Re: Brooks Discussion Group
His behavior post show might be putting him out of her mind real quick. I think it's pretty bad that he used the break up scene pictures as a "marketing lesson" at a conference. No wonder Chris unfollowed him.Mustang19 wrote:To clarify my post, IMO, Des did not fall in love with Chris until after the show was over and she had time to spend with him while it began airing. I think she liked Chris a lot when she accepted his proposal, but IMO she wasn't over Brooks yet. She had basically a week to decide what to do with the rest of her life, and Chris was there waiting. When I said she didn't fall in love until Brooks was out of the picture, I mean that the show was over and she realized there was no chance she would be continuing a relationship with him because she chose to accept a proposal. Chris is a nice guy, stable guy, and if she was attracted to him then she probably thought better than to let him get away since Brooks didn't work out. I think she was still uncomfortable talking with Brooks at the AFR, so I think it's going to take a long time for her to completely get him out of her mind. And I'll end by saying I don't know any of them, and this is just my opinion.Aunties_Love wrote:Forgive me, but the show wasn't over when Brooks was out of the picture, it was still going. Yes, I am one that never saw the connection between Brooks and Des. I did see her paying a lot of attention to Chris in group situations, and as such did see more of a connection between Des and Chris than with Brooks. Brooks was an infatuation, and obviously one that he didn't share either. He never really was interested in Des. IMO, he basically led Des on and I think that is one of the reasons why Harrison and producers didn't take kindly to Brooks.Mustang19 wrote:Brooks didn't say that until the AFR. He didn't know the outcome at that point. He never said he "suspected" Chris was F1, he just said he wasn't entirely surprised. Des also said that it wasn't until after Brooks left that she was able to evaluate the other relationships (meaning the other relationships were in not first in her mind) which, to me, means Brooks was F1 until he left. I know others disagree, and that's fine. I believe Chris loved her all along, but Des didn't really fall in love with Chris until the show was over and Brooks was out of the picture.2observe wrote:Regarding the bolded, didn't Brooks suspect that Chris was Des' F1??? He said that he noticed the way Des always looked at Chris, especially during RCs. I think that it's why Brooks was so surprise that Des was declaring all that love for him. It was always going to be Chris as F1.Rolly wrote:I'm not sure why the first date being dressed as a brides and groom as being a sign that he wasn't F1. Des wanted someone that could just roll with it and have fun and that's exactly what Brooks did. He didn't seem to be freaked out about it at all in fact seemed to really enjoy the entire date..."it keeps getting better and better and better...hold on to your seat belts ...this is gonna be an awesome ride."
And because they do the Hollywood sign like anther couple that also indicates he is not F1? I don't get it?
Brooks seeing Des kiss other guys...he said he didn't think Des' relationship with other guys affected him. He wanted the rose on that group date and he got it. He said getting that rose reinforced the relationship that they had and he was glad he got the rose. This was after he saw Des kiss James.
I feel like I'm and I know Des is now with Chris. Truth be told I really like Chris and I'm hoping they will have a wonderful life together. I think he wanted Des in spite of the feelings he knew she had for Brooks. Don't you think Chris also suspected Brooks was Des' F1? ...I still believe if there had been more time and not the pressure of a proposal we might have a different ending....JMO. It may be true that Chris is a better fit for Des and she got what she wanted, a proposal and someone that loves her just as much, probably more than she loves him.

Another curious thing... in the new book, the MTP was on April 29th. Des writes a poem to him before proposal on 5/4 making the proposal sometime after. I wonder what was going on between the 29th and the 5th? Were they trying to convince Brooks to return? Just giving her time? Was Chris allowed to see her? This means Brooks and Drew were stuck there too. Wouldn't be so bad, but I don't think they are allowed to leave their rooms.

Wow Grace8136, it must have been great to have been at that Inbound13 conference. What was Brooks saying at this point?grace8136 wrote:

Since I haven't seen the actual video, I don't know if it shows Des in a positive or negative light. Either way, I'd be upset at Brooks for using me in his business presentations.

I agree! It appears to me that he and the people he works with have been making a mockery of the bachelorette with videos for some time now. I like to mock the show too, but I prefer to keep my mocking on an anonymous message board, versus some kind of marketing seminar. I like Brooks less and less and I didn't care for him much anyway.beader wrote:Because Brooks is now using film of Des in his marketing presentations, I find it difficult to believe that Brooks ever cared anything about Des. You just don't do something like this. Maybe Des and/or CBS have given Brooks their permission to use the scenes. I guess it could be a two-way promo for Brooks and for The Bachelor franchise. I'd doubt Des would agree to it (I could be wrong of course), but I guess when you sign that contract, you give up most of your rights for some time.

I totally agree with all of the above. His behavior post show might be putting him out of her mind real quick. I think it's pretty bad that he used the break up scene pictures as a "marketing lesson" at a conference. No wonder Chris unfollowed him.

Exactly Auntie_Love!!!Aunties_Love wrote:That makes sense to me as well 2observe. I thought that the reason why Brooks was surprised at her saying the ILY is because he always knew what he felt for her and could see her and Chris's connection. Therefore, why would he stay when he seriously thought he wouldn't be F1.2observe wrote:Regarding the bolded, didn't Brooks suspect that Chris was Des' F1??? Re: Brooks Discussion Group
That was part of the show.. she made a list for Brooks and wrote a poem for Chris. There is only one other poem from her in the book, written after Brooks left. So JMHO... but it doesn't feel the same. They are not profiting off Brooks. It would be the same if Jef created a presentation showing Arie upset and leaving the show. You just don't use people's pain to profit. Additionally, he has made so many snide remarks at this point, which never felt like jokes to me. I don't understand why he can't let it go and just wish them well. He did a great job at the ATFR, but now it seems his true colors are coming out and it's not pretty.iamreal2u wrote:I can see where Brooks utilizing the show as a marketing tool, AND Des and Chris selling their poetry(written while she was in love with Brooks - her words) can be offensive to some and hurtful to both sides(Des and Brooks).

Agree! What Brooks is doing seems like it would compare to if Chris and Des had used pictures of the "distraught Brooks" in their book.grace8136 wrote:That was part of the show.. she made a list for Brooks and wrote a poem for Chris. Re: Brooks Discussion Group
Des and Chris both agreed to make the poetry public....I have a hard time believing that Brooks asked Des if it was ok to use her as a marketing tool. From my perspective the too things are totally different.iamreal2u wrote:I can see where Brooks utilizing the show as a marketing tool, AND Des and Chris selling their poetry(written while she was in love with Brooks - her words) can be offensive to some and hurtful to both sides(Des and Brooks).
