Episode 5 - 5/7 - Ready For Love - Discussion - Spoilers

I know women that are committed to virginity until marriage who most of the time dress fairly modestly, but they do sometimes wear the tight, short dresses and go to bars and drink, etc. to those kinds of event. They sometimes worry a little bit that they're afraid that people will judge them, especially their church friends.

I'm not religious but I sometimes feel for them because I'm modest most of the time but sometimes when I go out, I wanna dress "hot" like most other 22-23 year olds. I don't judge them though because I know they're good people and know that they're just saving themselves for the right man. They can dress like that, but they won't let someone take advantage of them.

Oh geez, it's not like she's 40, she's 24! So she didn't want to do it with her prom date and go crazy in college ( don't know if she even went). As someone who went to Christian school and Christian college for 16 years -it's ingrained into your brain that you don't have sex before you are married. It's such a huge deal. I think for Angela it's become such a way of life (that's how I was) that you don't even think about how you dress - at that point you want to dress like any other 24 year old. You just don't put yourself in positions where the guy would want to take it further. Obviously with Ben, they aren't going to start doing it on national tv. I've seen bigger teases then her. The only thing that ever turned me off about her was that it was the first thing she wanted him to know about herself. To me, it seemed like a defense mechanism.... like an immediate wall was put up.

I agree! She's got a rocking body and deserves to flaunt it. As far as her telling Ben so quickly, wonder if producers strongly encouraged it? Makes for good buzz.

I get that. Her Vegas dress didn't bother me. A tight dress is one thing, but in her Derby dress she is exposing a bit much IMO. I'm just not a fan of Angela's (yet). Maybe I will warm up to her in some future episodes. She always seems on the sour side, but she has handled herself with maturity thus far.

Ben - Yay! He did it! :youdaman: Okay, about the show...I am starting to warm up to Angela. I can see that Ben is too. They had a little chemistry thing going on and he was looking pretty intently at her. Looking forward to watching this relationship grow and develop. Having said that, I'm pretty surprised that he proposes.

Tim - I think he is pretty transparent. It's all about Jenna at this point. I'm not sure there is sufficient time or a reason for that to change. Sara's time seemed forced in comparison, but she clearly has a connection with him...at least she is trying to convince Tim of that. He seemed more guarded with her and more free with Jenna.

Ernesto - Probably my least favorite at this time. I'm not feeling Shandi, although Ernesto clearly is. I agree with Matt that she came off a little high maintenance. Alba's story was so sad. I wonder what makes her leave and come back? That smacks producer manipulation to me and I'm not a fan to someone that caves in to the gimmicks. I hope I am wrong. Not feeling it with any of his girls.

Hawaii should be fun next week.

I so agree with this. Angela handled herself well in the situation. With class but I too am so sick of the virginity thing with her. I know a lot of women who are virgins when they got married. Her personal choice but why did it have to be the first thing she said to Ben. I'll tell ya why...she knew the power that it has. Men love unconquered territory. To be the first at something and Ben being a very successful and competitive man latched onto it. She is a tall, leggy, sexy, (not sold on pretty yet) girl who no man has deflowered. Whatever. There is something fake about her that I just can't wrap my head around. I am also becoming less enamored with Ben's part of the show. Never really liked his girls and he just seemed so winey at times, mister "I'm scared". Also hearing he proposes after only a few months just throws me off. I mean what, does he just want to be the first to stick his flag into planet Angela? I am just not feeling the connections or sincerity with his part of the show. I don't mean to sound mean or anything. Ben's last show looked like something out of Jerry Springer. Whats with the whole boxing thing too. I mean throw these girls in a ring who are already competing for a guy and have intense feelings against one another and let them fight over him (basically). Totally weak move on Ben's part. Your in Vegas....it's an adult playground and he chooses boxing? I know he does and his brother is a fighter but really?? Am I being too harsh ladies? Like I said just a little let down by his portion. When the show started his was the story I wanted to watch. Now not so much. :bigsigh:

No way! It's reality tv and they signed up for it. That's our right on these forums to give our honest opinion. I agree that I didn't like how it was the first thing Angela put out there and also agree that it played into Ben's competitive side. If she knew that it would -she's a genius (maybe Tracey knew it would ) I think at first he even felt a little uncomfortable around her - like he didn't know what his boundaries were. LOL

I'm still thrown by the proposal. I was trying to look at the SC of the scene to see if it could have been filmed at a later time. Like maybe he just took her back there to propose (?), but the flowers were all still in bloom much like they were on the date.

I have no idea where my fixation with Angela's boobs comes from, cuz I'm happy with my "portion", but watching her Vegas 1on1 date and that dress was little weird. Can someone please direct me to a good push-up bra selection for backless gowns?

I thought Ben would be the bachelor I would like best, but not so much. Not feeling it. I like Ernesto and didn't expect for him to be my favorite, but not too sure about Shandi. I'm going to ask this again. Could they be tricking us with that hand because it seems to easy to figure out that it's Shandi's? Are there any previews out there? If they had done this show with 2 bachelors, 2 matchmakers and 1 host it might have worked.
