And why we would put any weight into what MF says or tweets is beyond me. He's the manipulation master.
Happens every year! What's he supposed to say? This has been the most obvious season in show history. Maybe even more than Ben's.

I always try to remember that these people are much younger than I am. My life experience has taught me a lot, the hard way! So it's easy for me to see what is going on and the warning signs for Des and Brooks. I absolutely agree that if it has to be that complicated and the guy bails and then comes back, it usually doesn't work out. When it's that difficult and you have to work that hard and someone leaves and then comes back, it's just an indication that it was not meant to be. Now others may see it quite differently. The other argument could be that if they can surmount these obstacles, then it will stand the test of time. But given how quickly everything happens on this show and how difficult it is to really know each other in a compressed period of time, then I do think this kind of struggle is indicative of a relationship that won't make it in the long term.
Native, ITA. I'm also older and in younger days felt like the struggle proved that you had feelings for each other ... and it was worth fighting for. But experience taught me that just the opposite is true. Having been there, done that, I can now see that when it's right, there is no struggle; it's just easy. No fear, no hesitation, just trust and love.
No more speculation on how the next few episodes play out as I have been wrong on so many guesses. However, I will speak to what I KNOW. I disagree with the above. I dated my husband for a year when he suddenly decided he wasn't ready for a relationship. I cried my eyes out for two days when he came back with a letter saying he was wrong (he even quoted the poem about letting a butterfly go and if it comes back it was meant to be.). We have now been married 34 years. And we still love each other like crazy and he is the most loyal, attentive, loving husband anyone could ever imagine.
Just a note for the younger folks so that they do not assume a few days of hesitation means it is over!
I really appreciate you sharing your personal story and it's a wonderful one. The only thing I would say is that in this instance we are dealing with a reality tv show in which the contestants have precious little time to get to know the lead. It's a very compressed and unusual situation with all these men competing for one woman. So it's nothing like what happens in real life.
You dated your husband for a year. The two of you had some time to get to really know each other. Then something happened. That's not all that unusual. However, I don't think what you went through is analogous to what is happening with Des and Brooks. I believe that I made an earlier post in which I said that the flip side of the argument is that some may feel that having ups and downs or even breaking up, can bring them closer in the end. My caveat was that this would be true in real life and your story is a perfect example. This show has nothing to do with real life. That's why so many of these couples don't last. So my point is that they don't even really know each other hat well yet, haven't been together long enough and are having these kinds of problems.
The bottom line is that there may be more than one way to look at this. I gave my reasons why I think it indicates trouble but most of these couples don't make it even without the struggles. So we can each agree to have our own point of view.
I am very happy for you!

I'd love that convo. It's always interesting. Like how Ash told JP she loved him in FS but rubbed mud all over Ben and got down and dirty.

With Des .. Brooks leaves for ""other"" reasons .. Relating to LOVE .. They are BOTH devastated ...the other guys only find out that he is gone .. Will see her reaction .. But his return may be completely unknown to the other guys
She may well go thru a seemingly normal FRC with Chris
Leaving as a normal F2 and even possibly as Drew as an F1 .. Or not .. As I don't see her settleing as a valid option to finish out the season
But .. She could possibly send both home .. Ala Brad .. And then Brooks shows .. Things are worked out and .. Wallaaaaa .. 2 possible options....... If Drew was F1 .. She opts out of that .. And if he isn't .. Well no problem .. And accepts Brooks as her F1
The fairy tale is complete
Reminds me of Cinderella and/or Snow Whites story lines .. Losing ones eternal love .. only to be reunited..... Happy ending

sophienette Brooks was spotted at the Atlantic City airport today. So, he was still in Florida. Tells me he's not Final 1, no?
