(I not even invested in this season like I have been in other seasons.) Anyways, I think I might know what Des means when she made the statement about what she wanted versus needed. She wanted a man who could communicate his feelings but needed Brooks. Just a thought.no idea

That is just awful even to read. So basically  she settled.

No, settling would be choosing Drew or Chris.  Her heart is with Brooks so I don't call that settling.

IF she did the bolded then yes she settled.  Regardless if her heart was with someone or not. Her intention was to break her old patterns of behaviour and she picked exactly her old pattern. Someone unable and unwilling to communicate effectively. She settled.
Huge IF again though.

The poor girl. Except for Brooks' diehard fans, other viewers will see Des as a weak woman, who took a guy back , after she chased him on TV and he dumped her for 45 minutes.
Her happiness is all that's important, but whose going to believe she's happy after all the hurtful things he said on TV? He wished she was in love with Chris or Drew. He pitied her. His behavior was just plain yucky. She still held on to Brooks, just like Sean, when he was letting her go. She deserves better. I hope for her sake she lets them all go and has a fresh start in the real world.

Honestly I'm still holding out for an epiphany for Des. I want to see her get her happy ending.

WOW!  I can understand that you don't like him but that is pretty low when you don't even know him.

My post has nothing to do with whether or not I like him. Rarely do I get that far with any of the cast, as you are right, I don't know them. I say rarely, as some I do get to know.
So to say I don't like him, is an incorrect interpretation, I don't care either way enough to like or dislike him as he and I do not have a relationship. My postings are a commentary on my opinion based on what I do know about him and see on my screen. I am not the first to call him wishy washy--CH did himself.
When you make the choice to put yourself out there--you are a target for all kinds of snark and opinions.
As far as being "low", believe me I have restrained myself this season on all fronts. I think I deserve kudos for behaving!!! High clap

The reality is Brooks didn't "get there "with her on the show. That does not make him a bad guy in fact I think him leaving was a great think to do for Des and it took a lot of courage and character.

Maybe the format not right for him emotionally.
Two great people that gave it a chance in a crazy situation,
but it fell a little short.
There are lessons to be learned on both sides and most that come out of this feel the experience helped them open up emotionally and it helps them examine themselves better. No matter what the outcome they are grateful for the experience.
Brooks , Chris and Drew all good men. Des a great girl.

My feeling is that Brooks returns, but it's more of the same confusion and indecisiveness and not ready to commit . A little too little - a little too late .

In the end she will choose  Chris- the man who loves her and she feels "she has never felt this loved before " by.
Maybe not exactly what she thought she wanted originally, but def what she " needs".

Most comments from viewers on wetpaint, us weekly and hollywoodlife are urging her to take Brooks back if he returns. Hollywoodlife did a whole article on how she shouldn't give up on Brooks. I don't think she will be seen as weak because I think he will be very persuasive. JMO

Whatever the reason it didn't work I not invested
in the outcome.

Its easier for me to picture Brooks down on one knee then see Des pick Chris.

I agree that Brooks may have been parsing words when speaking to his Mom and sister. Exotic dates v/s Fantasy Suite dates - totally different connotations. However, he has traveled with his ex so, he is not adverse to overnight excursions with women. Dude has some serious issues here, not sure how much of it was that Des was dating other guys and here is is supposed to propose not even knowing that she loved him. I know that is the premise of the show, but sometimes you do not expect for your feelings to run so deeply. Me and this show would never mix because NO ONE would be kissing the man I love without me pitching a serious fit and walking. Anyway, hopefully Des, Brooks, Chris and Drew will all find love and happiness. "Love and Happiness" isn't that a song?

I don't see that happening at this point with Brooks . In the end this experience and heartbreak may lead her to a man who loves her as much as she loves him.
Maybe not Chris , but someone who is 100% confident in their feelings for her and her love is equally reciprocated .

IA. Those type of realizations don't happen in 5 days though and that's why I just know Chris isn't her guy.

For example, about 10 years ago, I remember deciding to date this great guy because I thought the guy I really liked would never be interested in me. And although I was right about my crush never liking me, I was wrong to date the other guy. It didn't last very long because the truth was my heart was never 100% into it as much as I wanted it to be. I naively caused this guy a lot of pain, and I learned a valuable lesson. A lesson that really influenced the choice I would make about 4 years later when meeting my hubby.

I think Chris would have been great for Des, but getting engaged to him at that point would have been just wrong. Brooks has her heart & he broke it, don't know how many times she said that. She barely gets through the next RC. At this point, just let Chris and Drew go home with their dignity.
