*No Spoilers* The Bachelor 18 Edit Discussions

He told Nikki on her date: "Im glad I picked you for this date". I doubt he actually PICKED her but he may have hinted/suggested that he wanted to go on a date with her and BOOM! It happened.

Don't try to read too-too much into these, but I do enjoy lining up certain promos together to see how each season's storyline is developing. Also check what tomfoolery the editors are up to. Hark! The Letter and Sean's sullen look!

One pattern I noticed is that the F1s are not shown in the best light in these, relationship-wise. Last season, F1 Chris (who had zero "trouble" with Des) is simply wrapped up in the James drama, with only a fleeting shot with her during the poetry scene. Catherine is dubbed "manipulative" by AshLee and Sean's FRC is an unhappy one thanks to The Letter. Jef is actually presented favorably in the beginning, but then gets into talk-behind-his-back "business" with Chris B. & Ryan B.

At first I thought the beach would be Chelsie but I'm thinking Beach is Clare simply because of JP laying the blanket on the ground and it seems like they are sitting on the ground for their talk. and the other screencap that's dark- I think he's talking to either Andi or Sharleen in this one.

PS: Nevermind. Nobody commented on it yet... LOL! Yup, I am in my own little world today as everybody goes about their business. After all, the Disneyland/Disney World connection is probably just silly anyway.

Maybe some Eagle Ears can do some voice-work here.

It is obvious that Juan mangles his English at times. Clare says "your daughter" late in this video below, BUT... Juan says "OUR" daughter earlier... at least it sounds like he does. Went through it a few times.

I dunno... Freudian slip? Did he really mean to say MY daughter? Or is OUR daughter a Spanglish version of I-have-a-daughter? Or does Juan really view Camilla as Clare's daughter too?

By the way, this video clip is put out by abc.com... and I found it rather strange that they put this particular one on youtube.

^^JBF, I just listened to this with headphones. He says, "I have a daughter." He says it so fast and softly that "I have a" sounds like "our." He runs his sounds together...or call it mumbling if you prefer.

On another note, I just passed this scene in my re-watching of last night's episode...looking for any time travel caps. I was surprised at the number of times that Juan refers to his time with Clare as sneaky...in the raft, going up the stairs to his pool. I didn't count, but he probably said it close to a half dozen times. Never once did he mention it on screen with Nikki.

His blog comments would have gone right past me if I hadn't re-watch the episode. Was his blog a secret shout out to Clare?  

He wants to be sneaky on account of "our" daughter... LOL! He is paranoid she will see daddy act all "intense".

The video itself... or, rather, the selection of that specific one for youtube by "TPTB" is... a little... bizarre. BUT... I won't make a big hoopty doo about it. How many other abc.com videos from this show were uploaded on youtube?

Speaking of "our"/"I have a" daughter (and I think he says BOTH, "I have" after what might be an edit splice), episode #5 was quite interesting in that both Renee and Nikki's dates had a lot of kids talk. Unable to re-watch it at this time, but I'm curious about the pronoun usage and specific sentences in these dates. Renee made a happy fuss about him buying something for "my" son. Did she say other guys didn't do that in the past or something?

Ben didn't care one bit about how it would affect the other girls feelings, come across to viewers or that it was disrespectfully to all the other girls.  He appeared to have no interest or affection for any of his other girls.  He probably would have done that every episode with Courtney if they let him.  Also, nude making out takes it to a whole other level if he picked someone else.

JP was sorry, guilty realized it would look bad to the other girls, and to people watching on tv.  he was trying to save face immediately, even though it came across badly.  He obviously likes to make out with the girls he's attracted to, Clare isn't the only one he likely could get "carried away with" right now.  Also, regret during the show and on twitter now (he said he made a mistake) seem like a  point against Clare as F1, to me.  

I agree relaxing. That is how I view the "apology" in the same way.

Someone asked about storylines. The person that has a huge obstacle to overcome is actually Andi. In fact from the edit, she is the only one with one. Now it could be because of her future role as bachelorette or it could be the lead of this season helping her across the waters.

You won't hear any "positive" discussions this early. Even Jef Holm may have still had his skateboard at this stage of Emily's season.

Oooof! The episode had the opposite effect on me. I am now 100% certain he's with Clare. We now have their "obstacle"/storyline. Granted, it may not be the kind you want for your idealized "typical" F1. It is all about what he permits "our"/"I have a" daughter to see regarding their... um... "intensity". He could care less if the other ladies see it! On people.com, he is only concerned about much more "time" that Clare was getting than the others, not how the time is spent. (BTW, I too thought Nikki would be F1 when I was watching the first two episodes. Only after re-watching Clare's date did I begin steering in her direction.)

During Ben's season, I kept wondering if he would make a switcheroo with his F3 Nicki. Much of my reasoning involved a lot of the "little stuff" that all of us get caught up with season after season. Y'know, the "can't see the forest for the trees" situation. For example, his frequent discussion of her in present/future tense in his people.com blogs, while Courtney was often past tense. (Not surprising, we learned they were split during much of the show's airing only to be reunited at ATFR.) His twitter call outs to Texas and enthusiasm over her hometown episode... Ben was tweeting up a storm when it aired. Yet the Big Picture that kept getting overlooked was this: he never discussed The Skinnydip with any of the ladies. They all learned about it watching the show. Whether or not the editors inserted something from an "alleged sex tape" to spice it up (the tabloids suggested Courtney had one), we still SAW Ben and Courtney having the time of their lives in the nighttime surf and no amount of "it was just a refreshing skinnydip, no big deal" would make Benny Boy any more lovable to the remaining ladies.

Although Mike Fleiss acts like EVERY lead goes "all the way" with multiple contestants, the primary three that many have "proof" with are Alex (Bachelor #1), Bob the Slob and Jesse Palmer... and all suggestions of the hanky-panky were edited out apart from the occasional wink-wink. The editors did quite a bit to insinuate that Jason and Molly did the deed, probably because they knew he was not staying with Melissa very long... and there were NO signs on screen that he and Melissa did anything apart from the usual "foreplay". (Tye didn't have much to be jealous about.) They may show a Bachelorette blubbering over her Frank/Bentley/Brooks, but she'll still keep her clothes on with him on screen.

Yes, Juan and Clare looked like they were still wearing their skimpies in the ocean. (The one guest on AfterBuzz was even hinting the clothes might have been photoshopped.) Yes, we see Clare in the previews questioning if it even was "inappropriate". Yet Juan was repeating Clare was "on fire" three times in Spanish and she was having the Big O describing the experience. So... yeah... the only way I can now see Nikki be F1 is if he tells her everything and we see her reaction: "I'll forgive you". Otherwise, that gal is going to get a nasty beating for accepting Juan at FRC.

^^^I can't see Clare handling the relationship that Juan has with his ex and I cannot see him picking Clare knowing this. Juan's package is Camilla and her mom.
