Jef said that his and Emily's relationship took a while to develop because it started as a friendship first. He told me that it was a strategy to keep Emily guessing and keep her on her toes when it came to his feelings at first. He said that all of the other guys would jump up and get her drinks and fight for time with her, but he took a more laid back approach and he thinks it worked!

could have been a little shout out to Emily based on the chat they had on the last episode. *shrug*
Yeah, "shrug" First of all, that was one reporters recount of the interview. I'll wait until the word for word transcript comes out and see if it jives. Even so, so what. It's a non-issue as Jef either is with Emily, so it didn't matter (and they talked/joked about it on the show that just aired - gee, wonder if he said it for that reason?) or he didn't get the girl, and he's doing okay regardless. Not trustworthy behavior? Or dishonest? To me, that's over dramatizing something that men and women do all of the time. Emily could act coy, Jef could act aloof at first. It's not a big deal. He never treated her badly, he was polite and there for her.

I have to agree. We heard him tell Emily that it WASN'T a strategy. So yeah, he pretty much lied to Emily given what we were shown on the last episode.

Actually he didn't tell Emily that it wasn't a strategy.
Emily: "So it wasn't some..."
Jef: "Some plan?"
Emily: "I'm going to play the game and..."
Jef: "I don't know...maybe. Did it work? Cause then maybe--"
Emily: "Totally."
Jef: "Okay then yeah, it was totally my plan."

And Emily even says herself that he keeps her guessing and she likes that. So I don't see what the problem is? no idea

You know what? Regardless of who F1 is, I will just be so happy if Love_me is proved right and this board is finally given a little respect after all the hard work she and San have done. I love those girls! sign heart

That would be lovely, they so deserve it! Unfortunately, I don't think it will ever come from RS, so if spoilers prove accurate, I hope the media attributes appropriately.

The "done with dating on reality TV" and "wouldn't accept the Bachelor if it were offered" strikes me that way, too.
I'm with you both.

Huh?? So 25 guys all go into a house vying for the same girl and you expect none of them to have a plan as to how to go about getting her? And even if he decided to lay low and let some of the guys weed themselves out first, who cares? I will take his approach any day and apparently Emily did too. So happy for her and am thrilled for Love_Me.

It's such an aggregious lie, right? Not so much. I don't think he "lied", it was a moment they talked and joked about. And for all we know, that's partly why he threw that out there in the interview. He asked her if it worked, she basically said yes it had, and that's when he said, yeah, it was a strategy.

He played hard to get. It's not exactly exemplary. It isnt evil, but I wouldn't like it if someone did that to my sister. It's like he read The Rules - and it worked!

He's a teaser. He didn't lie about it being his strategy. He told her it was. But he did it in such a way that she'd think it was cute.

At least he told her his secrets. :stirthepot
