I think you are being too hard on Des and Brooks. As a man I believe that he was sincere when he said he was not yet in love enough to propose marriage. If this show ended in a "let's keep dating and see what happens" agreement things would be different. A marriage proposal requires a lot more (and of course that is why so may of these TB "engagements"s fall apart). I also believe when she said she loved him and he said "why didn't you tell me?" he was genuinely surprised and began to rethink what he had said to her.

My own personal experience is that I was in love with a woman but I felt that she was moving too fast so I told her I couldn't continue the relationship. She was devastated and so was I. After I realized how much I needed to be with her I asked for a second chance. She said yes, and we agreed to keep on dating.

Thirty-two years, three kids, and five grandchildren later we are still in love and best friends.

I loved hearing this. A man's perspective vs all us women. Whew! What a breath of fresh air to know that other men have walked in Brooks' shoes and knows it's possible to live happily after. Congratulations on your life and happy family. Thanks for your insights!! bowdown
