Ask Brad Womack how often he discussed the show with Emily...
Emily and Des are night and day. I mean, they have zero in common.

No guy in love, even a confused guy, hopes his girl is in love with someone else.
I found that statement very telling.
I def saw a guy struggling not wanting to hurt her and feeling bad at how devastated she was .
But feeling bad you hurt someone should not be confused with being in love.
Brooks a decent guy. Breaking a girls heart never easy.
When he returns, i would really question if i were Des if it is more out of guilt for leaving than a real revelation of "love " at that point, especially after his talk with CH and his family where he admitted to not being in love with her.
They showed it all to us. We saw him in Utah with a big smile on his face telling us that he is very happy with where this is going and he is closer to marriage than he has ever been in his life.
We see him walking very confidently and with a big smile on his face into the RC.
Zak is eliminated, Des walks him out, and Brooks says, "I don't think he saw it coming". His whole demeanor has changed, he is back to pensive, serious Brooks. The wheels are turning in double time in his mind. I'm sure he came off of his HTD very confident about his feelings for her and her for him. Then he sees Zak being blindsided and he thinks at this point, if she can fool him, she can fool me. He then starts convincing himself that he doesn't care as much for her as he thought he did to give himself an out because he can't bear the thought of getting even more invested in her than he already is only to have the rug pulled out from underneath him. The man truly cares for her, the looks on his face when his mother and sister were talking about her. He was truly conflicted when he was talking to Des. I don't think even he believed some of the words he was saying. He didn't want to leave her and was already missing her. The comment about hoping she had fallen in love with Drew or Chris was an effort to make himself feel better about his decision. If she was in love with Drew or Chris then he had made the right decision in getting out early and saving himself that hurt AND Des would be happy and have what she was wanting. It was part of his rationalization process. I definitely think Brooks will have his moment of clarity.
Interesting take - I like it
Hopefully that is that case .
Brooks is terribly confused.
Not sure a week enough time to find real clarity.

One minute he's saying he hopes des finds love with Chris and drew and the other he's crying because he doesn't want to go and he misses their time together. And I totally missed the part where he was asking her what he should do, like should he go? Homeboy is confused. I think he loves her and this speed dating process was just not for him.
All he needed to hear is that she loved him and everything changed for him. He also thought she conflicted about her feelings with the other 2 guys until she explained she was conflicted because she wanted to give her whole heart to only him. He will be back and he will propose. You don't go thru all that crying and saying you don't want to leave her and not be in love with her. He just needed a jolted but I am sorry it was at the expense of breaking Des heart.
I know. You could see all the miscommunication going on with these two. All of a sudden she's revealing these little nuggets that makes him less than certain. In a real life relationship, that little problem of miscommunication probably would've never occurred. But that just proves how real he was on this show, that it took a real life conversation (without the limits of this show) to bring him around. He wasn't prepared to say he loved her the minute he smelled her perfume.
I love when she tells him she loves him—his reaction.

It may happen but I think it's very possible that Des will say it's too late. She heard what he said to her so she knows he's not in love with her at the FD so why would she think a few days will change everything? I'm not even sure Brooks will return or propose after everything we saw last night. If he does it's not going to feel real to me. I don't buy that he was just afraid that she didn't love him. He already knew that she was closer to being in love than he was so why would it matter? I have no issue with him not being sure or even leaving but it's the returning that I'd have trouble with if it magically includes a proposal he said he wasn't ready for. I hope that Des really takes time to see what she really wants when the gaga stage goes away. She deserves someone who does love her as much as she loves him. I hope she finds it.
CH was saying that Brooks was not into her. Period.
CH asked him if Brooks needed more time. If it were just a matter of not feeling it YET, Brooks could have taken the FS opportunity and discussed with Des without the cameras that he needs more time. Instead it seemed as though he was avoiding the FS, which tells me he's either GAY, or was afraid of Des coming on to him while he didn't feel it.
I don't know, maybe I have too much dating experience. Been there and done lots of this emotional stuff.
Think about it. How would you act if you weren't into someone vs the fact that you were falling but needed more time. I don't know why I can see it objectively and others are determined to see a fairytale.

Normally the couples don't include someone who walked away from the fantasy dates either. Brooks had a lot of explaining to do if he does return and if Des takes him back. I'd hope they'd talk about their issues and that includes what Brooks was feeling only a few days before the FRC.

My husband said (kept saying the whole episode, actually) Brooks must be gay and that he just hasn't recognized it. Brooks says there's so much he loves about Des but refuses to go to the FS.... even just to talk away from the cameras... seems like it would have been a much softer way to tell Des goodbye.Ariela wrote:albean99 wrote:I find it surprising that so many people think that Brooks will return, propose, & then just assume that Des will say yes. I'm not saying they shouldn't talk about it but its not a clue that he wasn't chosen. IMO. Des seems like the type to forgive and move on. Emily is NOT that type. AT ALL!

A sign that that might have been on his mind is that he told his mom and sister that he was going to Antigua to go on his "exotic date". He didn't say "fantasy suite date" to them for a reason.

We are definitely reading different interviews. I just got done reading something MOT posted earlier today ABC thing.Pattycake92 wrote:CH did not say he wasn't into her. He wasn't as far along as her but he was def into her. CH said Brooks was confused in his extra interview. I thought he was very indecisive. Very conflicted.

One person's opinion....SusieQ wrote:Lovely. Now he's gay. Well, my hub thought he was being smart because he hardly knows the girl. Not enough time to propose to her. Also, you have to keep in mind Brooks is Mormon and hanging out with a girl all night at any time is considered a big deal, and in some cases, not good. Not that that was his problem, but he could've been considering how serious that all was.

Bolded-that was a snark.
If we're going to discuss the entire premise of this show that it's crazy to have them propose, I'm on board 100%.
I can see falling for someone and dating after the show but expecting a proposal in 8-10 weeks is nuts.
