Nice sentiments. I have really never hoped for a happy ending coming out of this craziness more than for Desiree. And if a happy ending means moving on from the experience on her own, I'd vote for that as much as for her choosing Brooks. Either way she came through it with her class, values and confidence intact so good for her.

I know that you didn't ask me, but I didn't see that. I saw her as very happy and having fun most of the season. The bad guys were just blips. Of course, she had Brooks the whole season (her apparent universe on the show). And thus, at the end of the season, when Brooks is going to leave "You are the only one who has kept me here."

I didn't see her as unhappy this season either. In fact, she seems to have had a blast most of the time. Even during the 'revelations' that someone wasn't there for the right reason or was leaving, I thought she took it in stride after momentarily being upset.

I think it has happened before; Ashley with Bentley comes to mind. But Des has had IMO, some tough situations to wade through...I think she cared for Byran and he left, then the Ben stuff, then the Mikey and James stuff, now the tears at the pier where she is openly sobbing. She looked at times to me to be exhausted during the season...more so than just from the pace of the series. I think she was emotionally spent a good bit of the time. If she comes out happy, I say good for her. And she does seem happy in the last few interviews. At the season's beginning, I was concerned because she seemed so lethargic about it all, I thought she might have chosen no one, or that she and her F1 were not getting along out side the Bach bubble.

I don't know how you could be kissing all these gorgeous guys as much as she did and be miserable. Sometimes I wonder if her emotional periods were more because she trusted the guys were being honest and true and then to see that they weren't 100% of the time was hard. I didn't see her being that into Bryden (sad that he chose to leave), Ben (caused conflict in the house), Mikey (cute but a non-factor) or James ( I think she felt played). I think of all the really fun times...the rap, the cowboy scene, the igloo and sledding, first date with Brooks :Drool: ,dodgeball, Mr. America, cloud 9, seeing all those beautiful cities...that girl had a blast and she kissed a lot...she should be exhausted. Did I say she kissed a lot?!? cheerleader

It would be enough to tire anyone out but one heck of a good time!!!

And did I mention that the guy she has loved from the beginning is the guy she is engaged to...doesn't get any better than that....

I think it would be tough for most anyone to go through what they put them through. I think Des is a trouper, did the job she was supposed to do and did it well. I think she found pleasure in the small things and worked hard at not letting all the crap they threw at her not get her down. She had her eye on the finale and thought she had it figured out when they throw something at her that goes beyond anything we have seen before. She deserves her happy ending, whatever that might be.

Who's to say what happens, anyway? Does he really "leave" or does she just take something he says wrong, in a way he didn't expect? (Which makes more sense based on what he says "There's nothing I can say.") I think she must just take something wrong. Or, maybe he's just royally confused and doesn't know what he wants at that point, so it sounds like a letting go, but he's just confused—and her response doesn't make it any better. I must say that I find it comical that you speak as if you KNOW Brooks, have personally met with him and are privately privy to all of his feelings. Forgive me if your personal relationship with Brooks has suddenly changed in the last few days. I would challenge, however, that you are speaking in opinions rather than exact knowledge. The truth is that we don't know these guys. We can try to assess them based on what we see of them on the show. I wouldn't even bother to speculate as to what happens with Brooks and Des. But to in some way think that he is better than the other guys because he has held back in expressing his feelings, is quite disingenuous. I always wonder if it's really about building up one's favorite.

Native and LLiza, you both have summed things up great. I don't understand how it is right to pump up your fave by knocking down the others, especially when they are good. I almost hate this time of the season as sometimes things get "sparky" around here.

I don't see it as a fact till the end of the show. Unless you happen to personally know Brooks or Des and they directly told you, I don't think it is a FACT. What we do have are spoilers, but could they be false...YES and NO. It all depends on whether we have ALL been fleissed as maybe, just maybe he's finally found a way to mess with all of our heads.
