i have the same thinking, grace. re : the bolded. ITA. I wish she could be more sensitive and more diplomatic in answering the endless Brooks Qsgrace8136 wrote:I agree.. but I wish she would stop saying she doesn't know if she would have ended up with Brooks and instead say.. that she hopes she would have seen the light by the end. It has to be hard for Chris to hear that. She is a little insensitive to what she has put him through at times.soccermom333 wrote:LOVED this interview! Especially the part where Chris talks about their chemistry and "love language." Des was very honest and I love how they are best friends and she seems to know now that they were meant to be together. They both seem so confident that they will stay together forever. Hopeful for these two.Alanna wrote:Thanks for posting! I like that she's honest that she doesn't know who would have been F1 if Brooks had stayed. Ultimately everything worked out as it should. Personally, I don't see the harm in her saying she doesn't know what would've happened. I don't know that she would've seen the light had Brooks stayed, she may have very well continued with the chase and picked him in the end, sending Chris home brokenhearted. Not that it really matters what would've/could've happened, she said on finale night that her heart will find what it needs, and it did. Things could have easily gone the other way and I think she considers herself very, very lucky!

this is the premise i have in mind, pre-during-posthow and perhaps forever : any girl end up with Chris is a super lucky lady!! .
i believe fate and God`s hands have played their role in the ending as well

As evidenced by the instantaneous "watch the feet" sign of her move to Seattle, as a couple, they moved past whatever Brooks did or didn't mean to her three months ago ... the public just hasn't caught up yet. She's humoring the questioners, as she must. I doubt Chris could care less about Brooks at this point. He got the girl ... and Brooks was the one who surrendered her to him, after all. Once Des pivoted, all was well.

Thought l would be nosey and look at the other threads to see what their moods r like lately. Went to Brooks and l guess Jimmy Kimmel has a 2 min vid called Consolidation Engagement Song (I will alsys love you but sub love u w/settle for second or something to that) that aired sometime, its sickening how some ppl think mocking another is funny . l didnt really think it was as funny (as they did) l found it mocking Des decision , Just makes me sick what can l say.

I am totally and completely team Cres (like even a week plus after the show I am still obsessed and re-watching the whole season). Chris was the reason I maintained such a huge interest in the show. I'm so happy for them. But I do need to throw this concern out there. In this interview/in several other interviews (ATFR, Good Morning America etc) is anyone else concerned that Des keeps talking over Chris? I know she's more used to the media coverage and interviews but it just keeps making me cringe. He maintains steady eye contact/positive body language and because he is SUCH a gentleman he doesn't mind her answering question for him...BUT I just keep feeling like Des isn't really letting him talk. Like it's all about her and "her" season. Not them and "their" season. And that bothers me because in the proposal he literally says "And I don't want to make decisions for me anymore, but i want to make decisions with you for us." (swoon) So, is anyone else getting this vibe too?mercieme wrote:Entertainment Tonight Interview, they look at each other a lot when responding, very cutesy

My thoughts are that Des is the "star" of the show and the prime spokesperson for the Bachelorette. The purpose of the post-season media tour is not for Des & Chris' benefit (especially since they are not seeking the spotlight post season). Rather the media tour is for the benefit of ABC to promote its Bach/Bachelorette franchise.
I have to believe that ABC put Des, their star, through extensive media training pre-season for her media interviews and she was most likely instructed to take the lead in these post-season interviews. A PR/communication team most likely gave them speaking points and a script of prepared responses so that they'd provide consistent message that ensures the Bachelorette is positively promoted and to help them with how to respond to what's called "rude questions" (i.e. all the questions about Brooks!).
Sure this is real life for Des & Chris but a business for ABC and Des is on their payroll. I thought Des did awesome and she has definitely gotten better over the past few months. I don't know if it was because Chris was by her side but she is far more relaxed. Des - more so than other leads - is making tons of eye contact with Chris in responding. When Chris speaks up, he seems far more confident and relaxed than others who have looked stiff/uncomfortable.

I think their post interviews have been very telling in that it shows how much they love eachother. Loved how she grabbed his hand on the "Kelly and Michael" Show. Loved how she schooched over on couch to be close to him on "After the Final Rose". Love seeing how they keep looking at eachother during interviews. I ended up watching previous Bach/Bachlette proposals on you-tube. WOW, is all I can say. By far, Des/Chris proposal was top three and showed true love and seemed so real as compared to others. The girl is over the moon since show ended. You can tell how much she is in love with him with certain post show comments. Love them and love this board so I can follow this amazing couple:)
