Yeah, that would be super nice, but then I think you'd get 1) viewers complaining about how small the ring is (although Aaron bought Helene a pretty sizable one) and 2) not as much enticement, for the financially inclined, to say yes (not looking at you at all Emily).

There's also the issue of sponsors and product placement...

2) I know I am in the minority, but I don't think JP is all that hot.  He is, however, a nice guy who seems sincere.

I totally agree, and he should. Its his show, he's going to do everything he can to make RS look like a fool. All contestants know before hand the posibilites of being smeared and thrown under the bus so he's covered there. Prior to RS, there weren't any problems sleuthing. He comes along and ruins his show. He's not going to be duped, we all know he's been trying to intimidate RS, law suits etc. Say what you want about Fleiss, but I'm sure he's not in the business to air shows with poor viewership. He's going to do what it takes. It wouldn't surprise me if he warned everyone, if the ending gets leaked, they are all fired. That would be one way to stop the internal leaks.

IMO, it appears, he gets the misinformation out there early. Real early, before the show airs. So now everyone thinks they know who the F1 is, and will focus soley on that person while the show is airing, keeping the attention away from the real F1

During Ali's season, the spoiler was out months before, that she picked no one. Sleuthers were so disappointed, they just wanted the seaon over with and on to the next Bachelor. Then another spoiler came out, she picked Chris L, then no one, then Roberto, then RS says its Roberto or no one, back and forth it went. Then Melinda Havea, comes along and posts she chose Roberto, no one believed her because the spoilers said she didn't pick anyone. Very little sleuthing was done.

After her Oscar performance when Frank left, no one thought she chose anyone. We all know what happened after that.

I do believe that Des and Chris could be happily engaged and in love now, but that engagement last night was the biggest WTH moment I've seen from this show in a long time. I would have preferred to see Brooks come back, and if she was really in love with Chris, reject Brooks and choose Chris, or walk away alone and choose to date Chris at the ATFR (like Jason and Molly did).

But according to CH she also told him she loved Chris in Madeira and no one seems to remember that - which is kind of understandable because when we think we know who the F1 is, anything she says about the others we tend to write off in our minds...

Des said she was falling in love with Chris in Madeira but she said she was already in love with Brooks. Said HTD solidified her feelings and that she wanted a proposal from Brooks. I'm happy for Des and Chris but I wish CH would stop trying to oversell as though we are all idiots...we all saw it, we all heard it and we all know the truth. I can 100% believe that she is well on her way to being, if not already over Brooks today but on May 6th she was NOT.

Chris might also wanna dig out the old VHS of Jen Scheft's season because she ended up with no one.

I loved it all last night. I thought all three final guys are good, sincere men. Fleiss always says this is a dating show and it shows all different types of relationships. Falling for the wrong guy happens to many young women, especially those with some insecurities and lower self esteem. I loved what Des said, "my heart was broken, but not my spirit". She always really, really liked Chris..she took the time out to write poems for him, and to sketch their dating highlights. He was always on her mind. I think they look really wonderful and happy together and I wish them the very best.

No, I am not trying to stalk him - I was just curious if he really did live in Miami. Uh, yep - he sure does!

A little o/t but to the ladies that went to the ATFR...did you see Petr and/or Cassie? Is she still pregnant?

Overall, I agree with you. But one thing to remember:

I think all proposals and acceptances on this show are leaps of faith, and in this case no different - although it probably had to be a bigger leap of faith than usual.

Just remember that these aren't real proposals, so you have to take that lens off of it.  They are expressions of hope for a possible future together, with the Bachelor Bubble giving them incentive to frame it as a proposal.

It is a lot easier to believe when you look at that way.

It happened some in the early seasons, when the rings they got were less pricey.  I think now with the Neil Lane deal they HAVE to use the rings he offers.  And, well, it is the only "pay" the show's "winner" gets.  There is just nothing normal about the situation, and that includes the ring.  But, yeah, you do have to wonder how this one little factor affects the relationship long term; it certainly takes away from the romantic storyline they get to share with kids and grandkids.
