The part that really would be terrible if Chris or Drew were F1 was when she said when she was going on other dates, that she wanted to go on dates with Brooks, and how she didn't want to share her heart. That would be a tough one to explain less than a week before the FRC.
I agree. I think she was emotional and maybe wanting to be a little dramatic on just how much Brooks was the only one. It didn't need to be left in, we got the picture with her I love you's to Brooks. It was really cruel to leave it in. Between Brooks confessions and that statement from her, I don't feel like there should be any proposals on Monday night. Maybe at the ATFR, but not that next week on the island.
I rewatched it too, with Closed caption. It was a no win situation Brooks dumping Des. Basically Des was guilty of doing the same thing to Chris and Drew as Brooks was to her. Love took on a new meaning=cruelty.
She closed herself off throughout the season and was saving her heart for Brooks. I'm sure that stung Chris and Drew. They were knocking themselves out for nothing. And you know Drew he said a few times to Des his relationship is based on TRUST and HONESTY. He was being deceived.
As Des did to Drew and Chris, Brooks said some indelible, hurtful things to Des. IMO, it's not something that a woman forgets, Ever. I think she was in so much pain that she took Brooks "the bandaid" for her pain back. I cannot see them lasting.
Chris and Drew will be fine. They have women chasing them already. However, I wonder if their trust has not been shaken?
People have short term memories. Brooks will propose and they will live happily after...except for the hidden scars. I wish them luck.

Can I be Team Chortle? All I kept thinking in that break up scene was that I could grate cheese on Des' stomach. Girl shouldn't get to have abs like that and a hotty at the end of the road, right? Kidding. I like all the final three and the dramaz has got me hooked again. Hoping the best for everyone, and glad to see this place still around. Haven't been here since the Great Tinfoil Wars of 2012. Nice "seeing" everyone again!

My questions would be though -
Do we really know Des , Brooks and the others from watching a two hour -11 week- highly edited and scripted dating show ?
By what TPTB chose to give us and how scripted it is I'd say No.
How do we really know what the future holds in their relationship? No one can tell what tomorrow holds let alone next month or a year from now.
And can we really judge what's in their hearts, their true character, and what kind of person they are based solely on how they were cast, portrayed, and edited on reality TV?
I personally just don't think so .

Tresch,
I agree with you.
Goldie,
I agree....but then we wouldn't need to have forums and analyze every word.
As to the dumping being scripted. If that part was scripted then I tell you Des and Brooks deserve an Emmy. Move over Meryl Streep...

However, I do think that we get a GLIMPSE into their character.
CH even said that now they get more RAW footage as compared to earlier seasons where they would stop and tell them to re-do something. He even explained this whole dumpster thing, and how they followed Brooks to the family, etc.

Second, I personally (if in love with someone else) would not be exchanging kisses ,with tongue swapping, with the other guys or climbing on top of them, or wrapping my legs around them- ymmv. We have seen other leads be a bit more circumspect with their non- F1. Last, but not least, no tears from me for Des having her heart broken after two dates and a home visit. Give me a breakup after a year of dating and I may feel badly. The only relationships that last are when you can match two people who really, really have been looking to marry. Jason needed a baby- mama and Trista and Ashley were at that point in their life when given 25 viable options, they could narrow it to one. If it had not been Ryan and J.P., itis very likely they would have settled on someone else. Emotions are running so high. If you view them all as actors and one well- paid actress (car, wardrobe, jewelry, trips, and cash), the outcome is easier to swallow. I have always been amazed at how the cast members resume their new, improved lives and those on the boards continue to feud.
Welcome remockered! Old poster, but I've rarely been around the last two seasons because I find the contestants and the nod toward Victorian-era romance a snoozefest--missing Jillian and the hot tub time machine days! Just wanted to say that I agree with the bolded completely. The more things change on the boards, the more they stay the same...
ETA: Holy moly! Chachi and kdubs both in the house. Miss you ladies and all of Team Tinfoil. Hope you are well!

Welcome remockered! Great first post. I like what you said about viewing these peeps as actors - I totally agree. They know what they are getting themselves into and do come out with new and improved lives for the most part (exception - Kasey of the Vienna boyfriend and jail fame).
Dr. Hottie! Good to see you !!!

Welcome, remockered... and really good points in bold. I'm one of those fools that gets carried away by the manufactured love story... so it's good to be reminded of the facts... facts which would cause any reasonable person to watch with skepticism. Cheers!remockered wrote:First time poster. What I keep in mind is that Des knows exactly what the handlers do- she has already been on this program.
