I found your article to be so interesting and a tad scary. My hubby is a bone marrow transplant patient and we have been instructed that he only drink bottled water. In the transplant unit all water was in a bottle and for the last 18 months, he's only had it from a bottle. He's not allowed to drink water from the tap, served in a restaurant, from a water cooler, etc. I will be raising this issue at the next Dr visit to see what gives.

Talking about water. When I was little we had well water and it wasn't just any type of well water. It had sulfur. We drank it, cook with it and washed in it. If we went out of town everyone knew where we were from. giggling

Wow, that's interesting. Sorry to cause you concern in any way. I used to work as a chemo nurse, and I don't believe that was ever an instruction we gave to any of our patients. I hope your husband is doing well. You should follow your doctor's instructions but I would definitely ask about it too.

Speaking of bottled water, my college has taken much of it out of vending machines and we now have those fancy bubblers in the buildings where you simply put your bottle on the sensor and it fills it up. This seems to be becoming a more common practice as my dad's middle school is doing the same for next school year. I don't drink bottled water because the water from our tap is really good. Perks of living by a great lake I'd say.

When I was younger I used to drink water directly from the hose when playing outside. I think I turned out fine, although my parents may say otherwise. :winkie:

I hope this is the right thread for this question.

We're seeing a lot on the news today about fires in Utah. Anyone know their proximity to Jef's home?

What a great idea!! We stopped buying bottled water after watching Tapped on Netflix. Very eye opening documentary.

I would think this should be in the Jef thread. There's one in Jef's county (Utah County), but not near where Jef lives. Looking at all the fires in Utah, no wonder the air around here is hazy.

Maybe not many in Utah but two fires started up today in Colorado. One near me. Some western parts of my city have been evacuated but the fire is still west of them. Thank God! I live in the eastern part of the city so no threat to me.

Stay safe Rosepetal.

I remember a couple of years ago with the CA fires that one of my poster friends had to evacuate, and another in LA, the smoke was so thick there were strong warnings about going outside for days.

It was really scarey even hearing them describe their situations.

There's actually about 10 in Utah going on right now. Just one in the area Jef lives. The air in the Salt Lake Valley is hazy.

Be safe.
