If you watched objectively, you would have seen that Brooks was not all that much into Des. Even CH said so. Most of it was in her head. She was running so fast, she didn't realize that Brooks was crawling behind her. Pun intended ;)
I'll give you my theory on Brooks, but his diehard fans will hate it.
Brooks was sure he wasn't in love with Des. He was hoping she was further along with Drew and Chris so he didn't have to face her love assertiveness (for a lack of better term) in the FS.
Now he finds out that she was going to choose him. He doesn't need any more time with her. For what? All he has to do is continue this charade, and Des will be ecstatic with a morsel of love. There isn't enough time to fall in love with ANYONE, Des, Chris, Drew, Brooks. He could just crash the party at the end.....WHY, you ask?
Because as soon as he got into the limo his wheels were turning-HE HAS IT IN THE BAG. All the media, publicity, his life will never be the same. I'll bet James' conversation came in real handy now.
All he has to do is play the game with Des for a few months, and his career, love life etc will go up exponentially. As his fans wrote on this board in stone HE IS A DEEP THNKER". For once, I'll agree with this statement.
Ariela -- you may be on to something, but I have an adjustment. I'm not sure that he got into the limo and thought "Bingo! I can be a star!!" Maybe he did, we'll most likely never know! But I DO think that he got into the limo knowing full well that his image was harshly tarnished -- that America would view him as a jerk and then some -- and figured that it was EASIER to go back, apologize, fake his undying love, propose, and then hope that eventually she would lose interest in the real world. After all, that is what typically happens. I have stated before that I think he is not used to having to deal alone with any issues in his life -- that someone typically is there to bail him out. Faking a happy ending was the easiest move for him -- and he aided MF in making all of the viewing sappy girls deliriously delighted.
Just my very humble, yet realistic opinion.
LOL.
We are realistic (real world after the show), and we don't have our fangirly heads up Brooks' butt.
So he fell back in love in 2 days with Des, right?
What happens in the real world with these real people is the true realism, not anything we say or claim to know here.
It's what each person chooses to believe after watching this show and processing all of the information. It's not like some are right and others are wrong. I don't know why this seems to be so hard for some to understand. Everyone here should be able to speak their truth. They should be able to say what they think without fear of retribution or personal attacks. The whole point of a discussion is to have an exchange of different opinions. Not for everyone to fall in lockstep thinking the party line.
It's funny because I have been saying that the one thing I took from that emotional scene Monday night, is that for Des it was always going to be Brooks or no one. If I had any doubt, watching that scene settled it once and for all. However, I have been able to listen to my fellow Drew fans speculating and holding to their hope that Des sees the light and finds her way to him. I have listened to the Chris fans talking about why they think she can still find a way to pick him. I don't see it, but I did not feel the need to demean or disrespect their beliefs. I have told them that they should stick to what they want or hope or believe.
After Monday night, I believed that Des would either be with Brooks in some way or alone. Those were my two possibilities. So now we have the confirmation that she is with Brooks and is happy. Why should I feel shocked or freak out? This was one of my two scenarios. Now it's quite another thing if I talk about what I think of them being together after all that has happened. It's another thing to say what I think of Brooks. It will be up to them to try to make this work in real life. I don't need the fairytale ending. I don't live vicariously through these people. Des made her decision very early on and it's her life. She has the right to choose her F1. She did that. So I accept the outcome. But what I think of it is a whole other thing altogether.

Hi atem-
I want to put you out of your misery on this .
I reached out to My source and others reached out to THEIRS-
DIFFERENT sources .
No matter how it's said or how similar it sounds it's still has the same meaning
Brooks and Des together - still.
Des and Brooks together and happy.
As of today they are together still.
Brief and to the point-
I hope this helps you!
I totally believe that she picks Brooks at the FRC. Sources and storyline back that up. It's the current status of their relationship that I continue to question. Something just seems off about the show's publicity angle as well as (lack of) social media evidence.

Fleiss has to salvage his season. Des has painted herself into a corner with her words that it is Brooks all along and she hasn't let herself even consider anyone else. There is no way she can choose Drew, no way she can choose Chris without it looking like a total BS set up.
The handlers convince Brooks that he could at least do Des the kindness of salvaging her dignity by going along with this for a few months. We get another Deanna/Jesse promo tour and by the time the next Bach rolls around, we get the inevitable break up stories followed quickly by a "we will always be friends" press release.
It has happened plenty of times in the past (De/Jesse, Nashville couple, etc.) and will continue to happen until this show gets cancelled.
The believers get their fairy tale ending, the non-believers get something to gossip about, and Fleiss is still laughing all the way to the bank as the internet explodes.
And Des and Brooks each get the promised minor crying part on a soap but get killed off after a week on the show.
Has Jake been on B&B lately? That was so fitting for him.

Very few have made a success of this mess. But there will be high drama on the boards in the coming weeks with two camps - the "well wasn't that a load of dung" camp and the "Cinderella camp". And I am not being mean, I never once said koolaid.
I'm pretty sure I'll be in the dung camp. However, that doesn't mean I haven't had fun rolling around in it.
Honestly, even though I really don't care what happens, I'm sure I will feel some emotion next week. I'll probably be yelling at Des on my screen when she takes back the guy who dumped her and had her doing the pretty cry. I am starting to believe that for many of these "contestants," this show is just one big audition. Not judging them for that - hey, they provide me with Monday night entertainment almost year-round. It's a win-win deal. I get entertained, they get to audition for other stuff like DWTS (another win-win-win - I get to see them again in the ballroom), and bit parts in soap operas, cover of magazines, not to mention all their paid appearances with other opportunities to ramp up their 15 minutes of fame. Gosh, I love this franchise!

I think you may have him confused with 1F.
Very easy mix up, guilty by association of Utah I guess....1F has set the precedence, maybe Brooks will re-write it!!!!!
