I can imagine that he was very relieved to have the show over. From the very beginning he was spoiled as the F1. Many people assumed that Des and Brooks were together engaged. That must have been very uncomfortable to not be able to be honest with people and to know how he really left the show... maybe wondering how people were going to react. And he had to wait that 3 months also not knowing how the show ended after he left.

The show is over now and it is what it is. Even though I thought so much of Brooks' ups and downs throughout the show seemed to be more with the process, in the end he didn't feel prepared to make a commitment and decided it was best to leave. Hopefully Des and Chris will have a happy life without regrets.

And Brooks in my opinion is leaving with a lot more than a broken finger. Look at his following, look at his fan thread, he is stopped every where he goes with people wanting his picture, his company can use him for publicity and he will get a trip or two out of the deal. I can also say without a doubt he will have no trouble whatsoever getting a date. Last but not least I think he has come away looking the best of anyone. He has an honest gentle nature, a great sense of humor, was loved by Des and all the guys. How many guys would have the guts to do what he did at this stage of the game? I'm gonna miss him.

great post Rolly... the bolded paragraph above I totally agree with. that was a bad compound fracture he had and it doesn't surprise me that he has had to have reconstruction surgery to it. it still looks pretty gnarly to me.

Auntie Lyn, totally agree with your post. It was like I was really expecting a different ending, I thought Brooks was coming back. Then all of a sudden times run out and no Brooks. You have got to be kidding...total shock and disappointment. Then many people are so happy, especially Chris fans (which I can certainly understand) and I'm saying hold on a second, this isn't how this was supposed to end. What happened??? And of course TPTB are thrilled that they fooled everybody and their brother. I didn't think it was funny and I wanted a do over!!!
I will come around, it's just gonna take a few days. Kind of glad I'm not the only one...misery loves company maybe! bestbud!

Auntie Lyn I also like your saying at the bottom of your page "...skid in sideways with chocolate in one hand and wine in the other....WOO HOO what a ride!" giggling

Adele117, can you post the Brooks Instagram pics above also in the thread for pics, media. It's nice to have all the pictures in one thread (I like them here too!!!). Those are terrific pictures of him.

I was wondering about his finger. Poor guy. I was always irritated at all the "OMG Brooks it's just a broken finger, suck it up!" tweets/posts when it first aired. These people must have completely missed the fact that this broken finger resulted in alot of blood which clearly indicates the dang bone cut right through his finger and was exposed on the outside. That is NOT just a normal broken finger for crying out loud. I can't still see in pics where the right index finger is visible that it is still a work in progress to getting back to normal, if it even can.

Monica, that was a severe break to that finger, I doubt that it will ever be back to normal where the break was and all. I would be happy to do therapy on it for him if he wants... just sayin [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I feel for all the Brooks' fans. The one line of their first date that should have convinced me that these two wouldn't end up together was this one: Des: "If I'm gonna get my heart broken, then that's what's going to happen and that just means that I wasn't meant to be with that person." Brooks: "And that's what's best for you and best for them." Darn editors! I should have paid more attention to these things!

Ha! I actually thought of that foreshadowing the day of the finale but pushed it to the back of mind because I wanted to believe he was still F1.

Like many others here, I was a huge Bres fan and am still working to get over the loss. Sometimes, I think that I was more of a Brooks fan than anything else and wanted him to "win" regardless of whether he and Des would have been the right fit in the real world post-show.

I had not watched the show since Brad 2.0 but had been considering watching this season only because I tend to enjoy watching all of the guys hanging out plus more eye candy. I went to RS site and saw Brooks pic as the F1 and I really liked him - I actually found his picture cute even though I had never been a fan of the scruffy look. I thought he was all right on the Meet and Greet night but was really sold on the next episode when he had his one-on-one date. I loved that date - so romantic and such chemistry. I was so excited to see the rest of the season and watch the love stor unfold before my eyes. I did not find this site til mid-season and was reassured that Brooks was F1 as well. I started to worry when clues started to come in that may be we were all being fleissed but I figured that everyone was still so confident in their sources and RS was so so cocky, I figured he had some concrete information that definitely pointed to Brooks being F1. I thought maybe he was wrong that they were engaged but they were still together and happy. The night of the finale, I was still hanging on by a thread although more doubts kept creeping in (including the foreshadowing mentioned above).

I really disliked the finale as it was so chopped up and the live audience feed did it no favors. I was so frustrated and the fact was in any other season Chris would have been a more than acceptable F1. He is sweet and handsome but he is not Brooks so that is why I cannot bring myself to visit the Chris/Des site right now to gush over the happy couple although I certainly wish them well. I think I could have accepted it more had she chosen just to date Chris rather than accept a proposal too. I also realize now that Brooks may not have won the game (although had he stayed, I still believe she would have picked him) but he was still a winner by staying true to himself and doing the right thing for everyone. I still wish things had ended differently but everyone seems happy now so... I guess I will get there too.

Rolly, just wanted you to know that we both feel the same about the whole thing especially the home town date. I keep asking what the hell happened. He doesn't take love lightly and when he is going to say I Love You, he will really mean it. Des even made that comment in one of her PI's. She said when Brooks falls in love he falls in love.

I wonder who is always with him that takes those pictures? I admire him for not taking selfie pictures and posting those.

Yay! Love the pics he put up, but BOO! on him using some filter on them!

No wonder he tweeted about not tweeting. Ha. Could someone ask him who took the pics? I wonder if it was Jonathan Craft? He said they should go on a hike again.
