It's not that he doesn't FEEL these things for her all the time. I'm sure she can trust him as much as she always could, because he's always been completely honest and open with her. I'm sure they come to see eye to eye.
If Brooks wasn't open and honest with her then he wouldn't have the guts to tell her at his HTD that they "have a good relationship", that he's having a hard time. He tells her that and that takes guts, especially when there are three other guys that could take her away. He doesn't tell her he loves her just to make sure she keeps him around. He doesn't want to say it any sooner than he knows it.][/quote/]
Who's to say what happens, anyway? Does he really "leave" or does she just take something he says wrong, in a way he didn't expect? (Which makes more sense based on what he says "There's nothing I can say.") I think she must just take something wrong. Or, maybe he's just royally confused and doesn't know what he wants at that point, so it sounds like a letting go, but he's just confused—and her response doesn't make it any better. I must say that I find it comical that you speak as if you KNOW Brooks, have personally met with him and are privately privy to all of his feelings. Forgive me if your personal relationship with Brooks has suddenly changed in the last few days. I would challenge, however, that you are speaking in opinions rather than exact knowledge. [b]The truth is that none of us here actually know any of this for sure. [b].][/quote/]LLiza wrote:
You basically took the words right out of my mouth. I don't understand why anyone would feel the need to praise Brooks at the expense of the other three guys. I think that Drew, Zak and Chris seem to all be great guys who come from wonderful families. These guys do fall under the spell of the bach bubble while on the show. I have no doubt that their declarations of love were sincere at the time. However, once the show is over and they return to real life then they all seem to be able to move on. Even the lead and the F1 encounter trouble once they are again in real life. That's why so few of these relationships have worked out long term.
The truth is that we don't know these guys. We can try to assess them based on what we see of them on the show. I wouldn't even bother to speculate as to what happens with Brooks and Des. But to in some way think that he is better than the other guys because he has held back in expressing his feelings, is quite disingenuous. I always wonder if it's really about building up one's favorite.
Native and LLiza, you both have summed things up great. I don't understand how it is right to pump up your fave by knocking down the others, especially when they are good. I almost hate this time of the season as sometimes things get "sparky" around here.
Guys, one Brooks fan does not speak for ALL Brooks fans. I think that Des did a wonderful job selecting her F4 guys. And although I see the connection with Brooks and are rooting for them as a couple, if in the end she picks Chris or Drew I think she'd be one lucky girl.
I second that! Thanks for the sentiment, sfrank! It's appreciated. I also do think it's best not to generalize or lump everyone together. I will agree that Des did a great job with her F4. I think she managed to get rid of a few rotten apples and the ones for whom she just didn't feel anything.
Same - not fair to paint all fans of a certain contestant with the same brush or assume they all think the same way.
I love Desiree and all the F4 and am quite impressed at the quality of these people. I'm enjoying Desiree's story with each guy, and often by this point I just want to skip through the show to see my favourite. She is engaging with each in a different way.
And even though I get the comparison, the tone of the 2 seasons are so opposite, that I hate to see what will go down as one of my favourites season's (This One) compared to the distasteful, unwatchable crap-fest that was Ben's (sorry I have a strong opinion on that one).

No. We had spoilers saying it was Stream--oops Brooks.
And that is all we have had regarding F1.
The other pieces of the puzzle--are still just that.

Agree! I usually end up not reading a lot of it. I've seen too many seasons on message boards where people were convinced of a certain outcome and they really fall hard when things aren't exactly as they seem ... which, of course, is the norm for this show.
I don't think the set-up we are being shown bodes well for a long-term happy relationship with Des and any of these guys.

Aww, tanks for your thoughts Rolly! I do think there is more to Brooks leaving, and as of yet, I don't know if he returns, but in the meantime, it does look like she has carried on with the other guys.Rolly wrote:Aunties_Love you are right about lots of stuff but what I was referring to is: (you have probably already forgotten about this but to clarify)
I said in the end Des ends up with Brooks, the guy she has loved since the beginning
Canyonvue said that was a fact (that Des and Brooks end up together)
You said it's not a fact yet because we don't know yet FOR SURE what the ending is and I agreed with you.
I hope Des ends up with Brooks but really I think all three guys are great...they all love her (I know Brooks hasn't said it but I think he does). We also don't know yet what happens to make Des cry even though it's looking like it has something to do with Brooks. I don't think Brooks leaves her but we shall see.

Never! That's what I think is so freaking odd. Since when do they focus so much on a contestant that isn't in the running for The Bachelor?
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

But at this stage all three were in the running for the next bachelor. The other two probably more so, after HTD's Brooks was the front runner.

That press release certainly didn't clear anything up either, just poses new possible scenarios.

Didn't Frank stay behind to see if his "ex" would take him back? But I guess he arrived in time for his scheduled FD.

I think after the talk and freaking out, and a cliffhanger into Aug 5, it will be the normal 2 guys MTP and normal 2 guys go to the FRC.

It could be the article we read about FD & MTP being next week is correct, which could be why Nate Hartsock thinks RS is wrong (he only met Drew & Chris). I think whatever is shared with Des, and its her that tells Brooks to go, continues on with MTP, and then right at the end of next weeks episode he comes back to fight for her, cliffhanger until the following week. She decides to go on a LCD date with him (of course they'll hide those SC's), and then lets Drew go on his. I think she probably doesn't decide to let Drew go until part-way through their date.
