If who was left wasn't a serious consideration, I don't think he would have involved her and they could have planned a different date, there's lots to do in Miami besides go to a kid's dance recital. I think he was testing the waters.
And regarding Jason's season, yes he ended up with Molly in the end but at this point, he was all Melissa in the Bachelor bubble so I don't think you can discount what happened in his season. He didn't pick Melissa as a joke to just dump her later, he picked her and then realised she was the wrong choice. He got lucky that Molly gave it a chance afterwards and the right couple ended up together.
Great post!

And per the Melissa/Molly situation...I was only giving another possible thought. Two way street.
Quite frankly, I think it's best that Juan doesn't end up with any of these girls and just finds a woman who speaks fluent spanish otherwise he's gonna have a tough time intellectually (with these women and in general). No stimulating conversation. Like at all.

Did we get a mid season preview during Des' season? I thought we had to wait until the WTA. That would be pretty dramatic if 2 or more of the F6 girls leave on their own!

I really loved Nikki, but the editors keep smacking me across the face like Moe Howard. NO! You viewers are not supposed to "like" Nikki! I really liked her on her 1 on 1 date, then... SMACK! Suddenly I saw stars.
Going by the previews and that abc.net preview everybody's discussing, Nikki's edit is taking a real nose dive. She was so sweet and sexy at the start of the show, but she is now not only fighting with Princess Clairol but three other ladies as well. I have the feeling our "Women Tell All" will have a LOT of "telling all". Of course we know what The Story is: Juan doesn't like people being something they're not. Nikki got a key voice-over from Juan in episode #1 saying "just be yourself". She asked him in their sitdown "what all do you want to know about me?" Apparently Juan doesn't know enough yet. She is this season's James.
Of course, SHE will be the one who gets to see Camilla first. I would not expect anything less from Fleiss & Co., eager to create a storyline of deception and drama.
In the abc.com video "extras", we get Clare talking about Nikki, labeling her "negative" but also not in the mood to smacktalk any further with Danielle about it. She is happy with her ocean swim with Juan and not "dealing" with Nikki any more than necessary. Well... at least not until Miami when she fights fire with fire.
Nikki is all happy that Juan and Clare had a fight... thinks Clare is jealous. Although she sees a "connection", she thinks Clare won't accept Juan's "number one love" Camilla as part of his package. Nikki is an expert at everything, y'know. Andi is the other one in that conversation and does a good job maintaining the attorney poker face, letting Nikki do all of the talking.
Alas... she is as "in the dark" as Ben Flajnik was in Ashley's season. Ben never had any group dates with Jordan Paul past episode #4, so he wasn't seeing what the other guys were seeing. He may not have been "in love" with Ash, but he may have genuinely thought he was The One regardless and got very VERY angry at her in Fiji (more so than we saw on screen from what we've been told). Of course, once he became the lead, his own F1 was all about "winning".
Maybe Nikki does genuinely "love" Juan. Hard call at this point. Her body language is baffling to read. Certainly being the first to meet Camilla will drill it in her head that she is high up his pecking order. Also she hasn't seen any behind-the-bushes "besos" with the competition. Bet the "4 AM ocean romp" was another eye opener for her.
Oh... one more thing from episode #1 that could be foreshadowing: Nikki stated correctly that Sharleen shouldn't have gotten the first impression rose on account of not wanting it. She has been "onto" Sharleen since the very beginning. Andi, in contrast, stated Sharleen was sweet in episode #1. No comments by Clare until Korea and all she said is that she wasn't seeing much of a connection, yet she did show some worry at the pool party.

Turns out that from her group date she is not number 1. That pride of place (and the extra time) goes to Andi instead. And to top it all off another girl (Nikki) is the girl that actually gets to meet JPs family in Miami. Nope - she is not going to be a happy camper at all.

ND, and I am really waiting to see how Claire is going to react when others gets more time than her, like she did in Vietnam and didn't care what they though. Can't wait for next week episode!
Now, I like Nikki. She is funny to me, but a little rigid. I think they can work bcs she seam to have put some thoughts to Juan's being a father and she is confident. I am still waiting to see what will happen with Chelsea next week, they have not moved forward in their relationship. We shall see!!

