Episode 5 - 5/7 - Ready For Love - Discussion - Spoilers

Good Lord 30 is so young I can't believe anyone would say that. I married my HS sweetheart at 30 and didn't have my first child at 34. I was with him 13 years before we said I do. My sis got married at 35 and had her first baby at 38. My one friend just had a baby at 41. There are no rules and definitely does not mean there is anything wrong with you if your not married with kids by your 30s. We had stuff we wanted to do before we got married and had kids. Personal decision. I live next to DC women out here get married much later and according to my OBGYN 42 is the average age to have a baby in this area so that is why I am so shocked people think 30s is old to not be married or have kids. I think you should get married and have kids when you are good and ready to do that and definitely when you find the right person. You are a so young in your 30s. LIVE IT UP! :cutesmile!: Once you go down the kid road there is no going back. :yougogirl: I love being married and having children but every once in a while I actually get jealous of you young single gals, Im 41 now (still young though I know)! Kind of if I knew then what I know now things.

happygoluck. Now that we cleared the air we can be buds. Maybe I am to sensitive, and by the way who ever is telling you 30 is old is Do not allow yourself to become upset by people. They are powerless, your reaction is their only power. Try to remember that.

Cma, all good. I guess I'm too sensitive too and then I really feel guilty when my message comes across differently than I intended. Sometimes if i write something to add to discussion I don't even look how it started, I just add to the last post, so if I would direct a message to someone in particular, I would quote a person. (just explaining for future misunderstandings) Off course sometimes I have my own opinion whether something is "right" or "wrong" and I can be quite stubborn in my own believes but then something happens that makes me see things in different light and I can change my belief, but not my values. So I like hearing other people's perspective on different things. Maybe because I'm a libra (don't know a lot about horoscope, neither do I follow it, but I know that much) and I need all ABC facts straight before I decide on something, but then when I make my decision it's pretty solid and firm (and makes me quite difficult when someone wants to question it again).

Klisack - thank you for writing your personal experience. That's the best part of reading this forum, not that I would use the information, but to hear people who have lived more, gone through things I've never experienced, that I have fears of, so I can learn something from it. Thank you all for sharing.

I think someone mentioned this already but Ben Patton is going to be on After Buzz tonight-breaking down the latest ep.

Happygolucky I am conservative and I 100% agree with this statement! People should be able to live their own lives they way they see fit if it doesn't hurt anyone else. I don't see why people get so bent about what others are doing (again if not hurting someone else) Just focus on your own life. I am just going to say this about grieving...Some people need a friend to help them through. Just because Sara is grieving about losing her love to cancer doesn't mean her heart is incapable of loving someone else. There will always be a place in her heart for the man she lost and she can still love the memory of him or even him and be in love with someone else. My heart goes out to her. Maybe this process on the show helped her move past the pain and let her be able to look at the memories with a happy heart and move on to love again. Maybe the show was kind of therapeutic.

You guys! I couldn't agree with you more! As long as you don't harm yourself or anybody else I believe you can live your life as it fits you!!!

cma- After Buzz is an online recap of tv shows. :Smiley: if you google and go to home page it has the list of shows that will load tonight. I don't know about time though.

Wow...some very interesting things Ben said on AfterbuzzTV...now if I could only remember them! Lol

Okay...I am paraphrasing here. This is to provide a general idea, but it is not word for word.

1. Ben was asked to be The Bachelor in 2008. He was 27 then and not ready to propose and settle down with anyone. RFL hired some of the producers from TB and he said they went in their Rolodex of men from TB to find him for this show.

2. Ben thinks Kari got a bad deal and was misjudged by the other girls. He also feels bad he thought she was the one causing all the drama. He thinks she was more of a target. What???

3. He was freaked out by what he saw with Aly this week. If he would have known that she reacted like that to Kari, he would have brought her down to the garden no matter who the MM's wanted. He said Matt's advice to Aly was spot on.

3. He also said everyone in the Dallas scene has known that Kari didn't stay around too long because she has been seen all over with her ex.

4. Kari came to his birthday party in Dallas, which he thought it was a nice gesture. The only problem is, she is in a network with all of the girls from the show and she let them all know she was at his birthday party. Needless to say, it didn't go over very well with the girl he chose. The AfterbuzzTV girls said they thought Kari came to the party and messaged the girls on purpose to rub it in their faces. (No, they do NOT like Kari. AT ALL!)

5. Ben talked about being a chill, laid-back guy who is too old to go out to dinner and clubbing every night until 2am. He said he would prefer to relax at home and watch a movie, chat and have pizza and wine. He is a torn jeans, flip flops and t-shirt kind of guy. He is looking for a girl who is happy with that lifestyle.

6. He brought to the hosts attention that Angela is also a pageant girl and every time he saw her she was perfectly made up, so he had a hard time feeling relaxed around her. Then there was a date we didn't see where the girls came to his house. Angela was in shorts and flip flops and he said that is where they really connected. Hmmmm...


Regarding Ernesto:

7. Ben thinks the reason why Shandi and Alba are so successful on the show is because of the poise they developed as being part of the pageant. He said they got it down pat.

Regarding Tim:

8. Ben said he thinks that Sara talking about her ex so much puts a lot of pressure on a guy. He said he would prefer a girl like Jenna, Sarah M. or Hailey, where it is just fun and easy.

I think the general consensus of the three women hosting the show was that Ben chose Angela. He had a total poker face on and turned it around by asking them who they thought the top girls were. They guessed Angela, Taryn and the booth guy chose Renee.

The hosts asked him about the proposal and he said he could not comment on that and they would have to watch the show.
