-insecure-unstable Ashley Hebert the F3 of Brad Womack 2.0?. that she also struggled with the First Date Curse?. Interestingly, both Ash and Claire have daddy-issues. The difference : Ash was daddy-less while Clare was Daddy`s Girl.

My Oh-not so important Opinion (you can skip this  )—sorry to drop it over here, just need some venting    :
I don’t dislike Claire. IMO its best to say that I don’t  find her sweet-friendly ala  Tenley but i don’t find her bitchy and villain ala Vienna/Courtney either.

In my personal opinion, personality-wise, she is an old-fashioned, homey girl, who once has been a Daddy`s little girl for so long.(she is the youngest of 6 girls).   In her words : she doesn’t go the club..and she watches Golden Girls. Come-on! What else could be Older than that?....LOL…  She is the MYOB kind of girl. and appearance-wise : Despite she is the oldest of the bunch (along with Renee), its amazing that she is still among the cutest one (the effect of Daddy`s little girl?)

Juan and her both coming from the same fam background : solid, long-happy-marriage parents.  And she also has Mexican blood in her. I think this fact will play some important parts on their realtionship`s dynamics.

Oh..and I don’t have any fav this season. So I am a happy camper everywhere on this board this time around. (sadly, my main issue is only time limitation)

Yes but he already said the same thing about Nikki in the previous episode and at that time JBF pointed out that he did not say "for me". The same goes for Clare IMO. JP has not used My, mine, for me etc. i.e. no prepositions yet.

I am not JBF, and I really do not put much stock into whatever they say in PI's or ITM's but he did say " I can see myself with Clare, having a good life with Camila.." (start at 1:11)

JC - that is more like it (couldn't view the vid at work but if Clare got that line then the edit is saying something here).
