I had to inform that jerk that there was not a revolving door on my house or my heart and to scram!
Ironically, as I type this, The Band Perry is singing "All I wanna Be is Done!" on the Today show. I love that song.
Luv it! My favorite song for an occasion like that is by Helen Reddy. "I am woman, hear me roar" Guess I'm dating myself.
Love it! How about Arethra Franklin "R E S P E C T find out what it means to me!"
Here's what I would love to see Monday ... Des stopping Brooks in his tracks with one hand saying "talk to the hand" while tossing him a quarter with the other one saying "call someone who cares!" I would definitely be up singing and dancing for that scenario.

Well, we are all different that's for sure. To each his own...But I believe like Desiree. When Two people Truly love each other through the good the bad the ups and downs they will survive . I think we have become such a throw away society people don't try very hard anymore !! Relationships have become easily disposed of. I think Brooks and Desiree will be okay...I have high hopes.

I do believe we are a throw away society and the divorce rate is so high because individuals are not willing to put in the work. I do believe in love an the power it holds.
Where I have the trouble is calling it "love" when you are dating 25 guys, in exotic locations and have spent about two days together total. Toss in MF who sees ratings tank and needs drama and puts circus master CH in the middle to stir the pot while also releasing tidbits of footage with VO to try and bring the drama level up.
JMHO but love and MF should never be put together nor should deep love that lasts in context of this format. It seems like an arranged marriage/engagement. How many seasons and how many actually make it?
To me it just keeps getting sicker every season. Just when I thought Ben and little miss " I got the rooooooose" took the cake MF kicks it up a notch. Just not feeling the spark babe to quote one past winner who turned out to be a real master manipulator. Simply fake.

Ben's season was cringe-worthy but Jake and Vienna, that was just awful. And there were a couple seasons in there- like with the "prince"- that I just stopped watching altogether.
I don't necessarily disbelieve- but we call them The Powers That Be for a reason. In the end this show is like life more than it's not really.... Sometimes you get Jash and sometimes you get Courtney/Vienna. The stinky ones squirt out 15 minutes of fame and the good ones make lemonade from their lemons. It's all what you make of it.

Hi auntie! :WAVEY:
First off, I have watched every stinking season of this show and laughed my way through most of them. I wonder what that says about me. :P
"squirt out 15 minutes of fame"
I think I might have to quote you in my siggie.

Apparently this is the thread to be for lightheartedness and chuckles. I might just stay here to this mess...erh show... is over.

I think you are being too hard on Des and Brooks. As a man I believe that he was sincere when he said he was not yet in love enough to propose marriage. If this show ended in a "let's keep dating and see what happens" agreement things would be different. A marriage proposal requires a lot more (and of course that is why so may of these TB "engagements"s fall apart). I also believe when she said she loved him and he said "why didn't you tell me?" he was genuinely surprised and began to rethink what he had said to her.
My own personal experience is that I was in love with a woman but I felt that she was moving too fast so I told her I couldn't continue the relationship. She was devastated and so was I. After I realized how much I needed to be with her I asked for a second chance. She said yes, and we agreed to keep on dating.
Thirty-two years, three kids, and five grandchildren later we are still in love and best friends.

Nice story just like Brooks and Des except without the 32 years and 3 kids.
I hope they have a happy ending like you'll did.

Hallelujah Alanna!!! I agree that love has it's ups and downs etc as others have said but this is NOT LOVE. Brooks said so himself. I am hoping that Des has the backbone to send him packing and holds out for real love. My story is that real love is very simple and it just IS..No angst, no drama, no doubt and questioning, it is very simple, quiet, easy and real. And you know it when you have it...you just know.

Many thanks for providing a male's perspective and one that required your wife to take a chance, to be strong and accept your word and love after having been rejected at first for loving you. I am sure you have felt blessed throughout your 32 years together that you were given this chance. Everyone is different, everyone has had experiences both ways to be sure. I tend to favor those willing to try even at the expense that they may have their heart broken not once by the same person, but maybe even twice. The rewards they reap can be so great, like your circumstance.lithargic wrote:richmondrose wrote:Chacharo wrote:Alanna wrote:I'm pretty sure I will be calling Des stupid on Monday when she accepts Brooks proposal (if that is what happens). Whatever happened this season or any, if they are happy then I say good for them and I wish them well! I haven't found my love story yet .... but when I do I'm positive it will include A LOT of laughter and a healthy dose of not taking ourselves too seriously.
