WOW! Nate has the emotional intelligence of a 2 year old. Not sure how she can have much of a relationship with him.

Ha! Well at least he thinks they'll actually get married soon. Everything else I take with a grain of salt, since the people who probably know their love best is themselves. I guarantee sources "close" to the couple won't be divulging details of their personal life to the media or reporting their gossip to RS. I hope they continue to stick to themselves and just enjoy life in Seattle, and give this a good go.

I will take this with a grain of salt. It is Lifestyle after all a rag mag. It's just made up sources imo.

Pia, I agree.  Take it with a grain of salt.  I would pay more attention to the things he says on his twitter page.  Recently he answered a "fan" that they would be going to Seattle soon to visit Des and Chris, and that she was happy.  

Remember these gossip mags twist and turn words around, and "piece" together if you will comments to make their story.  Example, princess Kate is on the last cover "baby number two!"  Their sources close to the couple are not really close but 7 or 8 degrees of separation.  Maybe a contestant from three seasons ago!  Ha!!  

They will continue to dig in Chris and Des's past personal lives!  This is probably the worst they can do is go after the brother!  Not sure if Nate even talked to them, but if he did, he probably should restrain himself from saying anything, or have a standard answer he gives each time.

I don't think this was discussed on the board, or I could have missed it, but not sure how close Des is to her family.  I did not see much of her conversations with Sean, but with Chris, she did mention that she only sees them once a year.  Not sure this is the right thread for this, but if anyone can answer to this, it would be interesting.  I am sure Des will hear about this from her PR person, who I noticed is based in Seattle. Des started following her before the show finished and she follows Chris and Des.  Anyway, jmo, but I bet there will be a conversation about it.

Just wanted to add.... I know Chris and Des seem genuine and I would hope they stay focused on themselves, which I believe they are, and not worry too much about a gossip mag!

US Weekly has a side-bar cover story about "Why Chris is the 'One'". We'll get the tabloid preview today. I don't think, though, that Nate is stating anything that the rest of us don't know if we're honest. Brooks was most likely Des' F1 until Antigua, but I think Des said it best when she said, "I was so blinded[sided] by my feelings towards Brooks that I couldn't see that the one thing I always needed was right in front of me."

Perhaps the negative press is good for these two. Jolly was torn to shreds and they made it through to marriage and a baby. It's up to Des and Chris from here on out.

These rag mags are out to make money and doesn't care whose lives they destroy in the process. I do hope also that Des and Chris will not pay attention to this nonsense and to not let it get in the way of their relationship. They seem to be level headed people so I believe that they're doing just that.

Isn't "Life and Style" one of the mags who did a cover story leaving Chris completely out of F2? Laughing. Now it's payback time, it seems.

No wonder this girl has lots of insecurity and other issues. Yikes! Chris will definitely be the loving, stable man she needs in her life!

I don’t know why people have such a hard time understanding that.  Prior to the finale, many on here were hoping that would be what happened.  Once Brooks was out of the way, she’d realize that the best person for her was there all along and offering his undying love and support. :eyesigh:   As said many times – just like in Sense & Sensibility!

Although the proposal was sudden, and Des didn't look all hot and bothered with Chris, like she did with Brooks, the more realistic love is friendship growing into love. Only Des knows what she feels.
I highly doubt that Des is desperate. I'm sure that she knew that her dating would have improved tremendously after the bette, so she didn't need to pick anyone. She could be running around Hollywood and have men chase her now that she's been on TV.

There are people you date, and there are people you marry. Many hot boyfriends end up in the recycling bin. A good man or a woman is hard to find.

No doubt that she was distracted by Brooks. He was her first date on the show and she thought they clicked. She, probably like most women, closed herself off to the others while concentrating on Brooks. That's human (most women) nature. She actually started off with Chris as friends, and liked him a lot, and probably guarded herself not to fall (so she wasn't confused, or in pain  at the end) for him because she set her eyes on Brooks, eventho Brooks was not right for her.

Once Brooks was out of the picture, she examined who she had, and IF there was something there. She knew that Drew was not it, but Chris was very close to what she wanted. She let herself fall for him in the last 2 weeks. PERIOD.

Bottom line: Des is the most compatible with Chris Astrologically, anyway. Chris Birthday is Dec 12th, Des Birthday is April 8th. Sag & Aries are an excellent match. I wouldn't be surprised that if she met Brooks and Chris at a party without pressure,  she would pick Chris. Compatibility-wise, no question it would be Chris.

Thankfully, I think Des realizes this and keeps firm boundaries in that relationship.
