Interesting - thinking about past patterns we have seen in this show --
Des asks Chris what he wants out of this.
Des wants to discuss the future with Chris on her FD.
Des wants to know what Chris' family thought of her.

Maybe there's hope !

I was as skeptical as many others about a happy ending for Des and Brooks after Monday night. CH comments have not been flattering about Brooks as a potential F1 at this point.

So I did a little digging outside the boards with " friends".


And it was confirmed that "Des and Brooks ARE in fact together and as of today happy "still". Didn't hear if they are engaged , so I don't know if they are or not.

So the spoilers, wet paint, and RS ARE right -
(as much as it pains me to say that about RS). Biggrin:

I just get the feeling she is with no one. Why is it that last season there were tons of clues (post FRC filming) that Jef and Emily were together. There is nothing this time...unless Fleiss is really trying hard to hide it. also did any of these people who got from their sources that Brooks was F1..did they know about Brooks leaving situation? I feel like no one really confirmed this happened...Reality Steve sure didn't know about it...it just
makes you not trust these sources totally anymore.

I understand. I was skeptical of RS because he missed some things this season already. But I am not skeptical anymore because I know WHO and WHERE my information came from yesterday.

Like I said they did not confirm that they are engaged,just that they ARE together still and happy.

I don't think at this point ALL these varied sources are wrong .
We've had no confirmation or source that says she picked Drew, Chris, or she is with no one .
Varied sources ALL saying that she's with Brooks.

As far as them being engaged my " feeling"  is that they ARE.

Fans do not invest 10 weeks on this show NOT to have an emotionally romantic payoff at the end and TPTB will go to GREAT lengths to make that happen - even if the couple doesn't last.

  I'm on board, and appreciate your follow up! No one has ever spoiled that Chris was F1, so I believe he was always in the F2 position when filming concluded. There was a mention that Drew was F1, which could have been before Brooks returned since we don't know precisely when that was, and how it all went down.

I feel they are engaged as well.

I do not have a pony in this race and I have no emotional investment in Des choosing either Brooks, Chris, or Drew.  I've thought all along that Des narrowed down her men and had a great group of guys at the end. I basically liked all of the guys as individuals.  Still do.

I went unspoiled for weeks so as to filter things clearly through my own eyes without any spoiler influence clouding my vision.  I came to the conclusion fully on my own about 4 weeks into the season that she was going to pick Brooks.  I could just see that she had a stronger connection & chemistry with Brooks than any of the other men.  She got that glassy eyed, in love look on her face when she was with Brooks. With the others she smiled; with Brooks she lit up. At that point, I decided to come back here to this board to join in the festivities.

For the most part, it's been fun to read the comments, but I can sense the mood here changing. As this week's finale (and the aftermath that is sure to ensue) barrels down on us, I hope we don't turn cannibalistic towards one another. Everyone should be free to express their thoughts and feelings about this show, without anyone else feeling attacked, questioned, or the need to convince others to "see the light". If somebody says something that you don't agree with, just shake your head and roll your eyes and move on. Who cares if we disagree? We don't need to be proselytizing for this stupid show, trying to convert viewers to the one and only Truth in order to save their souls.  If somebody here is dead wrong about who the F1 is, but they are having fun blathering on, is that so horrible?

People come to this board for all different reasons.  Some come on a fact finding mission.  Some want to be right about the F1 so as not to be blindsided on finale night. Some come to ogle over the meat or have their hearts touch by a fig newton. Some simply come for the fun of camaraderie or snarking. No one way to view this show is superior than the others. In the words of Rodney King: Can't we all just get along?

Now that I got that off of my chest, I will say that I do believe she will choose Brooks in the end. This isn't based on spoilers (although I am not discrediting the spoilers or the spoiler-sharers), it is based on what I've personally witnessed from this highly edited show. I'm not saying that she should or shouldn't pick Brooks, either, because, really, what the heck do I know?  

But I do think that if she did pick Brooks, there should never have been a proposal given or accepted. Go back and re-watch the scene of Brooks talking to his mom and sister and look and listen carefully. Then imagine Momma Forester watching the FDs episode and seeing what occurred during the break-up. Now try to imagine Momma Forester's reaction to Brooks getting down on one knee 5 days later and asking Des to marry him. Do you feel that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach?  Yeah, me too.

Good post except I disagree with one thing.  Mama Forester knows and trust her son and has told him they will stand behind  him with whatever decision he made.  If she watched the show Monday nite she saw the raw emotion from him breaking up with Des.  You do not get that just from breaking up with her.  I think she saw her son was after all truly in love with this woman.  As much as they liked Des and said all good things about her, I do not think they have a problem with him being engaged to her because they know he was true to his feelings.  IMO

Mia, I agree with your post, and love that calm reasoning you have come to... but I have to agree with nannymargie regarding momma Forester.  

imo, they would not have left mom telling Brooks in the home town date that she and the family trust his judgment and any person that he would bring into the family they would love because he did.  and then on the Idaho talk, she and his sister more or less give him this same advice, that they trust his judgment and he needed to follow his own heart and whatever decision he comes to they stand behind him.  they know Brooks better than anyone, and I got the impression they "know" he is in love with her, but he can't get out of his head to see the forest for the trees.  I would imagine that no matter how difficult it was to watch him and Des on monday, they still trust his processing and finding his own truth.

I don't ever remember people with sources having any details.  They just tell them who is the F1.  You either believe them or you don't   With this many with the same verdict I choose to believe them because you know MF will hide everything he can.  In this case we have less previews and SC than ever before because they want you to believe Brooks leaves and does not come back.

Okay but at some point they prob want to show us some clips of that to tease us.

This is true. However the bigger questions would be, had Brooks not supposedly walked away, do we know this same conversation would NOT have been had with him?
personally... I think it would have and i believe he would tell her he gladly move to CA to be with her. JMO

1)The spoilers may be correct-she took him back because she's weak, and has no self respect. She's repeating her old behaviors. MF loves to show desperate women. Ouch.

2)they look alike and make a nice couple.

My problem with Brooks is that in the break up he said such indelible, hurtful things to her that I cannot see how in the future her insecurities will not surface. She has made comments about love being painful sometimes. When Brooks said in his PI before he met with her that MARRYING her is not going to happen, the family meeting, no mind of his own....I hope she didn't vomit watching the last episode.

Taking Brooks back after he has some type of EPIPHANY would make a great romance novel.

I feel badly for her. Real life will not be like a romance novel.

TG for the other 2 guys being off the hook, and out of this mess.

For once, I would have liked to see a STRONG woman come out of this and tell the dumper to go away.

I don't believe Des to be weak and lacking in self respect, that is my opinion as yours is the opposite. Another way of thinking could be that a strong, courageous woman will go with her heart's desire, even if it's possible that her heart will be broken down the road. A less courageous, weak woman runs, and then may spend the rest of her life thinking, what if? I believe it taking leaps of faith when the opportunity presents itself. We have no idea what brings them back together, that entire conversation itself might change some people's perceptions, and then again it may not. I choose to wait and see but still will applaud her for taking the path that she feels is right for her. I think that's Brooks, but if it's one of the other guys, ok. They're both great guys as well but from what we've seen, she gave her whole heart to Brooks ... can she go forth with Chris or Drew with less than her whole heart? Time will tell on all fronts.

After what was shown last week, I genuinely find that sad. Des is going to get lambasted for being weak and pathetic all over the media. And Brooks will not fare much better. This is why I rarely watch this franchise anymore. Fleiss will do anything for ratings regardless of the hot mess he leaves. If this was her choice, everything we saw last week was best left on the cutting room floor.

With that being said, I stand by milk....
