I get the feeling that many out there don't think Jef is the right fit for Emily. I think he is the perfect fit. Not just for Emily for Ricki also. I don't see the other guys stepping up to the plate and being fun, with even stupid situations. They are all about Emily, and aren't saying much about Ricki. This is where Jef has taken the lead. He's asked her about Ricki, and toasted to Ricki. He is the calm that she needs. He can be fun and serious. My nephew is the same way and married a lady with 3 children. They are constantly doing things and having family outings. He saw how to be first hand from his father. My sisters husband is funny, loves to travel have fun. They have been married 40+ years. He treats my sister like a queen every day. Jef is a mold from the same character, they will fit great together and have a happy life.

Chris said she is looking for the perfect man? Hmm. Maybe that's why she is not very forgiving of whatever Arie did wrong to derail their relationship. If she's looking for perfection, she will never find it. I've said before that she doesn't seem to have a clue about what a real relationship is or how to compromise. I guess when your quest is perfection, there is little room for compromise.

I can see Emily letting a man take over to a degree. But she will have her part in it as well. They might even talk it out before he does something. Just so that he knows what she expects. But what ever is done she wants it to come from him. That is her way of letting someone else take over. JMO

Not sure I agree with this. On the Dollywood date, Arie is the one who said he wanted to win something for Ricki.

Emily knows how it is. Guys can think they're in charge all they like, you may even lead them to believe that, but we all know who is really in charge. The guy still has to make her happy if he wants to be happy. :Smiley:

So, to me, that's not really giving up control. I think that's quite impossible. But she will be able to relax a bit more, he will take the weight off her shoulders and give her some relief. I believe that's what Chris is talking about.

Well Aries did say at Dollywood about winning that stuff animal for Ricki
Sean has asked how would Ricki accept Em getting married again..
There were more but this is just one example...
So we do see the top 3 do talk about Ricki...

I think it's more for Emily than just talking about Ricki. The reason IMO that she got so upset about the baggage comment is that she expected each guy to be as OUTRAGED by it as she was, and to have immediately wanted to defend her daughter's honor and go "WVa. backwoods on his ass" the way she wanted to. Is it too much to ask? Probably, but that to her would indicate that the guy put Ricki as his top priority, as she does. IMO, if any of them grew up with the mindset and perspective that you sacrifice anything for "the children", and that they are ALWAYS the center of your life, it's probably Jef (I think coming from a big family helps). And I suspect she thought that also, and that's part of why she picked him.

eta I think Sean may likely have more of this mindset also, but I just don't believe Emily is as fascinated by him as she is by Jef, and that was the difference between the two. And Jef's family wealth didn't hurt either. :giggle:

Sean and Emily have spoken about Ricki in almost every episode that they have shown 1on1 time with Emily. Not sure how this is being so missed ? Oh yeah Jef is F1.

I was about to post something similar. Sean seems very interested in how Ricki fits in the equation of his relationship with Emily, including how he would view her as is daughter and if she would be okay with Emily getting married. IMO, Sean seems to be just as ready if not more ready than Jef to be a father. One look and read about how he treats his niece and nephew will tell you that.

Besides, Emily spoke to Sean and asked Sean how many kids he wanted and discussed what she wanted in terms of family. She said nothing of the sort to Jef1.
But each episode they (Sean and Emily) have been talking about Ricki and how she would handle Em in a new relationship.
