I think he's cute. Brad's personality made him less attractive to me. I'm peeking at the guys before any real spoilers can come out. This guy looks like he could be around a while.

I know that Doug was never married, he got a girl pregnant at 21 on a one night stand in college. The mother and him are not on good terms at all.

Not exactly...she just gave him custody in December, he just had visitations prior to that. I wonder how he will ever move with the mom and family in WA, unless he leaves him behind?

if he has custody, then he can decide where to live no? and it is not 100% that emily would refuse to move either.

Yes it is not at all convenient for the mother but there are many many divorced/separated people with kids that are not living nearby. Some have even a country between them.

Molly waited 1 year before jumping into another state and she had no kids. I am sure that emily will wait the end of the school terms before taking any decision and hopefully for her even longer and have all the medias calmed down and see if the relationship is really serious

As a child from a divorced family, I do not see it was a major problem that the kid is not in the same area as both parents. not easy, sure. but not impossible.

custody means for me that doug wanted to be part of his kid's life all along. he fought to have this custody because it is not easy for a father to have it. If a mother gave it, she also had insurance that was serious commitment. I see that in a positive light that he took his responsibilities seriously.

The fact that she was not in good terms with the mother. To have a kid by accident is far from easy. If doug did not want to marry her but was ready to share his responsibilities. I am sure the mother was bitter. who would not? Being a single young mother and no man on her side? Hard to cope for sure. understandable. So what, marry the girl like in the 50s and divorce 10 years later and have a very miserable life at home not showing love in front of the kid? would that be better than refusing to marry the mother? Making love takes 2 people and making sure that the guy is wearing a condom goes both sides.

Was the custody issue resolved amicably or was it acrimonious? Why would the son's mom surrender custody of her son? Is she not financially, emotionally ,physically able to support her son?

The laws differ from state to state. I believe in Florida, the custodial parent cannot move and take the child outside the state if the other parent does not agree /consent.
