Let's hold judgement until Monday to see who is with Catherine in the audience rooting for Sean's big opening night.

I just looked at Shay's twitter history and she is not only mum about SeanCat, she is also not retweeting or responding to any of Sean's and Peta's tweets about DWTS. Here's the most recent ones:

Maybe Shay is focusing on her own life in public and totally supportive of SeanCat behind the scenes for all of their new pursuits. Or, maybe she is ticked off that they are not moving back to Dallas right away. Who knows, who cares?!

I view this as a family thing and could be nothing/could be something. EVERY family has their own drama/in-fighting so why should we expect any different here.

I am going to continue to take Sean and Catherine for their word that all is well and they have love/support of family.

Is Catherine a Christian? I've never heard her talk about religion at all.

Maybe because being spiritual to her is more important than being religious. She's probably baptized catholic (just assuming cause of filipino upbringing) and grew up embracing all faiths, is a freethinker and goes to non denominational church. Remember she said, she's non traditional. But Sean and her probably talked about it at length and she agreed to embrace his faith and raise their future children to be christians.

I really dont know why theres an issue about this, God's love is all inclusive. Why would religion be so divisive specially between two people who love each other? I really hope religion is not the reason why his sister is not warm to her cause its doing the opposite of what christianity preaches.

I was simply asking if she was a Christian. scratch

giggling haiisst sorry, I will always go off tangent when this is the topic.

Yeah at the end of the day who cares about she thinks. She will come around. This is a big change in his brother's life. He is no longer just her little brother Seanie. For better or for worse she not only have to share him with Catherine but with America judging by how immensely popular he is now.

I agree on the body language! There was nine of us watching the finale (6 married women between ages of 40-50; 3 teens).

I was the only die hard fan of Bachelor. Two were die hard Sean fans (like me, spoiled going into finale; all of us Cat fans).
One had just started watching Bachelor because of Sean and was hooked (NOT spoiled going into finale; Cat fan).
The other five were casual viewers who had not watched every episode and were not spoiled. (one Lindsay fan; others neutral)

Even with this diverse group of women/viewers we all agreed that it was obvious from Sean's body language and facial expressions that he was going to pick Catherine. His tears at proposal and at AFR says this big strong guy is a goner. So you're right, everyone needs to get on board cause it looks like Sean is going to be clinging to Catherine for quite some time.

I'm not sure that support for Sean and Catherine's relationship and concern about them making it in the long haul needs to be mutually exclusive. I know I like Sean and Catherine very much as a couple and hope for them both to have a happy, long life together. Yet, I can still see obstacles and concerns -- just because they are very much in love doesn't mean they will automatically be successful.

There appears to be a difference in their level of maturity in their faith -- not a deal breaker, but it holds potential (but not inevitable) problems. It surprised me that Sean now has possible aspirations to do more with television and stay in L.A. Is that bad? No, absolutely not, but it holds potential temptations of money and fame (which are not bad in and of themselves). Will Sean succumb to these? I don't believe he wants to. I do believe his intentions are good, but I also think it's foolish for someone to go into those things with an attitude that I would never...(fill in the blank).

So, to me, it's not surprising that Shay has simply said in her blog, "As for the future...I'm just doing what I always do...I'm praying for my brother and his new relationship. I'm praying for him to always trust in the Lord with all of his heart and live a life that pleases Him." I'm sure she is happy for her brother and Catherine and wants the best for them, but it's also reasonable to be concerned. I know if Sean were my brother, I'd feel exactly the same. She's just being protective.

As for Shay being quiet...

iloveromance wrote:How does anyone know that Sean's family has not spoken to Catherine on the phone, or skype or text, etc, these past few days? I find it hard to believe that the family I saw treat Catherine so warmly on tv, would now turn around and shun their own son's fiancee.

...exactly. I believe there has been some communication. Somewhere, floating on this site, is an interview of Sean and Catherine where he positively affirms his family's response to her, and Catherine affirms her family's response to Sean. I don't believe either Sean or Catherine would lie about that -- their answer was not evasive. It completely confirmed their families support. If Shay hadn't stayed quiet, she'd be accused of clinging on to Sean's 15 minutes. I don't think she can win either way.

Lastly, I just want to add that I believe Sean and Catherine feelings for one another are legit -- they have that spark (not sparkle). It's refreshing to see a couple emerge from the bubble with real and true feelings. I really hope they make it.

I kind of get the feeling that Sean's gone rogue and that the culmination of all the changes happening at once might be an issue. He chose someone different than probably who was expected, he is opting in for more TV shows, he's lending his name to a questionable endorsement, and he is now suggesting that he may not return home to live.

I can see how a family member might be concerned or wondering about what is driving all of these changes at once especially since they have always been close and kept in the loop. From Shay's interview this week, she appeared to have been in the dark about some of the things happening such as the TV wedding. Or, it may be they know but have differing opinions on the matters at hand.

It is just odd that neither Sean or her hubby have really commented at all. Has Jeremy chimed in at all?

Jeremy tweeted his congrats the night of the finale.

Where can I find Shay's most recent interview?

I still find it odd that neither Sean nor Catherine had any family members present in the audience at the AFTR, especially given the fact the both of Catherine's sisters reside in California. And I would have thought that someone from Sean's family would have been in attendance as well. It just seemed odd that they brought in Lesley, AshLee, Sarah and Jackie - but no one from either family.

And I agree that it is perfectly normal to have concerns about a quickie wedding happening (SO soon afterwards) - especially from family members. I can with one hundred percent certainty say that I would not want MY SON jumping into marriage after doing the Bachelorette, the Bachelor and DWTS all back-to-back. This would concern me BIG TIME!!!

And I would hope that Sean and Catherine don't feel pressured by the producers to do the televised wedding either. I don't get the need to rush into anything, although some think that it has to do with the no sex until marriage agreement. Heck, Sean is already saying and doing things that he said he would never do, so whose to say that that hasn't already fallen by the wayside. Only they know for sure.

I wonder if it was to keep the ending without complications, and in fact bringing the families into it would have cluttered it ... perhaps it would have added too much time into an already full ATFR. Bet we are going to get our eyefull of family dynamics on the wedding special. It will be wonderful.

Just one minor thing, one of Catherine's sister lives in California (she's a teacher I believe) and the other lives in Colorado. Her dad has offered nothing but support on his Facebook. I don't believe the sisters have their's open to public view. I'll just take Sean and Catherine at their word that their families are excited. Sure they may be a little apprehensive of some things, but I don't think either side really disapproves.

I think Sean and Catherine's families were not at the ATFR, because after the live show they had to leave to go to New York for GMA. With the time change and everthing, they probably had to leave right after the show.

Also, if Sean chooses not to live in Dallas, that's not anything against his family. What's to say that they have to live near HIS family? They can live anywhere they want. Maybe she wants to be near her family. I do remember Sean saying that he is open to living somewhere else, if his fiancee wanted that. He was willing to move for Emily, so I'm pretty certain he doesn't feel bound to live in Dallas. If he chooses not to stay in Dallas, it most likely has nothing to do with his family.

If the sister is gonna play hardball, they better be away from Dallas and just stay away for good.

I've lived that long run and it's not so bad. There comes a time when we all leave the family that raised us to raise our own, and a time that our children leave our family to start one of their own. You have to know when to let go and support instead of approve.