You know... we always wind up comparing this season with the past two Single Parent Seasons. So... high time to make a trip down memory lane. Had to go through some written recaps since so many of Jason's youtube clips have been deleted.
Ah yes... Jason's season. The big question: Was he picking somebody for Little Ty or Little Jason (er... the champagne bottle)? (Juan Pablo has forever changed the way I look at champagne bottles.)
There really wasn't much for Melissa's boyfriend, Big Tye, to be jealous of. The key body language interest for me re-watching her scenes with Jason was that, apart from the casual kissing, he liked stroking her hair a lot. Otherwise, she was here mostly-for-the-kid. Melissa was the first to see Little Ty (if sleeping) and the other ladies all knew about it. When both she and Molly took turns meeting an awake Ty in New Zealand, guess which one the twerp gravitated towards?
On the very same episode (#5 but right before hometowns) that Melissa first spent time with Jason and (sort of) Little Ty, Molly was on a group date with "mommy" Stephanie (like Clare this season with "mommy" Renee in Miami) and they all partook in a Seattle radio talk show with Jason that focused on one subject... sex. Molly was actually pretty demure, while "good mommy" Steph shocked viewers at how carnal her appetite really was. Yet, Molly's storyline was already firmly in place. In the previous episode (#4), she came back to the ladies' quarters wearing Jason's clothes and Melissa herself commented that she "smelled like Jason". On both the fantasy date and last chance date, the editors did an awful lot of winking at us, suggesting that Molly was "giving all of myself to Jason".
Not that it was all about Jason satisfying his "id" with Molly. We could see she would be great with Little Ty too on her hometown date when her mother had Jason drawing pictures of her like a grade school kid. There was also much golf talk, since both Jason and Molly were fans of that sport... much as Chris and Des both dug the poetry and coffee shops. (I still wonder if that finale was pre-planned all along... and Jason was in on the deception and went with it or was brainwashed by the handlers to pick Melissa over Molly. I know... I know. Everybody keeps telling me that wasn't the case. I'll just keep my tongue in my cheek.)
Emily season... did she want a step-daddy or a lover? Chris Harrison was concerned that she was making too many youtube videos of cats.
In her "Men Tell All", you could tell that Chris B., dumped after hometowns, still felt bitter towards her. He really did get emotionally invested in that bubble. In contrast, Sean Lowe discussed his rejection later as if it wasn't any big deal and congratulated Emily as if they were both diplomats at the UN. Maybe because he was already informed that he would be the next lead? Or maybe there wasn't as much between them as the editors implied?
Twice that season, Sean insisted he would make a better stepfather for Ricki than anybody else on this show. He was that certain and arrogant. His hometown showcased the giant doll house and his "living-with-the-parents" gag on her involved a lot of stuffed toys. All season long, they kept hitting that Anvil Chorus that Sean is Grade A Daddy Material.
Yes, he did get into the hot-tub with her during the fantasy date. Yet you know any excuse to get his shirt off was important to the editors. When he said he fell for Emily and saw her as his wife, his delivery was quite stentorian... and, for me, sometimes hard to consider as "sincere".
Arie's edit... good grief! Aside from helping her win a toy at Dollywood, Emily seemed to forget she had a daughter when she was with him. Only during the fantasy date, between platypus make out sessions did it dawn on her to ask if he would be a good step daddy. Otherwise it was all varooooooom! Everybody got to be an audience... Ryan Bowers... Arie's brothers...
Then F1 Jef, who arrived on day #1 with a skateboard as if he's 12 years old and just starting to notice "girls", was finally praised in Prague for being good step-daddy material simply because he's a kid himself. Reality Steve had a field day over those comments on his blog, since he was still unclear most of the season which of the final three was "the one". Yet Jef was the one who finally got to hang out with the kid in person, while Ryan simply observed from a distance on his date.
This season...
Nikki is accused by Elise for being too "negative" for kids, but her intro video shows the babies smiling ear to ear with her. Practically every sitdown, Juan gushes that she's a nurse who is great with children even if he can't pronounce "pediatrician".
Chelsie was accused by nasty Elise (good thing she was dumped already) for being a "little girl". Regardless, it is a joy watching her and Juan play.
Renee is a mommy like Jason's Steph, but she likes being kissed TOO on occasion.
Andi's conversations with Juan are mostly about his bad dancing (repeated twice), then it is all lip-action. Sorry Mom.
Sharleen wants to discuss SOMETHING with Juan but their mouths are constantly being occupied.
Then there's Princess Clairol (Clairol = shampoo she probably uses twice a day)... Daddy's Little Girl who, like Camilla, likes the taste of choc-O-late.

I wonder if Nikki meeting Camilla was a plan, or something that happened unexpectedly?
