*No Spoilers* The Bachelor 18 Edit Discussions

That's how I read it, eversotrue. Clare also gets "he's husband material" in one promo posted some pages back... and his "she's wife material" covers her on another. However, I feel I need to leave my answers open to debate here. Maybe I am jumping to conclusions too quickly.

Last season, the Chris/Des Love Story involved an awful lot of "I wrote you something", prompting many TV viewers to head to the potty or fridge. Meanwhile, Des would hop on Brooks' lap with constant giggling. Fireworks exploded in Madeira.

The Golden Rule: Mike Fleiss doesn't give a $#%@ whether or not TV viewers care for the "final one". He only wants them to care for the F2, F3 or F4 since they are most likely "still on the market" and recycleab-b-b-b-ble for future seasons... or at least a reboot of Bachelor Pad.

JBF, oh okay. I just wasn't completely sure. And yeah, open debate DEFINTELY gets opinions rolling. What do you think about the my other post in regards to what happens on Monday with the "chase"/ and the boat situation last episode?

It sure looks like he is bending over her in the row boat here. Check out the slow motion scenes.

Then again, the editors cleverly make it appear like she is stalking him like a burglar too... which adds more fuel to the Clare-chasing-Juan-instead-of-the-other-way-around theory.



My whole "vibe"... *chuckle chuckle*... is that SOMEBODY tells him to "cool it" with Clare since there is a show to continue. Maybe he eventually loses interest in her as he makes his move on the other ladies on their dates? Or... maybe... as Ashley labeled JP her season... Clare is that "magnet" he can't avoid. We shall see...

JBF, I have very little to add (yes I am shy).... I mostly ask questions   Expressing my opinions typically gets me  :knock: so I try my best to not  .

I'm confused by what you said....someone would start reading poetry, people would leave to take care of their basic needs, Des would giggle and jump on Brooks and then fireworks....is this an attempt to get me to talk about last season?!? Nice try.....

One thing I agree with is that Mike Fleiss doesn't give a $#%@. Brooks already asked me and I said no to his going on BP.

My point you understood instantly. The editors want to push somebody who is not F1 on us. They also make him/her more likeable than the F1.

It took me a looooong time to understand Fleiss' Golden Rule. In Jillian's season, I was scratching my head as to what she saw in Ed. (Hey! That rhymes. Head - Ed.) Anyhoo... Reid was more interesting to watch with her. Maybe because she herself was more sober with Reid?

In Ben's season, they pushed Nicki as the one he-should-have-picked... and had a few of us wondering if Reality Steve goofed with his F1 Courtney choice. He didn't... as it turned out.

It's always interesting for me to read your opinions JBF, because we often see stuff so differently. I'll have to really disagree about these two examples especially. Those leads seemed dead set on their chosen F1's very early on no matter how much the edit monkeys tried to convince us otherwise.

I'm talking about the way the contestants were shown on TV. Not the "reality" of the situation.

Heck, after The Volcano and The Skinnydip, most of us stopped questioning.

Well yeah, they make it seem like she's a stalker!! That's what they've been doing thus far..They fail to imply that he's the one that takes her for a splash the first time around and he accepts the second time (Atleast in order of the preview). Those editors...

And I still don't agree. For example, Jillian's reaction to Ed leaving sealed that deal even with the whole "E.D." thing on the FD. They totally made up for it with the LCD. And Reid was edited to be too neurotic and not right for her.

And while Courtney may have been the ultimate villain, she was in it to win it from the beginning and edited as such. I don't agree with your assessment of how Nicki was portrayed.

Actually I don't disagree with you, umngirl as much as you think. Well... I am still not 100% certain of whole Ben/Courtney's situation entirely, not that it matters any more. That was an oddball season. I am as equally certain of Jillian/Ed in hindsight as you are. I've seen interviews with her stating that Ed was the one she had the most in common with, etc. Yet I was watching her season in a more naive state than today... is that the right word? Heck, I was watching Ben's season before all that we have learned with Emily, Sean, Des and now Juan's season too.

Just need to add here: Sometimes my wording is confusing here. I probably should have stated "at the time" (Spring 2009), I was scratching my head regarding Jillian/Ed.

I think you can tell who the lead is interested in right out of the limo. Remember Brad with Emily? He said "WOW" repeatedly and could barely get his words out. Didn't JP bite his fist after meeting Nikki and said no more limos or something along those lines? I didn't watch Des' season, but did something of importance happen at the M&G after she met Chris? Just curious.

Is it just me or are they showing Juan's top girls (Andi, Nikki, Clare, Sharleen) a lot this season...? As in, more then they usually show the final 1? As in they've showed way to much of these girls thus far, for them to be F1?

Btw: by top, I mean obvious favorites.
