Re: Bachelor 18 - Tweet/Facebook Updates - Discussion
I agree with the bolded...I just don't agree with TPTB beating him down every chance they get. That's one thing I see as a positive about Nikki's personality...she's level headed and I do believe she can handle him. He's met his match when it comes to honesty and keeping it real! In other words, I think if he gave it a chance, he's found that Nikki may be just what he needs/needed.dw_a_mom wrote:pbmax wrote:dw_a_mom wrote:eliza3 wrote:I simply think that if he had said something to the affect that while it means something different in his country he understands the difference and apologizes if he offended anyone that would have diffused the situation….but he didn't. His response when chastised is to blame it on the culture difference instead of trying to learn the lessons from this country where he lives.
He is incredibly bad at diffusing difficult situations or at validating anyone's feelings but his own, it seems.
It's OK to stumble into it when you don't know a language really well, but his explanations too often make everything worse. All he has to learn is to say, "I am sorry, that is not what I thought I was saying and not what I meant!" <---- memorize this, Juan Pablo. Repeat. Then stop talking.
He does know how but it seems when people don't want to hear what he's saying then it's pointless. For example the situation with Andi about the word default, after Andi insisted he said it, he said okay I said it, he apogized also for sayinghis it's okay's which seem to bug her so bad. He also did the same with Clare, he took responsibility for the rump in the ocean...he did not put it all on Clare but was saying it was a mistake. It seem like people take out only the parts they want to hear. When he touch the ladies face and say listen to me is not him ordering tjem but trying to get attention so he can explain himsef and make them feel better, some men are like that and it's not about demanding.
It is a lot more complicated than that. I realize I am only seeing edited TV, but there are patterns in view that I KNOW from personal experience are NOT indications of a man who knows how to be in a sincere and serious relationship in anything resembling a healthy way. IF he really is like he's been shown to be on TV, and how he comes across in his tweets, he simply has a lot to learn about interpersonal relationships and American culture.

I see he is very capable especially when he didn't go on this show to misled women and say he fell in love with two women...carry the company line. As he say kiss 27 women. He's just as capable as all others before him married or not.

Didn't Desiree start following this lady toward the end of her season?

Clare is following her now. It was some time ago, so no worries if you don't recall.

She's simply a PR lady who sends stuff to lots of people from the franchise. She sends stuff to Sean and Catherine, Desiree, Kacie, and Renee to name a few.

Oh, I was wondering if Clare was going to be doing something that needed a PR person.

She's not that kind of PR lady, she's more of a brand PR lady than a personal one. She sends goodies to this people and then they tweet/IG it.

PB Thanks! ITA with everything. With Claire, he acknowledged that it was a mistake, like Sharlean said, Juan had "buyers remorse". People have made up their mind about Juan and refuse to see his good side. I can't wait for Monday, I hope it's Nikki, she seams very solid to me. We shall see!!

ITA: She seem to ask questions when she has them and doesn't let the passion dominate the relationship. She is strong minded like Juan, I think they are very comparable, but based on all the editing it looks like Claire. The song theme, the yatch, the helicopter and .... seam to indicate it's Claire but I don't know. We shall see.

ITA with the bold. What bothers me most is that he doesn't seem interested in learning about American culture. I bare say if people started tweeting mean, rude things about Venezuelan culture he would be screaming and not accepting the response of "relax" "different culture"
What is even more confusing to me is why, if tptb picked JuanP to be their "minority" Bachelor, did they pick that group of 27 women for him to choose from? Who exactly did they have in mind when choosing those women for the Bachelor? I would have to say that it certainly was not JuanP, because of the lack of diverisity among the 27 women chosen. How many of them actually spoke or even understood Spanish?
I would have thought - that instead of trying to fit JuanP into a preconceived role, which seems to be exactly the same as all the Bachelors who went before him - that they would have crafted an entirely different show, if the powers to be were actually looking to put to rest the "lack of any minority leads" debate that has gone on for quite some time. Instead, it appears that they are punishing JuanP for not sticking to the age old theme of the show. So, if there is blame to be placed, then I would say that choosing JuanP as the lead was not a well thought out decision on their part, and they are now trying to deflect all the blame onto JuanP. And I will add that this is just my opinion.

ITA, and a wonderful opinion it is. I think they're doing it so the viewers won't want another minority leader.
