IMO he wants $$$ (who doesn't) and his celibacy is what's making the headlines. Whether or not Cat's aware how the tabloids work is still a mystery to me. However, she is still willing to show up to support him at DWTS - for the opportunity... for the $$$, right?
I was such a hater during the whole Jason and Molly and Melissa fiasco, but they went back to normal life, preserved, did the long distance, for over a year and eventually got married. JP and Ashley left their busy life in NY to settle down and compromise in Princeton - and then got married. For Sean and Cat to be proclaiming their love and their wedding aspirations to the world after a few weeks in the Hollywood spotlight is silly to me.
I also find it odd. Especially since they (supposedly) haven't done the deed so many apparently find dirty. I guess I just don't get why watch this show when the premise is that the lead will sleep (have sex) with 3 different contestants, if not more, before the end. Please explain to me why someone who finds that sinful would watch the show in the first place?
I feel like I am being proselytized to and that's very disturbing. :shocked!:
I guess I have never felt like the lead HAD to sleep with anyone.....and could you point out the many post on here that leads you to say so MANY think it's dirty coz damn if I must not be needing to go back to school coz I sure haven't seen those. Oh and BTW I think sex is right up there with sliced bread and a chocolate sundae....; )
common misconception that people assume those of us who consider sex something to be shared in a marriage only also consider it 'dirty' or something to be avoided. Just the opposite!! That's kind of the point: sex leads to probably the two most awesome gifts the Good Lord could devise as a way to show love for his people by them being able to show love for each other: a means to bring forth children, and sharing The BIG 'O'
The point, from a Christian perspective, is not to abuse the gift. And I don't mean only have sex when you can have children.... That's not the idea. It's all about preserving it for within a marriage. And I'm Catholic so this is by no means purely an Evangelical concept
A wonderful post!!!!!

That's double standard though cause he sure is not dressing modestly, since he likes to strip evertime he gets the chance. I kid you grace, you know how much I like seeing you here.
But seriously doesnt the bible say something about not lusting in your head, 'whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery'.. but he is
causing married women to lust with all these stripping and showing muscles. But I guess it only applies for women? Just throwing it out there. If he expects
Catherine to dress modestly, he should show a good example.
Excellent point.. I never thought about it that way. He for sure has not been modest!
Catherine might be on board with this, but I bet she is having a very hard time keeping her hands off that hottie!

Please, I did not say the lead HAD to make love with anyone. I said the premise of the show is they will and I don't see how anyone can deny that given the 3 FD dates. Obviously not all do. So what? It doesn't change the fact the show leads up to the FDs which have the implicit implication that sex will happen whether it does or not. I also realize no one thinks sex is a dirty deed, that was a pun on the old AC/DC song. For goddess sake.

We will always have differing opinions on this board. I am Catholic, 12 years of nuns and Franciscan friars have failed to make me believe that God disapproves of two grown ups having consensual sex. If I burn in hell for all eternity for that, my bad.
I personally think God has bigger things on his mind (North Korea anyone?) than my sex life or Sean and Catherine's.
I am also among those who find it difficult to understand Sean at 29 or 30 never having been in love and not having had sex in whatever number of years since college or when he was born again. However, that is his belief and it is his business. I have trouble reconciling that belief with going on The Bachelorette, The Bachelor, DWTS, and now being a spokesman for Hydoxycut and soaking in all the fame and fortune that this lifestyle offers. I live in LA. I have nothing against celebrities who handle their fame with some authenticity. I find it amusing that Sean says he dislikes that aspect but continues to pursue it.
Off MY soapbox now. :hidingchair

I guess it's all perspective. I would never have sex with three different people in a week so it always shocks me when I hear that it happens on this show. I don't think of the FDs that way. I'm glad that they've made it more classy as of late. I hope Desiree keeps the trend going.

Nor do I. I take those that say they're gonna spend the time talking at face value. I can't think of many people that would want to have sex with 3 different people 3 nights in a row on this show altho if people say it's happened on here, I guess I will believe them.. The only one I ever thought ( because of MF ) capable of this is Bob G, but at the end of the day it really isn't any of my business and doesn't change my point of view. I was just following along with the convo about how Sean has went this long without having sex and speaking about his faith being the reason and how I can appreciate that. : ) It's all good. LOL

Sorry to burst your bubble but it has happened many times, not necessarily 3 times in every season but often 2. Even our beloved Trista admits she slept with Alex who slept with at least one other and perhaps two. It's what the show is about. If it's going to become a religious right show then I guess I need to stop watching. By the way, Emily slept with Arie, ladies. Who could resist? :sweetlove:

Can I inquire ... how do we know the bolded? I don't recall reading that. I thought that was just an assumption by some?
You could be the juiciest, most ripe peach, but there is still going to be someone who doesn't like peaches.

There's no way Em slept with Arie while on that show and as for who could resist, I sure could. I don't and have never found Arie the least bit attractive. I could never get past his dumb laugh even if he was attractive to me.

Why on earth would you think you could burst my bubble???? As for Em, if you don't have proof of that, why would you say it and we all know you DON'T have any proof! I will say if she did sleep with Arie,( which I will never believe) he must have sucked as badly as I thought he would coz she sure didn't want any seconds. ; )
