It might not make sense that brooks is final 1 but it would make even less sense if Chris or Drew were. The only guy she wants is brooks. Period.

I feel sorry for Des if the only guy she wants is Brooks. she really doesn't even know him that well. I could even call it infatuation or a crush. She'll get over her crush soon and fall in love with someone who really loves her.

What would you say if she wanted Chris or Drew?

If she is not falling in love with Chris or Drew at all then she needs to move on. If she feels like she could fall in love with one of them with Brooks out of the picture she should try to pursue it. These are 2 great guys and they really feel like they could marry her. I mean in real life if a guy liked Chris or Drew liked her I think she would date them and might eventually fall in love with one of them.

I guess it's a only because it's Brooks she wants that it can't be love, but only infatuation or a crush? Maybe you'd feel differently if the "break up" hadn't occurred?

She has had plenty of time to fall as in love with either Chris or Drew as she has Brooks. She fell in love with Brooks over the course of the same time period as she has known Chris and Drew. Her interest probably started when he stepped out of the limo first. We have no idea how much time they talked at the M&G, but somehow, he was the guy who got the first date. That first date according to Des was the best date ever. She knew then, or so she said, that she wanted to meet his family at HTDs. First of all, Brooks is a great guy, too, in my opinion along with Chris and Drew. And per the qualities she is looking for, he's the one that measures up to all of those qualities. If we're talking real life, in real life I imagine Brooks would not have been so much in his own head because he would have been seeing her regularly, she wouldn't have been dating multiple other guys at the same time, etc. He said there are things he loves about her, that at HTD he wanted to explore their relationship further.

She also seemed to have genuine interest out of the limo for Chris and Drew. I think things started off pretty much on an even playing field to begin this journey. I know she said in Antigua that she was not giving her full heart and that's understandable to me. I'd be a total wreck at the end if feelings were equally divided amongs 3-4 guys. She isn't the first bachelorette to know who her F1 is before FDs/LCDs.

These sources don't ever seem to have any details.  That's what makes me mad that people are getting their hopes all wrapped up in Brooks/Desiree being together.

I received confirmation this morning from a very reliable source that Brooks is the F1 and the couple is happy.
Quite sure others will be hearing same and reporting such.

Actually, it makes no difference to me who any of them pick or how long they do or don't stay together. Seriously. No snark there.
Like anyone else here, I wish people happiness and good health, blessings and strength to get through the tough times.
My own personal life is not effected by the show and I try never to involve myself to that point where it could there are too many real issues for all of us.

I don't know if you are speaking directly to me or not.
If you are:
I spend the same amount of time going through the scs and putting puzzle pieces together and snarking regardless.
This is nothing new. It's not time spent trying to disprove or prove, it's time spent in entertaining myself putting a puzzle together. Some do crossword puzzles. I do this.
I feel redundant and boring saying the same consistent bullhockey over and over, but those who insanely put up with me season after season will roll their eyes and smile agreeing this is how I am.

And I personally starting posting here because of you!  I have been lurking now and again ever since the site came up but never really felt like jumping in. I enjoy your insights and that made me feel like sharing my own!

I don't think Chris wants to hurt his own reputation....and i would think hinting that Brooks returns ready to propose would bring ratings even higher.

I guess that depends.  Knowing what I know, I have no desire to watch now.  Thinking she might move on and perhaps end her season dating one of the other two or being strong and leaving alone - I was interested and would have watched.  To me, this is just another rehash of every failed connection season - let's make pretend...

Will be checking the reruns in my TV Guide on Monday  

I would think if Brooks does return and end up wtih Des that Chris H wouldnt' be so definite in his wording....he could make himself sound more ambiguous and that would bring in more ratings across the board. I don't think it has to do with ratings that he said those things...a more logical explanation is that he said those things cuz they are true or cuz Des and Brooks are not an item.

Theories?  I still don't get what happened from Brooks HTD with him saying he didn't want her to leave to the non-FD with him waying he's leaving!  

If you watched objectively, you would have seen that Brooks was not all that much into Des. Even CH said so. Most of it was in her head. She was running so fast, she didn't realize that Brooks was crawling behind her. Pun intended ;)

I'll give you my theory on Brooks, but his diehard fans will hate it.

Brooks was sure he wasn't in love with Des. He was hoping she was further along with Drew and Chris so he didn't have to face her love assertiveness (for  a lack of better term) in the FS.
Now he finds out that she was going to choose him. He doesn't need any more time with her. For what? All he has to do is continue this charade, and Des will be ecstatic with a morsel of love. There isn't enough time to fall in love with ANYONE, Des, Chris, Drew, Brooks. He could just crash the party at the end.....WHY,  you ask?

Because as soon as he got into the limo his wheels were turning-HE HAS IT IN THE BAG. All the media, publicity, his life will never be the same. I'll bet James' conversation came in real handy now.

All he has to do is play the game with Des for a few months, and his career, love life etc will go up exponentially. As his fans wrote on this board in stone HE IS A DEEP THNKER". For once, I'll agree with this statement.

I was not a Brooks 'supporter' and in light of what we just saw, even less so.... and of course you are entitled to your opinion, but I just can't agree with your perspective.  I think it's fair to call Brooks wishy washy or spineless... but personally I don't think he showed signs of being untruthful or cynical ... misdirected, yes, self-promoting, no.

There are a few interviews that he alludes to the return and that Brooks isn't finished. So it is out there just not in his blog. And what makes a good mystery exciting? Suspense. It creates suspense by thinking that Brooks and Des won't work and then Brooks shows up on our TV screen again.

Actually when he said last year that Emily and Jef's date was the most romantic ever (even though I didn't think so)...guess what.....that was a foreshadowing of the fact that Emily picked Jef and they got engaged. so what Chris H says does matter....gives clues as to the the final result.

Yes and that's her prerogative. Some people enjoy the process of sleuthing and analyzing the SC's, edit and other clues.  It's called thinking for yourself. I see absolutely nothing wrong with it and don't see why anyone else should have a problem.  We all watch this show in our own way. It would really be nice if everyone could respect that each of us takes our own path.

You are twisting my words. Because you know perfectly well that I did not say anything about NOT respecting Des and her choice. You haven't been reading my posts or you would know that I am all about wishing Des and Brooks nothing but the best. I respect the path Des chose. Absolutely. However, as I was trying to say, I am entitled to have my own opinion and also watch this show and go through my own process. I believe in questioning and discussing and analyzing and not taking everything at face value.

What I did get from Monday night's episode is that it was Brooks or no one for Des. That was made crystal clear. So I was pretty sure that she would not pick either Chris or Drew and said so a few times in my recent posts. She has a right to live her life the way she wants. There is no question about that.

Now that I have made myself clear on that, I would hope that my beliefs and point of view would be respected.

I agree he hints Brooks "might" come back....so in that case that would raise the ratings....but the part when he talks about how Brooks was never in love with Des....it's so final....you would think if Des were engaged to Brooks he wouldn't sound so harsh about it or so definitive and he wouldn't say "or so she thought" about Des being in love with Brooks.
